The front office staff. All staff were extremely polite and helpful.
The property needs urgent refurbishment and is crumbling. There were ants crawling all over the floor at night and was a terrible experience stepping over ants on my way to the loo at night. The water heater was not working well. The showerhead was past it's prime. After three minutes you start getting lukewarm and then cold water. The ac in my room 113 had to be serviced on day 2 of my stay. It's a shame that such a lovely property is going to dust. Kenya is the fruit bowl to the world and at breakfast this property serves fruit squash with water. After I pointed this out I got fresh juice as I was checking out on my last breakfast.

spacious gardens, private , 2 lovely swimming pools with sun loungers , large furnished terrace. Great location for exploring Malindi. As most of the apartments in the hotel are taken up by residential long stay guests who don’t use all the facilities there is a calming peaceful atmosphere.
For us it was perfect. just what was needed for a restful mini-break after a busy festive season. (it should be noted for those not familiar with this area, the hotel is on the beach which is rugged and the shoreline is some distance across the dunes )

The scenery, this place is well surrounded by nature, it’s massive which gives it more lux vibes, stunning swimming pool at the entrance, perfect suites size, the decor is dreamy in the suites we stayed at.
the stuff wasn’t prompt or well aware what’s going on, the place could be more clean! the electricity went off for 3 hours and the generator they had barely supported the lights! so no AC or fan for that long, sleeping was quite hard and annoying and they didn’t seem to care honestly when we mentioned it.

The property is centrally located and is very close to major landmarks.
The rooms are big and well furnished. The swimming pools and gardens are clean and well maintained with courteous staff.
Lunch offerings are lovely and the Coconut Prawn Curry is something else, highly recommend.
Anthony and Hellen take the crown when it comes to excellent service and customer care; the beach is a bit of a walk but when you get to it, it is very clean though it appears to be a part of the Bermuda Triangle where all vessels choose to get stranded, quite eerie.
The welcome drink and check in process was great…
Breakfast was very very poor and service was extremely slow, albeit the lady was very friendly and pleasant all through.
The beds in apartment 208 were extremely creaky and the matresses were awful, I had a back ache all through my stay. The beds on the lower floor in 108 were great.
Cleanliness is next to Godliness and the rooms and verandah’s could have been cleaner.

The villa was amazing and so unique .Rooms very big and comfy beds.Showers with hot water .
Breakfast was very poor in n .To go to the beach it is far. I booked a sea view and it wasn't .
The owner was very Rude and arrogant with all of us. At the end of our stay she tried to apologize but it was too late for that .Maybe that is why the resort was empty.

The room, surrounds and staff were amazing. The staff helped us out with a cot last minute when ours got lost en route and were always very upbeat, friendly and helpful. You felt welcome and part of the community. The pools are lovely as is the beach section.
The food at the restaurant could have been better.

Excellent Stay. We had the entire place to ourselves. The staff were really nice and food at their restaurant was tasty too. The room was clean and tidy. A bit of dim lighting but that's okay because heaps of natural lighting during the day.

Overall it met my expectation. Some missing basic items such as Microwave in the room can be corrected.

I love the individual houses. Very well furnished, clean, and well stocked for family vacation. Ideal if you have a unit with its own pool
The staff are not forthcoming starting from the Overall Manager. It appears you really have to look for staff to attend to you in the areas shared by all guests. The service level need to be improved

Our stay was nothing short of excellent! The location is great as you are close to the shopping centers and access to beach! Value for money definitely. However, there is room for development with the breakfast options and quality.

Towels for the pool was accessible only at the reception.
Consider having pool towels closer to the pool instead of the reception for easier access....

The staff, the pool, the band...
Mosquitoes. That spray called Family is a Hoax. It only irritates your throat

The room was very spacious and cleaned throughly.
It's quite silent and peacefully
For those who loved private gateway's, this is the plug
The beach isn't really in use as the waters were red due to outpour was told from a river , feels more fishing Beach

Location is okay. The staff could not cope with the number of visitors. One had to wait long to get food
Get more staff and cutlery to meet demand. Prepare better for the number of guest they are hosting

The staff were super helpful and Maurice so ho was assigned to the villa we stayed at saw to it that we were as comfortable as count be.
Long walk to our villa, a golf cart option would’ve been great 🤗

The management of this hotel is very poor. The staff was kind, but untrained and not proactive. Management was not present.
Housekeeping and general cleanliness of the hotel and its facilities was very poor.
- The cleaners came at random times. They forgot to bring new towels and the cleaning was very haphazard. They left the veranda door open and the AC on when they left.
- The pools did not seem to have a very good cleaning system and the water was yellowish.
- There were lots of mosquitos and flies at the pool areas and hotel restaurant
Considering Covid-19, the lack of attention to hygiene was very surprising.
The service and standard of the hotel restaurant was not up to standard.
- The restaurant ran out of food for breakfast several days and service was extremely slow.
- The last day my son and I got a food poisoning at the restaurant at dinner.
The mattress in the bed was very uncomfortable. Probably the worst we've ever had.
- We could feel the wood right through the mattress. We asked to get it changed three times, and then we just got another just as poor mattress on top of the first one.
We will not stay here again.

The room's veranda
A well-established property that went broke a few years ago, got sold and is now running on a tether. Very badly managed, unmotivated staff, breakfast on a shoe-string with instant coffee and old fruit cut days before. Poor water pressure, and generator backup only during night time.
A formerly glorious hotel that has landed badly courtesy to bad ownership and incompetent management. Overpriced and to be avoided.

The breakfast was fresh every morning
1) Delay at breakfast. Breakfast running out and clients had to wait. Not enough cutlery, we had to wait to get dishes recycled before serving breakfast. Not enough tables to accommodate guests during breakfast. Not properly informed about what additional charges there are over and above the breakfast rate (cappuccino was at an additional cost)
2) Rooms - the pictures on the net are deceiving compared to what is actually on the ground
3) There was racism on who gets preferential treatment
4) Swimming pool towels had a charge
5) Terrible cleaning of the rooms - my room had no big size towels for four days after continuously requesting for them. Towels arrived on the last night before departure.
6) Customer service from the staff - very slow without solutions.
7) Poor communication between Booking Dot Com and the Lawfords. My booking was very clear about B&B, yet Lawfords were charging me for breakfast.
8) Charges for new years party at the beach yet we were residents at the hotel

The Villa was exceptional. The Manager Francesca was amazing and helpful always. The Staff were helpful and friendly. The lawns, pools and beach areas were beautiful and not crowded.
The cooker had 2 banners not funtioning, the food is not great. Very small portions and static no creativity.
