About this apartment rental
As featured in The Telegraph online January 2018 - ‘Live like a local: why a holiday apartment is a great option for a Venice city break’ - by Fiona Duncan, Hotel Expert
Just when we thought our properties couldn’t be rivalled, along comes La Marchesa – the Belle of the Ball!
Dressed to perfection in the same sublime signature style that propelled VOV-owned Gondolieri, Ca’ Dell’Opera, Ca’ Dell’ Ulivo, Ca’ Del Teatro and Ca’ Della Luce into the upper echelons of the luxury rentals market, the striking La Marchesa has finally made her debut and from what we’ve seen already will enchant her future guests!
Discovered within a discreet network of little alleyways that you’d hardly know were there, yet merely moments away from the magnificence of St. Mark’s Square and Venice’s most vibrant designer boutique-laden thoroughfares where you can feast your eyes on Ferragamo, go gaga over Gucci, be bowled over by Bulgari, or pick the perfect piece at Prada - this brand new apartment sleeps 6+1 guests in 3(+1) bedroomed accommodation topped with a furnished ‘altana’ roof terrace for soaking up the Venice vibe.
Quietly luxurious styling with an ‘East meets West’ aesthetic is the order of the day and sets the tone throughout, while all the latest comforts and bespoke artisanal furnishings weave a haven of wellbeing - a holiday base where life is good!
Cloaked in tranquility yet an easy hop, skip and jump to the legendary Harry’s Bar, the bustling neighbourhood gondola station, the flamboyantly Baroque Church of San Moisè with its frosted cake-style frontage and, for those with a penchant for opera and history, the site of the once influential but long-disappeared Teatro San Moisè (1620-1818), La Marchesa’s air-conditioned* accommodation extends over 3 floors of the building and comprises –
Ground floor
• Its own exclusive entrance at the corner of the little square known as ‘Corte Barozzi’, opening into a vestibule hallway with a utility room* and private stairway rising to the
2nd floor and
• An impressively spacious open-plan and dual aspect sitting/dining room/well-equipped kitchen capturing the morning sun and decked out in an elegant pearl grey polished Marmorino with extensive timbers overhead, oak flooring with Moroccan-pattern Kilim underfoot, tall windows with decorative balustrades to the fore, and all lavishly furnished with meticulous attention to detail in cool tones, fine fabrics, and high-end accoutrements including a splendid pair of 19th century Neapolitan oil on canvas water scenes which gently draw the eye…
• A deluxe master bedroom/suite again featuring tall windows with decorative balustrades, softly lit by the glow of Oriental-style lanterns and dressed for relaxation & pleasure in fine Ikat fabric and peacock blue velvet, with a double bed (which can be divided into twins upon your request), a wardrobe, plus a cosy semi-separate studio area with a single sofa bed and a wardrobe.
• A pristine en suite ‘bathroom-to-top-all-bathrooms!’ in white Asiago marble, Arabesque tiling, and showcasing a delightful Middle Eastern-style archway leading to a bathtub with shower over, which beckons you to luxuriate and pamper to your heart’s content!
• A charming 2nd double bedroom in Tapet-Cafe ‘Deco Fan’ wallpaper and fabric and an indigo blue inspired by the traditional leather dyes of Fez, with a double bed (which again can be divided into twins upon your request), and a small writing desk tucked neatly beside a pretty mirror-and-fretwork fronted wardrobe
• A 2nd (separate) luxurious bathroom in turmeric and cream with a shower to the centre encased in ceramic fan-shaped tiling
• Stairway in teal blue Marmorino rising up to the
3rd floor and
• A very cute and characterful 3rd double bedroom showcasing Lewis & Wood’s exuberant ‘Adam’s Eden’ wallpaper and fabric, with twin beds resting beneath the beams, a built-in wardrobe to the side, and a smart en suite bathroom in matching décor with a separate shower set beneath a sloping beamed ceiling

• Stairway rising to the
Rooftop where you’ll find
• A spacious lantern-lit ‘altana’ roof terrace furnished with tables, chairs and an outdoor sofa, for breakfasting al fresco and apertivi beneath the stars!
* Note that the ground floor utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer for added convenience during longer stays at La Marchesa
Important: please note that the apartment only accepts fully supervised children over 6 years of age or under 1 year (non-walking babies) because of the internal stairs, ‘altana’ rooftop terrace.

The property and the amenities exceeded our expectations. It’s a wonderful property that is well appointed.

La Marchesa apt was everything we expected!!
The checkin with their representative was efficient and timely.
The location could not have been better… sharing the quiet small entrance courtyard with the lovely St Regis hotel!
The apt itself was a pleasure to stay in!
Immaculate and well appointed.
There are quite a few entrance stairs so arranging for a porter to help with luggage was a good decision!!!
Thank you to Views on Venice for helping make our stay so enjoyable!

We loved this apartment, it was the best place we stayed at during our multi city trip to Italy. It was luxurious, roomy, and a great location, and price was fair. Perfect for 5 or more people. Thank you

We kicked off a 10-day Italian vacation with extended family in Venice and this was the perfect way to start it off. Property is in the best location; and AC worked great, which is a must in the summer. Staff was also so helpful/friendly and made everything so easy. Thanks for a great stay!

Our family stayed here. Adult children and significant others. Home was very nice and clean. Great location. We were all very comfortable. Communication and check in was easy. Would definitely stay here again.

Location can’t be better. Service was excellent . Very comfortable beds. Good linen and towels. A little expensive, but if you are looking for quality its worth it . Beware you have to walk up 28 steps to reach first floor . We are an elderly couple but we had no problem with the stairs. This is our second stay with Views on Venice. Both times the apartments were excellent quality . Problems were dealt with in a very prompt way
A glass door over the bathtub in main bathroom so as not to wet the floor is necessary‼️please do NOT put plastic curtains you would be degrading the house

We loved our 4-night stay at the beautiful and peaceful La Marchesa House. The spacious 3-bedroom 3-bathroom apartment is exquisitely furnished in a classic Venetian style that made us feel like we were living in a museum! We utilized the well-equipped kitchen to prepare a few meals and really enjoyed the roof-top terrace in the early morning and evening. We especially appreciated the comfortable beds, roomy bathrooms with luxurious rainfall shower-heads, the convenience of a washer/dryer laundry room on the lowest level separate from the living areas, and an effective, powerful air conditioning system which provided us much-needed relief from the heat and humidity. Caterina was tremendous and we very much appreciated that she met us at the water-taxi station and led us on the short walk to the apartment, nicely showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment and explained how to navigate by ferry to Burano, and to the airport on our day of departure. Thank you, Caterina, it was a pleasure meeting you! We highly recommend La Marchesa Luxury House for an unforgettable living experience in the heart of Venice!
Mild suggestions: Although Caterina did a nice job of explaining the combination washer/dryer buttons, it was still a little confusing for us and so it would have been nice to have written instructions provided. Also, it would have been good if complimentary detergent was provided in the laundry room rather than the guests taking the time to purchase that product while on vacation.

We rented this property for a family vacation with our three sons (aged 19-23). We were looking for a place where everyone could have their own space and that was convenient to sights since we were only there for a few days. Boy did this property deliver. Bathrooms, bedrooms, everything was decorated and finished like a fine hotel. Management was efficient and communicative throughout whole process. They helped us arrange transportation, we were met at the dock by a lovely rep who provide orientation, and they went out of their way with special requests. And the location! Next to St. Regis Hotel and a quiet square, but steps from everything. A special part of the place is the outside deck on the roof. A real luxury in Venice. In short, ideal location, beautiful apartment, and professional management!

The apartment was spectacular - the living area, bedrooms and bath. The furnishings and decorations were fantastic and comfortable. A Venetian dream. The location was perfect for our family. Cristina was so responsive and helpful in planning and organizing our tours and dinners.
Nothing - would stay with you again.

This is a true gem!! The description and photos don’t do it proper justice. We had a two week stay in Italy and this was hands down my favorite location. Everything that could be necessary— including a rolling shopping cart — was included in this home. The house mgr was very accommodating and readily arranged for all of our tours and transportation. This home was extremely well appointed — luxury sheets and bathrooms with a tub, strong showers and hot water, open spaces for family gatherings while plenty of room for individual down time. Located directly behind the main shopping venues and tourist locations with an easy walk from the water taxi. The wifi is not strong — which is the case is ALL of Italy given what I presume is the inability to create the modern infrastructure for same given the historical structures and landmarks — and there is no water view (which was not promised). Extremely safe at all times of day and night and loved the main floor laundry. This place was perfect and we would stay again without hesitation. Thank YOU!!!

Our family enjoyed staying at La Marchesa during our time in Venice. We loved how attentive the property manager Annalisa was & how she was so helpful with a few small issues we encountered about using the stove/washing machine. The apartment was super close to everything in the San Marco area. It was nice to has amazing AC we could turn on each time we returned for the day. We also loved that they arranged a private water taxi to & from the train station. The only thing to note is there are many stairs to get to the living areas (heavy luggage could be difficult for some).

This is one of the nicest VRBO‘s we have ever stayed in—— aesthetically beautiful, spacious, luxurious, prime location yet quiet. The hosts were very communicative and available by text. Highly highly recommended!!!!!

Location was especially nice as it was adjacent to the St Regis- and their bellman were very helping in assisting with water taxis to train station and also around the island. There is a local dock too- La Trinita - adjacent to the hotel dock. The St Regis has a great waterfront bar and restaurant. The apartment was beautiful - and well appointed. The photos are accurate. The AC worked very well in high temps. There are stairs to access the apartment. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

The apartment is conveniently located in the San Marco area and comfortably accommodated my wife and I along with our 5 daughters. It is clean with great showers for an Italian apartment and the beds were comfortable. Check in was easy once we located our host (he was a few minutes late). We have nothing but good things to say about this apartment.

This VRBO may actually be my favorite VRBO I’ve ever stayed at and I stay at a lot of them. It’s beautiful, in a fantastic location and the customer service is above and beyond fantastic! I would warn people that it’s a lot of stairs up and down, so if you have any limitations it may not be the best fit. The roof top patio is nice to sit out and enjoy some wine on. Every bedroom is very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen and sitting area is one large area that is comfortable and relaxing. My family all loved this home and our time there. Thank you.

This beautiful home has an incredible location minutes from San Marcos Square. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. The kids loved the loft! It’s on the 2nd and 3rd floor of a building so may not be a great option for someone who has trouble with stairs. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

Great location. Close to major sites, but off beaten path from crowds so is very quiet. Clean, well-appointed. Would definitely stay again.

We were 3 couples in Venice for a few days before a cruise. The apartment was charming and in a great location. It was so close to St. Marks square. One of the showers wasn’t working but it was a holiday so we made do. Fortunately there were 2 other showers. The upstairs bathroom is really small so you have to bring a chair in to see yourself in the bathroom mirror. But kind of quaint. There was not any coffee for the morning but the staff brought some over the next day. It was quiet and a really beautiful apartment. We enjoyed our stay.

This property was perfect for my family. We were traveling with kids and grandparents and this place could not be more gorgeous or spectacular. It is peaceful but a second to all the amazing things to see and do in Venice. We can’t wait to visit again.

We traveled with 6 people in total - 2 adults, and 4 children between the ages of 12-17. The apartment was located in a perfect place to take in all venice had to offer - we were a three minute walk to St Mark’s Square, and adjacent to fabulous shopping. The accommodations were lovely - more than enough space, a wonderfully appointed kitchen, and beautiful bathrooms.

This was a very comfortable and spacious apartment. It was very well equipped and a lot of thought had gone into the organization of the apartment and the needs of the guests. The furnishings and layout was of a very high standard. It was close to the shops and cafes and also very easy to get to the water taxi. I would be very happy to return to this apartment.

We had a fabulous time in Venice, such a beautiful place!
La Marchesa house was just perfect, so close to everything, it had everything you need and the beds are so comfortable!
I’d highly recommend this apartment and the service from Views on Venice was great! We had to reschedule our holiday due to Covid and they were so accommodating and helpful.

Travel during Covid
We booked this property more than a year ahead of our trip, not being sure what the virus situation would be. We wanted to be able to shelter with each other if necessary and yet to visit Venice. The apartment looked lovely on line and lived up to its promise. The hotel management staff made it very easy to get to and from the water taxis. Without them, we probably wouldn’t have been able to find the apartment, but once we were oriented it was fine. It should be noted for older guests that the apartment is two flights above ground. My husband and I are in our 70s and we did all right but we are in pretty good shape. We would definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to visit Venice in the future.

Perfect in every way
This was the most beautiful VRBO property I have ever stayed in. It is a gorgeous and private house amongst the bustle of Venice. The hosts went out of their way to make it easy for us to get to the house and get to the airport brutally early on our morning of departure. I love this property and can’t wait to come back.

Quintessential Venice
The apartment was in a perfect location close to San Marco yet hidden from the crowd. Sophisticated and traditional, Venice in its essence.

Perfection!
Location, location, location! Clean, well appointed, convenient. Loved the roof deck and the proximity to the St. Regis.
Washer and other laundry facilities were a plus.
The sweet young man who checked us in was a delight, with plenty of good live recommendations and the book of instructions and guidance was a definite plus. We highly recommend this apartment!

Views on Venice is the BEST!
I have rarely had a better customer service experience than I did with Views on Venice (and my particular contact, Cristina)
The apartment was lovely, clean and exactly as advertised. As we were traveling with three kids it was so much nicer to be in an apartment than in a hotel. Beds were comfortable, finishes were high end and nothing was lacking.
Views on Venice made everything easy. They sent a lovely woman to meet us at our dock and show us around the apartment. They sent another woman to help us check out. We needed babysitters and they found two wonderful babysitters whom my kids loved! The kids were so happy with the sitters that my husband and I got time to ourselves each evening. The company is run by Venetians and so they are truly helpful answering questions about Venice.
I can’t recommend them highly enough and I am already planning a return trip to Venice because they made the entire experience so nice!

Amazing staff and fabulous accommodation
Really great house in the very heart of San Marco area. Quiet at night but a stone's throw from the sites. Very luxurious with everything you need. Marta and her colleagues were excellent from booking right through to leaving us at the water taxi for our return flight. Would not hesitate to recommend Views on Venice to anyone. For a group visit this is an excellent option.

La Marchesa
Wow! What an incredible stay at a wonderful home! I was on the fence for this place - was the extra cost worth it? Did it really look that good? Was it close to anything? It was wonderfully designed and close to everything. We felt like we could walk to all major destinations but if we needed a water taxi, it took a 2 minute walk to get us to a boat. It is near the St, Regis and just in a wonderful location! And the house was just stunning… and those beds and pillows were heavenly. I have never slept in a bed as comfortable as the one I have at home… but these were fantastic. Highly recommend booking this place and hope to come back!
