The location, the staff and the hotel’s unique Greek charm have to be experienced to be totally appreciated.

The property and the staff were exceptional, we came all the way from Australia and they treated us with welcoming hands and the kindest of attitudes, the staff really made the stay and the luxury suites were stunning, this is a place we will have to go back and honestly it’s perfect for relaxing and enjoying a Greek island.

This hotel was absolutely breathtaking. The room was amazing with a water view and our terrace. The staff was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and the weather was gorgeous while we were there. We felt like royalty at this resort. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating to whatever we needed. I chose to include breakfast with our stay, and I believe this is the best decision I could have made outside of extending our stay by another day. :)
The beach was not sandy, so if you did not bring water shoes, and didn't know how to get them, the rocks hurt your feet a little. There were other people allowed to visit the beach that were not staying at the hotel. I didn't mind much, but for someone else paying to stay there, it could be a bother. The positive side to that is that people paying to stay at the hotel get a reserved chair, towel and umbrella whereas others just visiting for the day do not.

The location was lovely, quiet and remote. The property was picturesque and tidy. We loved the beach area with the sun-beds and umbrellas. The restaurant was really good; the included breakfast was wonderful! The staff were friendly and very helpful, transporting our bags and making reservations for us. The private, complimentary ferry was an amazing perk. I wish we could have booked one of the tours on the larger boat, but we just didn’t have time. Next time!

Beach, double room size of a small apartment
Some mistakes made in ordering, facilitating things to do

Excellent Greek breakfast overlooking the sea, with warm, friendly and attentive staff. Shame it is a pebbley beach but that is not their fault! It is a really relaxing place that has an air of calm and serenity, loved it here
Please improve the wines available by the glass

Great location. Fantastic stuff. So nice and friendly people they are. Best place

A secluded quiet hotel with a stunning view, even a small room is a separate house with a terrace, there are few people in the hotel, a feeling of complete separation from other tourists. Blooming garden, pleasant restaurant, polite staff, very clean. Terrific Internet, was able to conduct a video conference better than from the office. In general, the hotel maintains a high level of service.
The beach is quite rocky, it is better not to swim without special shoes. Lots of people every day on the beach. For everything - you need to go to the port (the boat runs every hour).

This is a truly special place in a breathtaking location. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, breakfast is perfectly cooked to order, and our room was spacious and incredibly clean. The hourly water taxi to and from the main harbor (and well lit path if you choose to walk) make the hotel easily accessible, despite being tucked away in a beautiful cove on Hydra. We loved it!

Hotel location on Plaka beach feels exclusive as you have to arrive by water taxi from the main port of Hydra. The hotel is very small with just seven rooms and is located right on the beach. It is very nicely though simply decorated To the left of the restaurant area is a section for hotel guests to sunbathe and to the right is a section for the general public. We saw the hotel in Conde Naste Traveller magazine so thought it must be very nice but really it was very disappointing (see below). Nice view of the sunset from the beach restaurant was best thing for us. Hydra town itself has a great atmosphere and is very pretty.
There is no proper boarded walkway to the hotel which makes it awkward to walk and although we were greeted at the boat, there was no offer of help carrying bags when we got of the water taxi. The bathroom in our split level suite was TINY!! Luckily there was just two of us in the suite (we had the double bedroom and there was a twin room above for children) but if there had been four of us, the bathroom was insufficient and not luxurious enough for the price you are paying). The bedroom is also tiny. I think the design and layout could have been more carefully thought out. The most disappointing thing about this hotel is the service. It needs a feminine touch and someone to actually take charge - all the staff looked depressed and bored and seemed to ignore us although there was only a few tables occupied at dinner time. The restaurant lacked so much atmosphere, that we decided to take a boat taxi into Hydra and have dinner there instead. The next morning, we decided to occupy the hotel sunbed area, but as more and more people arrived by boat (general public are allowed to come and use the beach and restaurant which is fine if properly managed), they were let into this area for a fee. The hotel guy offered all of these people drinks to be brought to their sunbeds but despite the fact we just paid £345 for the night, we got totally ignored and not offered any water or drinks to be brought. Completely disgraceful. During breakfast, the two male waiters were chatting and ignoring us when we tried to ask for more coffee. No smiles from anyone. Definitely won't be coming back despite the beautiful sunset.

Beautiful setting
Great restaurant
Private
Beach access with reserved sun beds for the hotel guests
Service by a couple of the staff at the restaurant and on the beach was superb
Ambience, really relaxed, lovely atmosphere
Super clean
For us the room was overpriced for what you get, the bathroom in particular was tiny and we are not big people!
Bed could be more comfortable
Service (depending on who you got wasn’t always great), not so friendly or helpful

My partner and I spent three wonderful days at the Four Seasons, after deciding on the destination last minute, and it is without a doubt one of the best hotels we ever stayed in. Small and tasteful, with a great on-site restaurant where we had breakfast and lunch every day, and a beautiful pebble beach with crystal clear water. However, what really made it special was the friendliness of the staff and the excellent service. We really enjoyed the complimentary boat ride and the scenic walk into town. This was our first time in Hydra and we completely fell in love with this charming island, which is a world away from the mass tourism vibe of the bigger islands. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will most certainly be back!

Stunning island. Fabulous beach. Beautiful restaurant.

We loved this hotel. A real private place to get away from it all. Yet a short boat ride or a nice walk to the main village. The staff was just charming, and they made one feel special. Great for swimming, too.
We liked everything.

Wish the apartments will be bigger & more spacious! The bathroom could have some update

We honestly couldn’t fault the Four Seasons Hydra. It totally lived up to expectations and we spent a thoroughly enjoyable five nights there. A stand out were the staff, who were delightful and very helpful. We also loved the boat shuttle to and from the town and just lazing on the sun beds by the beach. Thank you very much for the stay.
