The location was absolutely perfect. Surrounded by breathtaking views and peaceful landscapes, it provided the ideal setting for a relaxing weekend. We were also pleased to find a convenient parking space right behind the accommodation. The check-in process was easy.
The main issue we encountered was the lack of hot water. On the first morning, we discovered there was no hot water at all, and by the time we returned later in the day, nothing had changed. After some trial and error on our part, we realized the boiler had been set on a timer. Unfortunately, this wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the property information or guidebook, so we had to figure it out ourselves. Once we reset the boiler, it took another hour for the water to heat up. Even then, the shower was either too hot to stand under or freezing cold, with nothing in between. The water pressure was also so low that washing our hair became nearly impossible. This frustrating situation continued throughout the weekend, and not all showers even managed to get hot water.
Another minor disappointment was with the Nespresso machine. Although it was a nice touch to have it available, there were no pods provided. The pods that fit this machine could only be purchased online and weren’t available in any of the local supermarkets. It would have been a thoughtful gesture to provide at least a few pods to make use of the machine.

It’s in walking distance to shops & restaurants and located close to the Lake.

Great location
The sheets were full of black hairs, the shower curtain was covered in black mould, part of the top floor toilet wall was broken, the ironing board was broken, none of the bathrooms had any soap & the dishwasher smelt awful. Everything needed updating the beds were unclean overused and old.

Close to village, shops and lake
Parking at back, very difficult to locate and position, on road parking, also a nightmare. Arrived on time for check in, yale key access was hidden behind a decorative lionhead, which was stiff. Couldn't gain access easily, tired, wet and needing the loo, phoned Sykes for advice, 4 phone calls and 2 hours later, no call back to help us, eventually on revisiting the door we managed to get the key to work. Received call back from Sykes the following day. Will avoid Sykes in the future, customer service was very poor.

Perfect location for bowness centre.
Beds a bit soft. Reported the toilet not flushing properly but management company didn't come to fix it.

We were self catering and we didn’t meet the hosts as there was a key safe. We liked the decor in the house even though it looked a little tired in places. The location was great.
There were 4 of us , all adults, staying and we all required our own rooms. All were good except the single room on the top floor which was really meant for children and not adults. This wasn’t made clear on the website. So all the toys stored in the wardrobe had to be removed first so that clothes could be hung . We took them all to the basement as the room was so small. Then we discovered the piece of dowl to hang the hangers on was missing. So that was again disappointing. It should be emphasised on the website that the one room is only for children.
Also the heating was on when we arrived at the house , but after the first night it never came on again even though the evenings were cold. We didn’t understand the notices about the Hive!!

Location excellent
Parking wasn't good. Couldn't park near the property.Space at the back not easy to get into due to cars parked outside garage at the sides.

Small kitchen but well equipped.

The location was very good, parking a bit tricky with only 1 space, but ok.
The property needs a bit of updating the bedrooms seem stuck in the 90's there was a very strong smell of chinese food on entering and after 4 days this was still there, probably an oversight but no toilet paper in one of the toilets, sweet papers under the bed, and dark hair in the bed ! We are fair.

Excellent place to stay in big groups very cozy and comfortable. Has everything in place like a true home
Weird smell in front - probably a dead rat/animal

The decoration and facilities are fantastic! Perfect for friends hanging out for fun!
There's a mouse found in the garden.

Great location. Cosy house with character.
2.5
The location was handy as only a few minutes’ stroll down the hill to the shops.
Enough bedrooms for two families to stay.
The bathroom facilities were cramped, particularly on the top floor. Shower and basins were tiny.
Toilet paper was the cheapest and lowest quality.
No salt in the salt shaker.
Not enough washing up liquid - we bought some and left it at the house for next guests to use.
There was no surface/kitchen cleaner for wiping down surfaces such as kitchen worktops and dining table, so facilities were not as hygienic as we would like - especially with four young children in the house.
The top garden was not particularly safe for young children, so a warning would be advisable, particularly to the right at the top of the steps as the drop down behind next door’s garage could have resulted in a nasty accident.

Perfect location and good space.
We had to buy our own toilet roll

The location and parking was great
there were no bathrooms on the ground floor and the coffee machine didn’t have the right coffee pods

Excellent property. Comfortable, spacious, great location. The owner was really helpful.
The only thing this property lacked was a frying pan. Everything else was ideal.

We love the place! Just a few minutes walk to town and very convenient. Everything was perfect

The cottage was beautiful, homely and equipped with everything you need

Lovely kitchen which was well equipped
Sofas in Lounge were saggy and uncomfortable.

Location was ideal which is why we chose this property. Short walk into centre of Bowness. Street was quiet enough and didn't appear to have too many other rented cottages/B&Bs on.
Kitchen was very small for house that slept 8 people, but ok if you plan to eat out majority of the time. Not much fridge space. Cleanliness was ok but did see dust/cobwebs in corners, under radiators, behind beds (generally expected).

Lovely property
We were encouraged to use the dish washer, but the machine needed salt and rinse aid, other wise there were no complains.
4.5
Easy arrival, close to Bowness centre and lakeshore, very warm welcoming house, great with two children under 4, good selection of toys and books to keep them entertained on a rainy day
Only grumble was the poor attitude to recycling. This seems to be partially down to the local authority but the property management could make more effort too.
4.8
We all loved the house .plenty of room and bedrooms all comfortable great kitchen and eating area and a washing machine and dryer was great.lounge area was good with plenty of books and dvds
It would have been better if a maybe a few coffee and tea bags and some condiments such as salt and pepper and also some little lots of soap for a shower .asking for the beds to be stripped wa a little strange to us never been asked that before when renting
