This house, location and overall trip could not have been more perfect. It’s right where you want to be, and the service was unmatched. The Concierge takes care of all the planning and transportation. All you have to do is tell him what you’d like to do and it will be arranged. I highly recommend taking advantage of the chef as well. We will never get over how amazing our dinners were. You will not regret booking this stay, but good luck getting a reservation bc I have shared it with everyone I know.

This villa exceeded our expectations. One of the highlights of our vacation, was seeing the wild monkeys up close at this property. The villa itself had plenty of room for our family of 6 adults. It was the perfect location. It is a very safe loction and the villa does have a security gate. There is a small convenience store within easy walking distance. There is a wonderful restaurant called Ronny's place that is just a few minutes drive. The concierge Mefi was very prompt in answering our numerous questions. The housekeeper kept everything very clean. We really enjoyed the guided tours of Manuel Antonio and the coffee farm that Mefi booked for us. We also went to Rainmaker Park with the swinging bridges and to a beach on our own which we greatly enjoyed. If you are going to Costa Rica for the wild life, this is the perfect location to be in.

Beautiful home with an incredible jungle view! If you’re looking for a place to see wildlife look no further! We saw a sloth, monkeys, birds, and more while sipping coffee on the back porch! The home itself was impeccably clean and comfortable. Our concierge helped us all throughout our stay and the recommended tours we chose were all fantastic! Highly recommend this home!

We loved this house. It was very clean and comfortable and the big windows were amazing to watch the birds and animals. We had three different troops of monkeys come through- capuchins, howlers, and squirrel monkeys. Scarlet Macaws flew over daily and toucans visited the tree outside. The cleaner, Evelyn, was very kind and she did our laundry, which was extremely helpful. The pool doesn’t get a lot of sun so it’s a bit cooler but the kids still jumped in everyday. The location was also fantastic to get everywhere in town quickly. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

We absolutely loved this house!! Very spacious and clean! Mefi took care of all our excursions and taxi rides. He even got food delivered to our house for us! I will give you my opinion…the Chef for this house is so good!!! We had breakfast & dinner with him for 3 nights. Fresh ingredients & so worth the money! Our cleaning lady kept everything clean & fresh. She even does the laundry!!! Cannot say enough positive things about this place! Tons of different wildlife can be seen from the porches! Thank you to Casa Luz & all the staff for making our trip so memorable!

When you drive down the road to get to the house you will be surprised there is such a beautiful house that is behind the gate. The house is big and had plenty or room for the 8 of us. We did get to see monkeys jumping in the trees one morning. The balcony off the kitchen was perfect to sit on in the morning and just take in the sounds and beautiful surroundings. It was close to the beaches and there is small grocery store very close that we walked to frequently. They have a concierge and main service. Our concierge was able to help us set up a tour at the national park and gave us some helpful tips for the beach. We didn’t spend much time in the pool but it’s nice to have if you don’t plan to spend all your days at the beach like we did. We enjoyed our time in Costa Rica.

House was exactly as good as it shows in the pictures. Jungle behind the property is even better. Lots of wildlife visiting every day. Take advantage of Mefi, he did a great job with the concierge service. Chef Jeinor cooking a few nights was a highlight. And Gaby kept the property spic and span. Well done!

A magnificent first visit to Manuel Antonio! Casa Luz is even nicer than advertised. It is quiet, peaceful, and luxurious. The villa is equipped with everything and clean and comfortable. The maid service is outstanding. Laundry washed, folded, and returned to your room every other day?! Next time we will bring half of the clothing. The 2 meals from the private chefs were better than most restaurants we visited. If you like wildlife, this is the place for you. We saw more at the property than during our visit to the national park (even a sloth one day). Mefi the concierge was extremely helpful arranging excursions and rides and is very responsive at all times of the day. My family had the most amazing time and we will be back. Pura vida!

The house was spacious and in a nice community. It is conveniently located.
Almost every day we saw white face monkeys. We saw squirrel monkeys about 4 days out of 8, and scarlet macaws a handful of times. We heard howler monkeys a few times and finally saw one in the distance on our last day. Lots of beautiful birds too, including a lessons motmot.
The cleaning lady was there every two days which was a bit too much for us as we hung out at the house every other day. This is Costa Rica so to be expected I guess, since the house is not sealed like ours in North America, but the two cockroaches we saw were unwelcomed visitors! That’s the only negative thing I have to say.

The property was beautiful - it really captured the tree-house experience, and was exactly as advertised. The property concierge was incredibly responsive and helpful. We would all highly recommend it.

We were a group of 3 couples and stayed 12 nights. If seeing the wildlife close up is what you are after then this was a great house. The main deck is located about 25 feet above ground so we got great views if the whiteface, squirrel and howler monkeys, sloth (with baby!), macaws, toucans most days! The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well in the humid 30+C weather which was always sunny! There was a small shop about 50 m from the house that had most basic requirements including beer and wine! The internet connection was excellent. We either took taxis (US$10-15/trip) to the beach or restaurants in Manuel Antonio and Quepos or the local bus (US$1/person. Walking at night not recommended as there are no footpaths and roads not in best shape. Cookware was fine although the oven is in a ridiculously high location. A few minor issues were the pool is more of a plunge pool than a swimming pool and needed the bottom cleaned out. Also, there were just 2 lounge chairs available for sunbathing. There were not a lot of wine glasses but lots of dishes, plates, cutlery etc. The house itself is a little dated and the pool and deck could do with a little TLC but overall these are minor complaints and this was a great place to relax and see the wildlife. The housekeeper Evelyn was very friendly and did a excellent good job and Mefi our concierge was available if needed. He arranged for 2 chef prepared dinners at the house and they were excellent.

Huge place. Clean and tidy. Well presented. The morning after we arrived we saw a sloth, toucans and monkeys in the garden.
The concierge, Mefi, was exceptionally helpful. He organised transport from San Jose airport to the property . Also transport within Manuel Antonio and transport up to our next destination along with excursion bookings and an excellent private chef. He also managed to arrange very quickly to have a suitcase that got left behind to be transported 75 miles to us. All in all a superb start to our holiday in Costa Rica.

The place was excellent. Mefi, the concierge was a lifesaver. He helped me coordinate where to eat, massages, what beaches to go to, other questions I had. It was like having a friend of years point me in the right direction everytime. That service alone would make me stay here again.
That being said, the place was beautiful. There was no shortage of monkeys, birds, iguanas, and the trees were really beautiful. The beds were probably the most comfortable beds we stayed in our whole trip. The kitchen was simple, but well stocked, and we were able to cook several delicious meals.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat, the place was so nice.

Fabulous! Great location! We saw 3 different kinds of monkeys, Macaws, toucans, sloths, and many types of birds right from the porch! Food everywhere was amazing and convenient! This was our first vacation to CR, and we will be back! Staff and Mefi were extremely helpful and made the trip stress free! Gracias!!

First the great things - Mefi (the property manager) was wonderful; the house is large with lots of room, and plenty of wildlife - macaws, agouti, monkeys. Truly in the jungle.
However, the property needs a little tlc. A couple examples include: a number of outlets not working, a few windows had cracks allowing bugs in, worn out pans and pots, and the deck is beginning to show its age.
To be clear, this is still a great property, but it’s always good to have a full picture before booking.

The house is perfectly named- it is full of light with huge windows and glass doors. All sorts of wildlife come close. We felt immersed in natural beauty. Stayed 8 days and loved all of the places we visited.

Where do I even begin...
WILDLIFE WILDLIFE WILDLIFE! If you want to see the tropical animals of Costa Rica do not wait another moment, BOOK THIS HOUSE!!
This home is spacious and stunning, comes equipped with EVERYTHING and the staff is top notch. The location is removed just enough to feel secluded but close to everything from grocery, beach, outdoor and water activities and more. On the days we didn't have activities planned we stayed in and built zigsaw puzzles (in the game cabinet) while we watched the toucans and squirrel monkeys come and go through the panoramic views off the back side of the house. One day 30 or so squirrel monkeys came and ate bananas right out of our hands and then pranced and played with each other all over the balcony. The kitchen is phenomenal, we made wonderful family meals that we enjoyed at the oversized dining table. My children thoroughly enjoyed the downstairs (sleepover room as they called it) where they could all hang out away from the adults and the pool was right out of their sliding door! Mefi was very professional and eager to help with anything we needed. The housekeeper was such a kind woman, and even washed and folded all of our laundry. She helped us spot a baby sloth in the tree that we were told was there but couldn't find ourselves. As an avid Costa Rica goer I must say this was one of my favorite places I've ever stayed in the whole country, and I have stayed a lot of places there! We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time at Casa Luz in mid-April, 2023. We stayed six nights with our three grown children and one friend (all aged 25-32). The house is beautiful and clean, with room for everyone both outside and inside, and it had great A/C. We made dinner a couple of nights at the house and also had two dinners with Chef César - which were terrific but not necessarily a bargain. We didn't see any monkeys for the first three days and then saw many, especially squirrel monkeys. We also saw a sloth, toucans, macaws and some ground-dwelling rodent-like animals - all from the house decks. We heard many howler monkeys but didn't see them. As others have said, a store just 100 yards or so away + a very cute restaurant (only had breakfast there) next door.
We went on three excursions - Off the Beaten Track, kayaking in an estuary, and ATV'ing - all terrific. Went snorkeling with a company we found online. We spent an afternoon at Playa Esparilla (sp?), with beautiful water and beach. We didn't rent a car but used a van recommended by the concierge Mefi and then a cab which could fit all of us and made arrangements with the driver for other trips. Mefi is super-helpful for whatever you'd like help with - excursions, restaurants, van arrangements for San Jose to the house. Overall, a fantastic, memorable house and trip!

Our family (mom, dad, 15 yo, 12 yo) had such an incredible time in Costa Rica. We all agreed it was our favorite vacation ever. This house was amazing. Incredible location, extremely comfortable, amazing wildlife, everything we could have hoped for and more. We had more than enough space (easily another family could have joined us) and only wish we could have stayed for another week. Highly, highly recommend!

I would highly recommend and hope to return! Our two families of four had a great time! Plenty of space and all the things you need inside and out. The pool and deck were lovely and enjoyed all of the visiting wildlife surrounding the property. The home is in a great, central location, making it easy to get to all the places we needed.

We were looking for something that would give us an opportunity to see some Costa Rica wildlife and this home did not disappoint. Daily we saw Howler monkeys, Capuchin monkeys, and we were entertained by about 20 Squirrel monkeys who played and wrestled by our feet on the deck for about 20 minutes—as well as Toucans scarlet Mccaws and more. Place was very clean. not bugs inside and our consereirge was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

With little notice 5 of is decided to go to Costa Rica. 2 were already there in other towns and 3 of us flew from the US. I had been before so knew i wanted a jungle experience. This BEAUTIFUL casa was exactly what we were looking for.. it has it all. And the floor plan is very thoughtful.
Mefi, our concierge set us up with a chef and we couldnt not have enjoyed this more. What a great way to spend an evening. He also set us up with night paddleboarding, also an experience of a lifetim
House is off the beaten path, before all the chaotic traffic. Great little store and restaraunt within 2 blocks. Loads more down the road. I appreciated the views and peacefullness. We had a troop of at least 50 momma and baby monkeys come through.
Wish we would have booked to stay a little longer. I would highly recommend.

We loved Casa Luz!
Everything was above expectation.
The property was wonderful.
Clean, spacious and functional.
Mefi did an amazing job in helping us plan our day trips, and even arranged a pickup of one of our group from San Jose who were delay by a snow storm.
Also, Chef Jeinor cooked us wonderful dinners each night.
We would definitely recommend Casa Luz for your visit to Manuel Antonio.

We loved our stay at Casa Luz! It was the last stop on a two week trip and it couldn't have been better! Walking into the house made us feel special. The entire back of the house is all windows overlooking the rainforest! Just beautiful! The house is convenient to everything and we enjoyed returning every day for cocktails and relaxation! Plenty of wonderful outdoor seating! Pool was beautiful, perfect size and so refreshing!
We saw plenty of birds and lots of wildlife. The white face and squirrel monkeys performed for us on a daily basis! They climbed the rails and played right by our feet. The monkeys had tons of personality and superior leaping abilities which kept us entertained. We loved it!
The house is not far from Manuel Antonio National Park, the beaches, grocery stores and many restaurants. Follow the restaurant recommendations in the book provided by Mefi and you won't go wrong! We really enjoyed Emilio's Cafe which has spectacular ocean views!
For my sister's birthday, we had Chef José cook dinner for us! What a wonderful experience! Chef José is a talented chef who uses the freshest, best quality ingredients! He was very patient with us when we asked tons of questions, not only about cooking but about Costa Rica as well. He was a delight! The special dinner will be one we will never forget! Be sure to book him for a wonderful experience!
We hope to return to Costa Rica - the people are so special and the country beautiful! Definitely we'd book Casa Luz again!

Great private property, with lots of natural features around the house to give the feeling right in the jungle. We were fortunate to see Toucans, Macaws, White Faced and Squire Monkeys.

Wonderful time in Manuel Antonio. The house is well located, in walking distance to cute shops and restaurants in the area. Bus stops just up the street for rides to/fr the beach, and easy taxi pick-up/drop off too.
Ownership provides a great book of phone numbers, tour recommendations, restaurants, etc. The house concierge, Mefi, was super communicative with us from the start of the booking process to our very last day. Made some great recommendations on tours, set us up with all our reservations, etc.
Overall a great house. Made fast friends with the neighbours cat that visited us regularly, and the teams of wildlife that came through the property on a daily basis (monkeys, macaws, lizards, even saw a deer chilling in the jungle).
Great time. Can't wait to go back.

The house was perfect for a 50th Birthday Girls Trip! We got to be "adventure goddesses" - rafting, ziplining, waterfall hunting, National Park touring, and ocean swimming but then got to come home to this luxurious house for cocktails and relaxation. You really do have a rainforest in the backyard where you can hang out with howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, white faced monkeys, beautiful birds and a sloth and her baby! The house is walking distance to amazing restaurants with breathtaking views of the ocean. I can't say enough about the concierge Mefi who helped coordinate all our actives. We planned/booked everything ahead of time, even our envelopes of money for each tour/tip, so we simply enjoyed our time with no planning and no decision making while we were there. Everyone was SO nice, from Mefi to our housekeeper Evelyn to our tour guides. Their enthusiasm was contagious. This trip was amazing and I'd choose Casa Luz all over again!!

Great location, clean place, and cool house. It was close to everything and we saw a lot of monkeys.
10.0 / 10.0
This rental is aptly advertised as "Monkey Village" in that most days you will see 20 of them jumping through the jungle making 25 foot + leaps that they land every time. The proximity of Casa Luz to all the action is perfect (grocery store, beaches, tours etc.). The staff is wonderful and pays attention to every detail including the private chef (Jeinor) . It will be a family vacation we will never forget!!!

We had an amazing time at Casa Luz. Everything from Mefi booking tours for us and giving us suggestions on where to eat. We especially loved having our Private Chef. He cooked some amazing meals for us. The kids loved the pool. Not to mention we saw monkies and mcaw parrots. The check in and check out process was seamless. We cant wait to come back again

Casa Luz
This house is amazing. We were greeted on our first day by three different types of monkeys, a sloth, macaws, and toucans right on the back porch. There was a daily "monkey show" after that day. Manuel Antonio is a gorgeous area with plenty to do and many great restaurants within walking distance of the house. El Lagarto is a must. The store.right around the corner is very convenient as well. The concierge, Mefi, was always available and was extremely helpful arranging outings. The house is so comfortable and has everything one needs. This was by far our best family vacation. I highly recommend Casa Luz.

Well equipped and maintained home in a beautiful spot
Our family of 5 (3 kids under 10) and another family of 5 (also under the age of 10) stayed here for 10 days and it was perfect! The house has EVERYTHING you could need and was restocked (including paper towels, trash bags, seasonings, etc) and the house keeper was great and took such great care of us and the house. Also, king beds all around and plenty of space in each room. The location can be walking distance to a few spots but there is also a bodega style market 2 doors down. We enjoyed daily coffee and wine on the deck, and watched a few types of monkeys in the trees! The house has Mefi, a concierge, who checked in a few times with us and helped coordinate. Quepos is a safe and easy place so you could absolutely coordinate on your own but it was one less thing. For such a long trip, this house held all of us so well and made the trip much more delightful. I am a fairly picky renter with high expectations and this one exceeded all of my expectations.
