Great for families
Great for families
I grew up in the area so it’s where I wanted to stay to visit my Calgary family and friends. My Mom and I stayed there and had lots of space for all visitors. The house is a little tired and some things should be fixed/replaced ie dishwasher and fireplace also for older folks you may want to consider the bathing situation. There are two bathtubs with showers but no walk in shower so my mom (83) was unable to have one. Bathtubs are deeper than average...just an FYI but on the flip side if you have kids, great tubs! I had a few questions regarding the house so had to call Susan a few times and she was very responsive.

Great location, good space but needs some TLC
Great location, good space but needs some TLC
We booked the property for almost three weeks over Christmas. We paid for an extra night so my brother could come in early and we could check out late. My brother arrived to a house that was filthy and had to spend a couple of hours cleaning. When I arrived the house was still dirty- after 30 hours of travelling and more than 5k spent I had to wipe walls down (food on walls and cupboards), clean bathrooms and generally feel like I could eat and sleep. When we complained Susan said the prior guests had trashed the place. I had to complain a second time in order to get an offer of a clean at Susan’s expense. Once this was done the house was better and more liveable. For the price I think the house needs some love. For example the rugs on the floor are really dirty and the curtains are shabby. There are door handles missing on furniture, nowhere to put your luggage. It just needs an update. The kitchen is great but lacking in serving bowls and the cupboards are full of things that other people leave behind, a lot out of date. Susan is a very responsive host and overall the house was great for our large family. We were toasty warm in minus 22 weather and enjoyed our stay in Calgary. The location is incredibly convenient and close to everything. It is not shown in the pictures or mentioned that the house backs on to an extremely busy street. This was fine in winter when the house is closed up, but I think road noise would be an issue in summer.

Excellent location, very comfortable house
Excellent location, very comfortable house
We (a family of 7 with small children) stayed here for two months and had a great time. The house is comfortable and has many nice bedrooms. The kitchen is well-appointed with anything you need for cooking; we especially enjoyed using the gas grill out back. It is a short walk to the C-Train and convenient to a nice indoor shopping mall and, importantly, the shortest walk to a ToysRUs. It's also very close to Southland Leisure Center, which has a fantastic swimming pool that we used regularly. Everyone in the family had a blast and enjoyed weekend getaways to Canmore, Banff, and Jasper. Thanks, Sue, for a great stay!!
