Beautiful surroundings in the midst of pristine nature. Many tracks cross the area where the property is, so if you're up to hiking you can start straight away. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included is a plus.
The property is quite big and can host hundreds of guests. Surprisingly there's no kitchen for them (!). There's only a side table with a microwave in the lounge, a few cups, a kettle, a few plates and some cutleries. There's one fridge in the lounge for vending purposes (water, beer, soft drinks etc). You can ask the front desk to store your perishables in there, but it's kept padlocked, so every time you want to access your stuff you have to ask them to unlock it, which is a nuisance. If your stay is short (1, 2 days) it should be OK, but in my case (17 days in total) it was a critical issue, specially because the property is located in a remote area. The closest supermarket is 20km away through a narrow winding road. There are scarce options to eat in the close by village, specially in low season, which was my case. Still, if you choose to stay in a hostel it means you're on a shoestring, therefore you expect to have your own meals at the hostel in order to save up. I've stayed in countless hostels around the world for the last 3 decades and this is the first one I come across with no kitchen (!).
The wi-fi connection is good in the lounge and living room. However, it worked erratically in the bedroom I stayed, which was located in a separate lodge away from the main building.
There was no socket in the upper bunk bed. You'll want to recharge your mobile overnight while you're sleeping, so you better off asking to have a lower bunk bed. There were only 2 sockets in a bedroom for 4 guests (2 bunks).

1. The territory of the hostel is very pleasant.
2. Liked the breakfast.
3. At night the heating was turned on and it was warm.
4. The hostel is located very close to a very interesting ethnographic museum.
5. This is a convenient place to live and walk in the mountains.
1. I was guided by the name of the hostel and I did not correctly understand where it is located. I arrived in the evening by bus to the Geres village and after that I had to walk for 3 hours through the mountains to the hostel.
2. I missed the kitchen where I can cook my own lunch or dinner.

Location is excellent!
The smell in the room , the quality of beds, noise from neighbors

A bit far from the city of Gerês

Breakfast was great and the hostel was at the heart of the Geres area, and with some hiking trails close by within walking distance
The place is a bit isolated and you probably need private transport to move around especially for meals (eg dinner).

The location is stunning both because of the beauty of the mountains and the character of the village.
Catia, on reception made a big difference to our trip by helping us get organised with local transport and by offering us a friendly welcome.
Our party all have healthy appetites and the excellent breakfast set us up for the day
The only small issue with our stay was that we could not check in before 17:00 when we believed that check in time was 15:00.

it’s clean, good breakfast, good enough to start morning. beautiful territory
some mattresses needs to be replaced urgently. some of them are so old and sagging, you can see it has a big hole in it.

I really enjoyed the view and the place where Pousada is, very quiet, calm and peaceful. The hostel is close to the starting point of the trails and to the village, where you can eat or drink something. The included breakfast was not so diverse but still good to start the day.
The bathroom has just very hot water with no option for cold water, which in the summer is a problem.

Nice location near the mountains and hiking trails. And a little village with a cute restaurant that you can reach within 10 minutes by foot. Also the take-away breakfast from the hostel for early hiking tours is amazing. Nice people, too!

The room was very clean and it was very quiet, as the accommodation is located in the middle of nature. Even though we were probably only two guests in the accommodation at the moment, they prepared a pretty nice breakfast for us. Totally recommend!
