Great position in the town
Nice large bedroom but would have benefited from a fridge

Breakfast was very good, orange juice fresh, eggs runny mushrooms tasty... Staff was attentive. We checked in late and staff was happy to warm our meals in the kitchen for us. Thank you. Room was good, except for the smell, of sick... Which we used our perfume to overpower 😊. Staff recommended best beach for us to visit... Thank you. Though we were on the main road, we still had a good sleep, even with the music downstairs, which wasn't too disruptive.
We didn't realise that we had to access the hotel via the pub. Friendly customers pointed us in the right direction. Our room was a bit smelly and carpet needed hoovering. Shower was a mind field to operate but we soon got the hang of it after a while.

It was the cheapest on the day.
Knackered mattress. Dribble of a shower. Bathroom falling to pieces. Worst of all, the noise. Insane noise levels until 3am

Super friendly

Friendly

there was noise from the bar down stairs until 1am from people standing outside from locals that had been drinking in the bar all day

Bloody proper, you get what you are looking for.
Saturday Disco is great, if you want to mingle with the locals this is your place. Great kebab down the street, proper night snack. Breakfast at Phoenix is unrivaled.
Light in the loo was proper broken, faulty at best, but hey this helps with the challenge at hand.

Breakfast was ok
The hotel was cold. We had to ask them to turn the heating on which they did, but it went off again soon after. The room was very cold. Luke warm shower, no hot water!! Overall really disappointing and would not recommend.
3.3
Friendly staff, very helpful, great location, and very good food at very reasonable prices. Would recommend them anytime
The only downside was that the shower got boiling hot and would not turn down the heat of the water no matter how far down you turn the adjusting knob
3.3
Food was very good
Bed very comfortable
Shower was bit hit & miss difficult to control temperature very hot
Window didn't close properly a bit noisy but just used ear plugs

Location right in town centre on main street. Downside is that the town hall is directly opposite, and this rings an automated bell every hour day and night, plus chimes. I got used to it and by the third night managed to sleep without many breaks. Breakfast nicely cooked to order.
I noticed a stairlift for guests who might need assistance getting up and down the stairs.
Never managed to get the TV working. The first night the remote was not working, I got that swapped on the second day. The lights were showing on TV, Sky box and Sky remote, but no picture or sound. Router iffy and had to be switched off and on to get a signal; it was outside my room so I could do it and that worked on the second day.

The room was comfortable and clean with a good sized radiator that warmed it well. The staff were cordial and served a very good cooked breakfast. It was so nice we had the same thing thing both mornings.
No place is perfect, the only thing that was a tad bit off-putting was the conversations of people you could hear outside below the window. Something a bit of double glazing would solve.

The breakfast was good and staff friendly
When we arrived we were told that there was a party in the bar, that would go on till 3am! Apparently there was a message on the booking, however there was not. But still we were on the top floor so we though maybe it would be ok.
The music started at 11pm and was so loud, we could not sleep, it sounded like a rave and had loud thumping base. Added to this there were a lot of people talking loudly and partying outside the hotel, it was impossible to sleep until the party had finished at 3am.
We were staying in Chard because we were going to my daughter's wedding the next day near Honaton. But the fact that we hardly slept the night before meant that we were exhausted for the big day.
Being a party of three vegans, one of which was also gluten free. I rang up a few days before and asked if they could accommodate us at breakfast. The lady I spoke to said this would be fine and said she would pass this in the the kitchen. This was not done, however the staff did their best to accommodate us.

Breakfast was delicious. Honest, hard working staff. Bedroom was clean and functional. Staff were very nice.
The disco two nights running. We were informed of this and still had a good time. But I would lying if I said it wasn't noisy......it became white noise to me and I would stay there again.

Nothing to dislike

breakfast ok, comfortable bed, clean and tidy
I am only 5 ft 4 ins .the mirror in shared bathroom was meant for someone of 6 ft 6 ins, I could only see the very top of my bald head, rather drab decor.

Breakfast was excellent, was asked what we wanted and that is what we were served. Well cooked and very nice. Also hadn't realised at the time of booking that I hadn't stipulated that we wanted an ensuite. They were able to accommodate this request on arrival.
The building looked a little "tired" but considering the age of the property they keep it very clean.

Our food was excellent.
3.3
The staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of restaurants and takeaways close by to choose from. Onsite parking.
We stayed on the top floor which was served by a shared toilet and shower room for all the rooms. No soap to wash hands after using the toilet and water pressure was non existent and only a single grubby towel for everyone to dry there hands with.

Good value for money. Very good food . Staff all very friendly and accommodating. Ideal location as well in the town centre .
