The food was superb, could have had a slightly varied breakfast menu though .
The gym needs a make over , it’s sun standard. The msin machine is difficult and cumbersome to use .

Great hotel, very kind and engaging staff, some of the best food we had in South Africa, beautiful views over the bay and the sand dunes and a lovely little game drive with the chance to see giraffes, many kind of antelope and much more. Amazing luxury ,picnic’ lunch right down by the ocean. Brilliant way to unwind and relax before travelling home.

Excellent location and beautiful lodge and rooms, stunning.
Did not realise there is very little game.
Dinner, while very good, was exceptionally slow.

staff, views, size of room . drives. proximity to beach and easy transport there .
dining room and sitting room could easily be made so much better . the dining room is far too bright- lighting is not well thought out. Needs softer lighting , even decent size candles on tables would improve things if ambient lighting reduced. Shame not to create the right atmosphere if providing good food .
Sitting room is a strange mix of clashing colours and fabrics . Not a welcoming space. wouldn’t be a massive outlay to improve it drastically and bring it up to the proper standard of a ‘luxury’ lodge.

lovely large rooms, friendly helpful staff, excellent food, mini bar plus wine and nibbles in the room, picnic by the beach with transfers to and from, great views, great for a two night stay at the end of our holiday.
Desmond the head ranger was very knowledgeable and served an excellent G&T midway through our game drive
everything was very good

Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing place! We started with an amazing game drive on the private resort before we were enjoying our 7 course Christmas dinner. Breathtaking views, friendly staff and gorgeous rooms on top of that made our stay highly recommended.

Exceptional! We stayed in an ocean room. The room is beautiful and spacious. Bathroom huge with a bath and double shower overlooking the ocean. The game drive was a pleasure and our guide, Desmond extremely knowledgeable. Food was outstanding and our all inclusive stay included great wine and other drinks in our bar fridge.
There is absolutely nothing not to like.

no complaints at all…

Kitchen was not great. Food / coffee was cold on more than one occasion. Once the whole meal, which included salad leaves was heated in the micro - Very unprofessional for a 5-star facility. A facility like this could also do with some quality wine glasses, especially in the executive room.
The beach is too far to really enjoy. Game reserve is also quite small.

Exceptional view of the Indian Ocean from the lodge. Suite very spacious, comfortable, private and ocean views from shower, bedroom and deck. Imaginative cuisine.

Oceana has the perfect location for sea and bush lovers. We had exceptional views of the sea and some wildlife grazing from our room. The rooms are opulent and spacious. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The office staff always went an extra mile, and even printed personal documents for me upon request. The ranger, Desmond, was quite well-informed and kept us entertained during the game drive.
The food wasn’t great at all. At breakfast time the sausage was under-cooked and the omelette too dry. Even though there is a 3 course menu for dinner, the portion sizes are just too small. We also had a problem with housekeeping not cleaning our room until we asked at 15:30 on the second day. The games room also doesn’t have a variety in games.

Oceana was easily accessible from the R72 and on arrival, we had someone waiting to show us parking, carry our bags, and show us to our room. I traveled with my <6mo old baby and the staff was all so helpful in making my stay and eating experiences worthwhile, offering to hold the baby so I could find a comfortable way of eating etc... The place was cozy with fireplaces lit all over the lounges for dinner dining. The meals were all well prepared, barring one incident of a well-done lamb steak bcz it was a slow roast; but was quickly turned around as chef made cutlets from scratch. The lodge rooms were massive, typical Mantis style rooms, and a cot with baby linen was decked out in my room on arrival. They have an exquisite range of house wines complimentary during your stay. I loved the food, the room views, and the serenity of the area. We also had a custom game drive pf about an hour to accommodate the young kid. All staff is friendly and accommodative of the photo-life :-D . It was truly a serendipitous experience.
They should mark the deck area at the beach with a flag or anything to show it as a landmark. The few of us that did take the very stretchy walk down to the beach from the deck got lost coming back. We weren't able to see where we had come from. The pool area is a waterfall feature and not actually a pool you can swim from if you're in the lodges.

The view and the staff are amazing!
The suite was fantastic, barring below comments.
Couples massage not available, lunch substandard, only options for sparkling wine or champagne were obscenely expensive.
Floor in room uneven and room not as clean as could be.
Hairdryer not powerful enough.

We loved everything about the resort. The views are breathtaking. You have ocean wildlife and nature all in one. We spend hours exploring the most amazing sand dunes on the beach. The Staff go out of their way to ensure a lovely holiday and give a lot of personal attention. The food was amazing. The room was absolutely wow and very private.
Guests are not allowed to roam free on the property, even though there are no dangerous animals. You have to be accompanied by a guide.
