About this cabin rental
Look no further if a true Minnesota cabin experience is what you're after. Once you arrive, the path to the "Stairway to Heaven" will quickly make you realize why you made the trek Up North. This 1940’s cabin was fully renovated in the winter of 2018 and is essentially brand new inside and out, but the charm of the original cabin has been maintained and is evident throughout. You get the true cabin feel as you enter the main level which combines the family room and dining area for an open, yet cozy feel. The wood-burning fireplace on the main level will warm you up quickly on those cooler nights (firewood included). Enjoy meals at the dining room table or grab a book and snuggle up in front of the fireplace or on the built-in bench; all while overlooking Brown's Bay. This level also includes a custom-made Murphy bed that converts to a game table for chess and checkers matches. The quaint kitchen packs all of the amenities you could need, including stainless steel appliances along with a double-drawer beverage fridge. The main level also includes a full bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower and additional storage.
The excitement builds as you head up the spiral stairs to the master bedroom, your expectations will most definitely be met as you feel on top of the world all while overlooking Sibley Lake from every angle. You can head out onto the balcony to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine and take in amazing sunset views. The master bathroom has been fully remodeled to include a farmhouse sink, walk-in tiled shower with glass doors and jetted sprays. You will not want to get out of bed in the morning as you will wake up and want to take in all of the beauty that surrounds this room.
As you head back down the spiral staircase, you will then head outside down the exterior staircase into the lower level of the house where you will find Bob’s bar, a perfect spot to hang out with your friends and family or sit and relax and enjoy a movie or game on the flat screen TV. This room also has a leather couch that pulls out into a queen-size bed to allow for additional sleeping space.
As you head out of the lower level you will walk across the patio to the upper boat house. This will likely be the kids or maybe the parents favorite place to hang out as it will feel like their little getaway space. The boathouse has built-in bunk beds, along with a day bed for comfortable sleeping. You will feel like you are sleeping on the water as the boathouse is situated just steps away from the lakeshore.
As you head out of the cabin, you are just steps away from the dock that is perfect for fishing, swimming, and relaxing. Head out for a cruise around the lake or to the sand bar on the 2019 Sylvan fish and cruise pontoon (rental of cabin includes the pontoon boat). Everyone loves a good campfire and s'mores, so the shoreline also boasts a firepit and Adirondack chairs to enjoy the fire and the lake views on those beautiful Minnesota summer evenings. Finally, the cedar sauna house and patio are a perfect place to begin or end your day. With beautiful views of Sibley Lake, relax and enjoy some quiet time away from all the hustle and bustle.
For those that like to stay connected or to not miss the Wild, Twins, Vikings, United, or T-Wolves games, both the main and lower-level bar have high-definition TV’s with DirectTV or streaming with free fast Wi-Fi.
This property is perfect for a family, or an extended family, or a couple’s getaway. Upon reservation confirmation you will receive a complete list of what to bring, so you are prepared for your time at the lake. Please feel free to inquire with any questions you may have and will promptly reply. We pride ourselves on maintaining our property and keep it in excellent condition, we are certain we will exceed your expectations in this regard. Since we also live across the lake from the cabin, should any questions or issues arise we can respond quickly.
NOTE: There are a number of stairs on the property as you will see in the photos. We purchased the cabin from folks in their 90’s so we believe these stairs keep you young. There is a hill tram conveniently located to help bring people, supplies and luggage up and down from street level to the cabin and is available for use year-round.
NOTE: The pontoon is in the water, and use is included in the stated rental rates, from approximately mid-May to mid-October (weather dependent).
NOTE: The main cabin includes a central air heating and cooling system. The bunkhouse includes a ductless split that provides both heat and cooling.

We had everything we needed to enjoy a week together before the kids went back to college. It’s impossible to be bored here, there was always something to do. Our top favorites were taking pontoon rides and hanging out in the sauna. The communication with the host was fantastic, we will definitely be back again!

Beautiful cabin! I few small issues with the bricks on the stairs but owners were very attentive. Lovely place

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Brown’s Bay cabin! It’s an incredible, historic and beautifully renovated, property! We found Jon and Krista to be amazing hosts; responsive, capable and kind!
We enjoyed great fishing off the dock, pontoon rides on the lake, bird watching, amazing sunsets, the canoe and kayak, fire pit, morning walks and the proximity to town. Our teenager enjoyed the privacy afforded by the boathouse.
This is truly one of the best rentals we’ve experienced! It’s clean, stylish, well cared for and such a smart use of space. Plus, our dog could join us!
There are shops, dining and a good grocery store right in Pequot Lakes. There’s more in nearby Nisswa.
I highly recommend this property and hope to return.

Really charming and cute house, beautiful lake. Just what we wanted. The Television connection to the WiFi rarely worked, but seemed to be a new issue they had, I assume will be fixed after our stay.

Loved our long weekend at this cabin. It's so charming and peaceful! Already booked again in Aug.

My wife and I had an amazing time at browns bay cabin for her birthday. The cabin was very clean and recently updated with all the amenities you could ever need. The boat was an awesome add on and the tram to get bags and groceries up and down the hill was a life saver. We will definitely be staying again!

Cabin was everything stated. Very clean and comfortable. Easy and accessible comunication with the owners. Highly recommended if your not afraid of steps. The electric trolly was very helpful. The only thing i would recommed is to stop and get bait before you get to Pequot Lakes. The bait shop didn't have any bait the 3 days we were there

Just perfect! Had everything we needed to enjoy Memorial Weekend. We loved that it was close to Nisswa.

Beautiful property, everything as expected. It rained 4 of the 5 days. We were still able to cook out and entertain with games and tv.

Krista was a fantastic host. This was our first trip since our son was born. The cabin was such a lovely place to recharge and focus on enjoying each other’s company. Check-in and check-out were a breeze and Krista sent all sorts of recommendations for things to get out and do during our stay. We will definitely be back.

We traveled from home in Texas to Pequot Lakes, MN for 5 days -- after Xmas and through the New Year. We are very familiar with the area as my in-laws once lived there. The property and cabin are wonderful! Krista is a great host -- great directions/info and let us know the ins and outs of the cabin before we arrived. The cabin is also furnished with just about everything you need to stay...except for food, drink, etc. There are also a lot of amenities there as well...though we didn't get a chance to sample them all. The only *issue* -- and it's really not an issue, simply something that elderly folks or those with mobility issues might need to know -- is that the cabin is down by the lake and it's a short, but steep trek down the cement steps to get to it from garage where you park. For the record, my Mother-in-law who is 81 was with us and had very little issue navigating the steps. A+ property, highly recommended by our family, and we would definitely stay again on our next trip up!

Worked remotely from the lake cabin for a week. Wifi and Internet worked great. The cabin is thoughtfully stocked and meticulously maintained. This was the best VRBO I've stayed at. Thanks to Krista for being a professional host.

We had our eye on staying here for more than two years and the stars finally aligned and we were able to make it happen. My wife and I agreed that this is the best VRBO experience we've ever had. The host was incredible and communicated with us constantly, with clear instructions, tips and even information on the area's goings-on that weekend. The place itself is exactly what we wanted - clean, comfortable and, most importantly, unique. The property is one of a kind, a distinctive home. Awesome grill. Cozy bunkhouse. Luxurious yet rustic sauna. Great area for grilling out. Easy access to town for coffee and supplies (we brought our bikes and pedaled to the shops). It was simple to jump in the pontoon boat and take a relaxing spin around the lake, too. At night, we noshed on s'mores by the waterside fire pit. An interesting and much-appreciated bonus was the service cart that takes supplies and luggage up and down the steep hill, to and from the cabin. We loved every second of our stay and dream of going back some day.

We so enjoyed our stay at this darling cabin! It is so cozy & comfortable, beautifully decorated with all the conveniences you would want. Cleanliness is really important to me, as is the comfort of the bed and the sheets, all of those things did not disappoint! Highly recommend! There are a lot of stairs, that was fine for us but may not be fine for everyone. We are active seniors and brought our 10 year old dog. Krista, the host, was most responsive, very impressive. We would definitely go here again.

We had a wonderful time! We loved the place and the setting. We took the pontoon out for a sunset cruise - lovely fall color - and paddled all around the lake in the canoe. I even got to take a short swim. The accommodations were so cozy and comfortable. My husband especially loved the boat house.

Had an amazing time. The cabin was everything we expected. The boat was fantastic, very well kept and easy to use. The fishing was great. The close proximity to town was also a plus. Nothing but great things to say. The hosts were very helpful and we look forward to coming back.

My family and I really enjoyed this property! The neighbors can be quite loud but it didn’t detract from our experience. The owners have gone out of their way to make this a pleasant experience!!!

Everything you need to have an incredible vacation is here. FYI…there are a lot of steps, so if you have someone who is unable to walk a lot of steps, it would be difficult for them. But, we had a wonderful time and you can’t beat the views.

The cabin is perfect for a small family. We had a wonderful time! The boat is very nice and in great condition. The grocery store and gas station are right down the road so it’s super convenient. Lots of fun restaurant choices in the area as well. The cabin was very clean and everything was as expected in the listing. We would love to come back!

The listing was accurate and prepared us for the stairs. We didn’t mind them…the cart to bring luggage down was super helpful!!! The decor of the cabin was nice and it was very clean. The kids liked sleeping in the boat house and didn’t mind having to go outside to get back to the main house to use the bathroom.
THE PONTOON IS VERY NICE!
Beautiful lake and excellent host.
Everything was well kept.

We spent a week in the house, and loved every minute of it. My son loved the boat house and we liked watching movies at night in the basement. The boat on the property was a fabulous amenity and the lake was absolutely gorgeous. The host was top notch (very communicative) and this really sets the property apart from others. The property is located about 20 minutes from a large town and Amazon delivers (total plus for items we forgot). We loved the house, location and the family bonding time. If you’re considering this house, don’t look any further because you found it!

The cabin was very cute and unique. It worked great for our family. The location was so convenient and having the boat to use was key with getting teenagers to enjoy outside.

We had a great stay at this beautiful and quiet cabin. Lake and cabin were wonderful.

We absolutely loved this property. It felt like a storybook cottage. It was so welcoming and clean, the boathouse bunk room was perfect for the older teens to sleep, nice cold AC on a 90 degree day. The pontoon is very nice! The stairs were fun and gave us good exercise! Comfortable beds and bedding, nice showers, beautiful dock. I’d definitely rent again.

Beautiful house, friendly hosts, fun gorgeous lake with swimming beach. All around wonderful stay, I would recommend it to anyone.

Just as nice or nicer than the photos. So many thoughtful touches made this a very fun experience for our family of 5 plus dog. So nice to have the pontoon and other water craft included. Didn’t need to leave at all!

Listing didn’t do it justice…it was even more idyllic. Top three vacations we’ve ever taken with our now adult daughter. Felt like we were living in a postcard. Having access to the pontoon added a whole new level of experience. Hosts were superb - provided fire wood, Traeger pellets…everything we needed. Convenient grocery, bait shop, liquor store. Don’t miss out on this one!!

Great cabin and amenities. Beautiful view from clean and cozy cabin on the lake. Outstanding host and upgrades. Would highly recommend!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. Comfortable and decorated so cute. We were able to enjoy the last days of warm weather cruising the beautiful lake in the spectacular pontoon. We loved the charm of the meddling of old and new in the cabin. You do need to be able to manage stairs. Our dog wouldn’t even try the spiral stairs to the bedroom which was unfortunate for us. Silly boy.

I would highly recommend this cozy cabin! Excellent location and the views are insanely beautiful. You will find yourself literally on the edge of the lake! We were well taken care of and the property manager was wonderful! She shared detailed information (cabin videos, must do activities, information on town happenings, etc). The sauna is a must, such a treat!! It was quiet, cozy, and relaxing…we wish our stay could have been longer!

Even though the weather didn’t cooperate we had an amazing time!

The property and pontoon boat were beautiful, in excellent condition and very well equipped. The only caution I would have is for travelers with any mobility or balance issues. The stone stairs, both to the cabin and from the cabin to the lake/fire pit, are super charming but are very long, steep and lack hand rails. There is a tram to transport luggage from the parking area down to the cabin but it can't be used by people. We are in good health in our 60s but definitely struggled a bit with the stairs.
