Gemütliche Atmosphäre

Schöne Anlage mit vielen süßen Katzen und Hunden. Toller Pool. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter, die einen bei allen Fragen unterstützen.

Die Unterkunft ist etwas weit von Strand und Restaurants (min 25 Min zu Fuß) entfernt, ohne Auto daher nicht zu empfehlen. Badtür hat offene Schlitzen, d.h. man hört alles und hat wenig Privatsphäre. Klimaanlage direkt über dem Bett und sehr laut. Abendessen nicht an Wochenenden verfügbar. Frühstück wenig abwechslungsreich.

The name suits the place..

Ann Christine, Aurelia and Noah are such Lovely hosts and adorable people.. so welcoming to all the guests. Mr Will even lent his car to us during our stay.. we thank you for making our stay comfortable.

Familiengeführte Unterkunft mit Abstrichen

Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das angebotene Essen war einfach aber lecker. In der Anlage gibt es sehr viele Tiere, für uns ein Pluspunkt, aber vielleicht nicht für jeden. Die Lage ist etwas abseits vom Zentrum - Mietauto essentiell.

Der Bungalow wird von zwei Parteien genutzt, es ist entsprechend hellhörig. Das Zimmer ist recht klein. Die Ausstattung überschaubar. Leider war das Zimmer auch nicht sehr sauber (z.b. noch Haarbüschel im Bad, Spiegel verschmiert, Tierkot auf dem Areal). Die Ausstattung könnte hier und da auch modernisiert werden.

We had an awesome stay at Shanti Ghar, loved the hike up the nearby mountain, and the fabulous staff

The staff were amazing, very friendly and made the stay wonderful. A guest house, not a hotel.

Would Definitley come back.

The hosts and managers have great recommendations. They always went out of their way to help. The place is great and the room size is OK.

There were cobwebs, and the dogs barked during the night.

Exceptional

It was the perfect place to start with our Mauritius trip. Zack, the host, gave us the best tips, without him we would never have known about the secret spots on the island. It is quite a magical and relaxing place. The very first evening we had a bonfire and dinner together. And the kids loved the animals. Thanks to the entire and lovely staff, including the two Dutch interns. ☺️

Look no further!

Amazing place, from room to the garden and common area, this was 100% my type of accommodation for vacation. Very chilled vibe, all guys who are working there are simply amazing and always smiling :) extra comfy bed. Ask for the room with a swing 😎

Welcoming guesthouse with kind and generous hosts

The hosts have been generous with advice and experience support, while also kind and active involved in making us comfortable at all times. They proactively provided catering for our nutritional requirements and we really appreciated the dinner together with a lively community experience, very tasty and inclusive. In general the guesthouse offered a good welcoming environment, the rooms especially were spotless clean. We loved all the pets! All the cats and dogs are super well behaved and quiet and we enjoyed their cuddles.

We loved this Place

Wonderful guest house, so relaxing and hospitable. We spent a great time there. Zac and Tom, that manage the house, are 2 kind and smart guys, you can ask them for suggestions about what to do or help to book any activity you want. 3 days per week they organize a dinner with all the guests. It's a very cool situation where you can speak and interacts with people from other countries about your experience in Mauritius. A lovely place with lovely people.

Don't miss this in Tamarin

Just fantastic. What a great discovery. We will definitely go back, hopefully many times. The beautiful home with its deep verandah, many shaded corners, warm and fun hosts, the loving dogs and cats, the views, the pool... This is tropical living at its best. Thank you dear Zack and family.

That we stayed only 3 nights. This place is worth a longer stay.

Accommodation cannot be faulted. However you really need your own transport to get around.

Everything was great. Garden lush and beautifully kept. The staff super friendly and extremely helpful -even offered to drive us to the shopping centre. The dinner on Thursday evening was delicious and it was a good opportunity to meet the other guests.

Superb

We had an amazing stay at the Guest House. Zack, his father and Tom were incredible hosts. They provided us a lot of local insights (e.g. lonely beaches, special hikes, restaurants). The dogs and cats are very respectful to the guest and do not disturb them. We also loved the shared fridge where you can take all kind of beverages for a fair price. However, we recommend to rent a scooter or a car for this location as it’s not directly at the beach.

Our happy place on Mauritius

We had a wonderful time at Shanti Ghar. The hosts are wonderful and you immediately feel very comfortable. We really loved everything (the animals, the garden, the guest house, the delicious food) and will definitely come again. We really liked the area around Tamarin. With a rental car you can reach many beautiful places quickly and easily. You quickly get used to the left-hand traffic. Thank you for the great tips and the recommendation to surf. We had so much fun surfing with Hugo. Thank you for the fantastic time we will remember forever!

Once surely a beautiful place, now not well maintained anymore

It was surely once a beautiful place, would have lots of potential

The place is missing the heart, or someone to care a bit more about making the best out of it. It could be a great place with a beautiful garden, however it’s not well maintained and the garden is overfilled with unuseful stuff, many out of plastic. Absolutely not inviting for spending time there, but only coming for sleeping. The rooms, furniture and especially the bathroom s could really use some renovations and a proper cleaning. Breakfast was disappointing, on such a beautiful island, not even some fresh local fruits are served or at least some boiled eggs which would really not take much time. But they do offer some little pastries. Constructive feedback is not well taken and reasons are always given for why things aren’t working. Mostly because this is how things are in Mauritius. We stayed in two other places and we can this isn’t quite right. What we thought it will be our best accommodation in Mauritius, turned out to be a big disappointment, not worth the money.

A liitle taste of paradise.

The room is spacious, but the soroundings are just a joy. Green, lush garden with access to the pool. It’s not hard to find, there is also parking behind the gates. The staff, Zach and his family are very welcoming and kind. just a great place to relax on your holiday.

Great place with great people!

Everything was great. The place, the people, the atmosphere. Absolutely a bit hidden gem. We really enjoyed the stay. Zack is a great and friendly host. Will help you with everything. Also, we appreciated chats with him about the island, culture etc. Place is also great. The pool is perfect. Very calm. We felt like at home! Definitely highly recommended! PS. if you like pets, it will be a great place for you!

It’s not about not liking, just a remark that although there is like 12 min walk to the beach, it is better to have own car. Just easier.

Superb

Shanti Ghar (Peaceful House) We had a wonderful stay at Shanti Ghar Guest House. The whole place is awesome. Makes you feel like you are at a home away from home. Very clean and well maintained. Spacious Bed Rooms and the Bath Rooms were clean and well kept. Very good house keeping. The Owners are very friendly and make you feel at home. They have a wonderful Swimming Pool and a Jacuzzi. The Swimming Pool, even though not very big, is perfect. If you are someone who loves Pets, then this is a place for you, They have a bunch of amazing Dogs, Cats and Hens who are very, very well trained and friendly. Self and my family, we had a wonderful stay and trust me, If I happen to visit Mauritius again, I would definitely prefer living at Shanti Ghar. Location is quiet good. It's neither too far nor close to the Airport or Port Louis (The City Centre). You will need a Car or a Bike to travel around. The only down side was the Breakfast, which they ought to make better. Had the absolutely best experience here! :)

My stay at Shanti Ghar Guest House couldn't have been more perfect: Zack & Yelena are awesome hosts who give the best (local) tipps for things to do in Tamarin and around (and help you organize different activities for yourself), tell you which restaurants have the best food and are ready to help you at all times in general. The guest house, outdoor spaces and my room were beautiful, clean and super cozy - definitely the best place to stay at in Tamarin! Next time I'm in Mauritius, I'll definitely stay here again :)

Totally recommend!

Our stay was really nice. The facilities with the garden, terrace, pool and all the commonly used areas create a really cozy atmosphere and invite to hang out at the property. The room was spacious and clean as well. Zack and his family were super kind and helpful at any time, a great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at shanti ghar guest house!!!! They made our holiday perfect!!! this place with the wonderful pool and the frangipani trees...we couldn’t wish for more!!! Thx for all!! We had the family room (we were travelling with our two boys 3.5 and 1 year old) Thank you and we hope to come back one day!!!

Place to return again

Nice place, cozy, clean and comfortable. I really lacked a confident knowledge of English or French to communicate in a good company👍. I'll be back.

I didn’t like that I asked to arrange a meeting at the airport, we agreed, but no one met😡 and did not even warn that there would be no meeting. As a result, they were late for the New Year's meeting by 11 minutes (search time for the meeting car). The rest is very good.
