The location and birdlife was magnificent. Loved and enjoyed the passion and knowledge of the game ranger Zola.
In general it was good, but believe an upgrade and refurbishment is needed. Perhaps Covid also impacted on this lodge and refurbishment was delayed.

Staff was amazing. The safari guides wore many hats, but they were always helpful and went out of their way to make sure you had an informative and interactive experience. I would give this place my highest recommendation.
Finding the property was difficult. And an adventure in and of itself. And road/roads to property were a bit rough. But the payoff is well worth the journey.

Host, Manuella is welcoming, warm and friendly.
Our main guide was Zola, who’s incredible at his job - well informed, attentive and excellent in spirit.
Kego, the chef was amazing.
The game drives are worth it - so make sure you do both the morning and evening drives.
This is not about the property, but more about the road leading towards the property - it’s terrible, and needs repair.

Mziki is a hidden gem. A beautiful, developing game reserve with a lodge that provides good, simple food and simple, functional rooms. The lodge is on the reserve (=+/- 5x5 km) and a short drive from the entrance. No 4x4 needed, normal car will do (with careful driving). The rooms are modern and properly equipped. Modernized bathrooms. Open Wifi, including in the rooms.
Some minor points are: Google directions are misdirecting at the last part of the drive in. One should follow the signs (even in the dark); The rooms could do with a bit more / closed off closet space and a new couch.

It is a very genuine safari place. We have been there 10 years ago and came back again this year and nothing has changed, in the good sense.
The service is excellent and discrete.
The place is genuinely integrated in the nature but the rooms are very comfortable and attended twice per day while you are out for the game drives (including different chocolates every night). Nice boma environment for all the meals.
No monkeys on the property so you can leave the windows and door opened
The swimming pool is cool but great ! You can relax, read, swim and not feel the others' presence around if you don't want to or enjoy their company.
The guests seem to be international and well educated, easy to bond with ☺️
The game drives and rangers! Are excellent 🦒🐘🦏🐒🦓🐃🐗🦖
The property has 6000 ha and about 20 guests driving around...
The animals are shy as they should be in a natural environment but the rangers are very good and tenacious and make you discover something outstanding at each and every drive. They are knowledgeable and attentive without talking too much, so you can enjoy the ride 😉 We had Zola and Chris and they were great!
We saw elephants, rhinos (de horned to avoid poaching 😒), giraffes, buffalos, warthogs, kudu, nyala, red haartebeest, blessbok, reedbok, zebra, gnu, impala, baboons, vervet monkeys, crocodiles and lots of birds, big and small.
Extraordinary sightings ❤️
The food could have been a bit better...
More braais and better quality meat / fish would have been great.
I enjoyed the venison stews and pap & sauce.
Coffee was available in abundance but very weak - probably prepared by someone who doesn't drink it...
The buffet was freshly made, with love but if you are fussy with food, be prepared to eat what you get and bring your own treats.
The souvenir shop doesn't have attractive stuff, which is a pity because people have so much time to enjoy shopping ☺️

Majestic lodge situated 2 hours away from Jhb. The staff were absolutely fantastic. Food was incredible, along with the game drives. Zola, our game ranger went out of his way to assist us. We will definitely be back.

Awesome staff who attended to our every need, easy to access, loved the game drives. well priced considering.
This is more a comment instead of "what I did not like"
Look, it is the bush so I am aware that I need to tailor my expectations, and for the price I was not expecting 5 star, however the rooms were quite basic and will disappoint those expecting any sort of frills whatsoever.

Lovely hosts . Took great care of us. Our cabins were great, even electric blankets turned on each night in our beds for us, and a chocolate and little quotation by our beds. The boma was so good, A nice warm fire each night, tables set with white cloths and oil lamps. Well stocked bar.
We loved the game drives and were give so much information about the bush and its animals by our guide.

Great location for a quick weekend! It is closer to Joburg than Sun City so more time to relax than driving. Staff were fantastic and the rooms were very comfortable.
Nothing much.

Food, dinner under the sky and game drives and bush walks. Staff is very warm and helpful . It's a cozy place, not too many people.
Some food was a bit sweet.

No fridge in the rooms, with toddlers, it’s a necessity. Also, it would be nice if we could keep our own refreshments cold.

Game drives was good as the young Game Ranger tried to make it worthwhile.
Road from Rustenburg unsafe.(Bad potholes)
Food was unexceptable especially Dinner. (Returned ×1 Evening Dinner without even eating) lost my cool as just could not eat it.
Gardens not clean, swept and lawn full of thorns. Did not find the lush garden advertised.
Lodge not maintained with lack of management. No Management @ lodge except young Ranger attempting to look after Quests.
No creamer or milk in room for coffee/tea.
Room fan , no light shade.
Not getting value for your money!!!!!
Whats advertised is not what you get.
No Spa on site. (Outsourced if available)
Barge not operational. No river cruise.
Fridge @ Bar was out of order and coldrinks/beer was placed in cooler box with ice.
Did not find water holes @ the Lodge with animals visiting.?
Hammock needs attention.
Another couple with children exsperienced the same. We serouisly considered booking out and leave on the next morning.
Tried to discuss concerns with management via phone upon return but was only in defence mode.

This was one of the best staff at a lodge I was privileged to meet. There attention to service was superb. Every interaction was fantastic. The lodge is truly child friendly and the staff are very helpful. The food prepared was on point and the staff really go the extra mile to accommodate you. Fishing was spectacular, once again thank you to the staff for this wonderful experience.
The game drives. The thick bush and number of animals make them hard to spot, and it took us 3 drives to spot wildlife. It was both a negative and positive, the crocks were really beautiful, and so was our sunset drinks. No Elephants were found by our game drives so disappointed 😞

This lodge is beautifully situated in their own private reserve - they have game & big4 around which allows for some amazing sightings. Team was great and did all to give us a warm welcome and plesent stay. We loved game drives as well as relaxing with our little one in the garden. Totally recommend for Families and there little ones!
Meals are very jummy - but compared to other lodges of this price&size a little simple. There could be some more variety. Add. bar prices are - in comparison - a little higher.

It was the start of our ZA trip. Perfect location after arriving on an international flight at JNB (2hrs drive from the airport). We loved everything: The gardens, the pool (still a little chilly but very nice), the Boma and the food, breakfast and dinner really delicious. The best of it all was the service: Very nice staff, very helpful, everything very clean. We definitely recommend this place.
