About this apartment rental
Enjoy the best of Washington's neighborhoods in the shadow of the National Cathedral, a sun-filled English basement along tree-lined, safe and quiet streets, steps from cafes, bars, boutiques, gyms, national parks and supermarkets as well as easy access to Georgetown, Embassy Row, DuPont Circle, American, George Washington and Georgetown Universities, the White House, the Mall and monuments. It is a soft place to land after a vigorous day of Washington sight-seeing.
Cathedral Blessings was designed for comfort. It opens to a living/dining area equipped with stuffed sofa and chairs and a 50-inch high-def TV. WIFI and Netflix are complimentary. The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with Keurig coffee pot and pods, cookware, utensils and dinnerware. Two bedrooms contain queen beds and large closets, with a sofabed in the living room and an inflatable mattress available for extra members of the family. The apartment opens to a back yard and garden with a deck, cushy patio furniture, gas grill and a cherry blossom tree in bloom in April.
The apartment is a calm getaway from the hustle-bustle of official Washington. You're more likely to run into dog walkers and baby carriages than a U.S. Senator. The National Cathedral and its lovely gardens are two blocks away. So are the trails of Glover Archibold Park frequented by hikers and joggers. Two blocks in the other direction is Wisconsin Av., one of Washington's storied thoroughfares, lined with great eateries--Tex-Mex, French, Indian, Chinese, Uighur, Spanish Tapas, Vietnamese, Italian, Japanese and American--hot watering holes, Giant Foods, yoga studios. gyms, liquor stores, boutiques and pharmacies.
The apartment is less than two blocks from a major bus hub with tentacles throughout DC and 1.5 miles from Metro subway stations. Either form of trans;portation gets you to the National Mall in 20-30 minutes, depending on time of day.
Our family lives above the house upstairs and available at all times to enhance your comfort and help you navigate Washington sights and pleasures. Rebekah is a professional singer who ocassionally gives voice lessons during the day and early evening hours, so that space isn't sound proof.

Property was just as described. Great neighborhood & short walk to bus stop. Apartment was great size for our family of four.
Michael was very responsive to all our needs! He is very personable and nice to talk with.

This property is exactly as listed. Very clean and had everything we needed and far more. Having a parking pass for our car was so helpful, especially since we were visiting people in that same zone. Always found a spot within the block. Neighborhood felt very safe. Keep in mind it is a basement apartment so you will hear some footsteps like any apartment - but never late in evening! The stairwell down to the door is exactly as pictured so this is not for someone who can not do stairs with suitcases. It was no problem for us. We will use this site again when we return to town.

We found the location and ease of parking very positive. The beds were comfortable and the apartment served our family's needs well.

This was a lovely location for our family of 4. Quick responses from owners leading up to our stay. Easy walk to bus stop to get to all the things. Even walked to the zoo! Close grocery store with free parking for shoppers. Comfortable beds and all the basics provided.

This property was fully functional. We enjoyed our time.
Michael was a very responsive and courteous host.
Kids really appreciated the tv. I appreciated the AC!

The steep dirty steps (20 or so) into the basement wasn’t mentioned. The peering in the front door by Michael and having to ask for the outdoor space to be available wasn’t nice. Furniture needs cleaning or replaced.

Great little place near Georgetown, walking distance to many of local attractions-monuments, museums, etc. Very reasonably priced. Attentive host. Will be happy to rent again.

The place was great for what we needed. The property manger was nice and accommodating. It was excellent for the price and location in D.C. I would recommend this property manager and property to anyone and everyone.

Everything was wonderful except the apartment has steep stairs to get to. We are all over 50 and getting our luggage and groceries was a little difficult. The yard was under construction so we weren't able to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The place itself was clean, efficient and very comfortable. Water was always hot considering there were 5 women taking showers. :) Definitely a 4 star but 5 star if the yard was available. Thank you.

We enjoyed our vacation in DC with the stay at this property. All four adults had a great time and were very comfortable in the unit. There are a number of nice restaurants within walking distance and the bus depot was convenient and made getting downtown real easy. We look forward to coming back to DC in the future and would definitely like to stay here again.

It is as it is shown in the pictures. One negative was that the upstairs is under renovations and so the debris was in the backyard. I was under the impression we could use the backyard but that was not possible. Other than that it was as expected.

The property was what we expected based on the listing and other reviews. The owner responded to questions promptly and was willing to accommodate us for an early check-in since our flight arrived early. The Metrobus stop was an easy 2-block walk and along the bus route to the mall were various spots to eat and a couple of grocery stores. The accommodations were comfortable and gave us more room at a better price than staying at a hotel.

Our family enjoyed our time in DC and this place made it easy to get around and have quiet evenings to recharge. We were also able to get instacart to deliver which was great!

Nice neighborhood with access to restaurants, shops and only a short trip to the downtown sights. Host was friendly, responsive and helpful with all of our needs. The accommodations suited our family of 6 just fine. Parking availability was a plus.

Comfortable apartment in a quiet, walkable neighborhood that is close to everything. Everything is a 15 minute walk or drive from this location. Grocery stores, pharmacy, shops and restaurants are less than 15 minute walk. The mall, the monuments, the zoo all 15 minutes car-ride or less. Easy access to public transportation, and the National Cathedral is practically across the street.
The apartment was comfortable, easily accessed and clean and communication with the host was simple and straightforward.

Great location!
We loved the location of this property. It’s in a great neighborhood with lots of options for dining and shopping nearby, as well as some attractions such as The National Cathedral and American University. The host, Michael, is very responsive and helpful. We were in DC for a week and this basement apartment suited our needs perfectly.

Excellent location!
This property is in a great location. The neighborhood is quiet, and a perfect place to decompress after a day of sightseeing. The host provided us with a parking pass for the week, and we were able to park directly in front of the property. There are bus stops within a 5 minute walk of the property, and we were able to leave our car for the week and get around completely using public transportation. The rest of the neighborhood is great, with shops and restaurants nearby. The apartment was clean, with great water pressure and all necessary amenities. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Great location
This property is located in a nice part of town close to the Cathedral and several very good restaurants. A bus stop was a few blocks away, and the Metro was only a 10 minutes drive. The parking pass was good for a very large area in Northwest Washington and allowed us to park for free near the Metro.

Accommodating and friendly
We visited the DC area for the Memorial Day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The location was perfect for getting ti festivities around the district and the renters were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely consider renting from you again. Thank you for your kindness.

Good Location, Excellent Hosts
Originally we had booked this space for our son, wife and two toddlers, but ended up using it for ourselves, a couple, as they were unable to visit. Consequently, 2 bedrooms were not needed. The basement unit was well located and quiet. Street parking was a bonus, as we had a car. The owner and family, who live above this basement suite were very responsive, accommodating and friendly. We did not eat any meals there, but the kitchen is well equipped and modern. Our only “complaint”, was that the furniture was uncomfortable and saggy, making it difficult to sit in for an hour at a time. Accessibility to the back garden would definitely be a plus in the warmer months.

Perfect Pad for D.C. Touring
Daughter and I stayed for 7 nights. Located 2 blocks from National Cathedral in downstairs of 1920's Era house in well heeled and historical neighborhood. Super easy access to metro transit and minutes from the subway. Kitchen ideally supplied with utensils. Large 4k TV with basic digital OTA programming and internet TV. Can stream from TV. Two super comfy beds with a hideaway couch bed in living room. Keep in mind pad is in basement section of house so if you're looking for a view you're not gonna have one.
Overall a very great experience. Beats any new 5 over 1 plasticy condo or hotel!

RESOURCEFUL
The place was a perfect spot for buses, trains, bikes or uber and walking. We seen so much of DC but yet had a perfect home to stay in for the nights. The place was comfortable, quiet and so enjoyable. Hats off to this family and a neat place to stay.

Good and not so good.
Was disappointed in the cleanliness, dishes in dishwasher and floors not vacuumed. The property manager was quick and responsive.

Tourists refuge
We needed a place where my two teens and I could crash after long days of sightseeing, and this did not disappoint! It is located in a beautiful residential neighborhood with lots of street parking. Michael got me a parking permit promptly so I didn’t worry about getting a ticket, and promptly answered any questions I had! The property is two blocks from the 33 bus which takes you down into Georgetown, with a Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods on the line not too far away. My kids appreciated the Keurig coffee maker, and I appreciated the strong hot shower. The kids liked it- I liked it, and we would definitely stay there again!

Lovely spacious basement apartment
This was a fabulous apartment. I would definitely stay there again. The host was friendly and helpful. The 2 bedroom basement apartment was spacious and clean with its own entrance made it convenient to come and go without distributing anyone. It has a full kitchen. Parking was very easy. It was a great stay all the way around.

DC trip
The apartment was a great place to crash after a long day of sightseeing. The beds were comfortable, though I would have loved a bedside lamp for reading. Michael was a great host, very helpful with recommendations. Once we got the bus thing figured out, it was very easy to walk to the bus stop to get to where we wanted to go. The neighborhood was lovely and we felt extremely safe. All in all, a good place, I highly recommend it.

Comfy Stay in Georgetown
Roomy, clean, nice neighborhood and location (unless you need quick walking access to Metro; we did not). Ample street parking. Only suggestion is to eliminate the bugs in the 2nd bedroom.

We had high hopes for our stay however we weren't even able to stay the first night. There were multiple items of issue. The bathroom was filthy with hair in tub, on shower curtain, mold beside the tub & in back of toilet floor. The couches were stained. Overall 'musty' scent permeated the apartment. Window coverings were 'sheers' not very private. There were 'leftovers' in the fridge, which was also not very clean. The steps down to the basement apartment were very steep; not safe.We advised VRBO rep of these issues and they called property manager who sent us a text saying 'that we could leave at any time', so we did. The owner/property manager said he had been 'with the cleaning crew' prior to our check-in.

Rare to find a two bedroom in such a desirable location. Kind hosts have a great location and have decorated it for enjoyment. Stairs to main door could be challenge to some.
