Gand

Buona posizione per accedere al centro di Gand senza dover muoversi con l’auto, a 15 minuti a piedi c’è il capolinea del T2 che va direttamente in centro. Colazione super, camera confortevole e di grandi dimensioni.

Non c’è ascensore per trasportare i bagagli al piano superiore, ma il proprietario è stato così gentile da aiutarci con le nostre valigie.

Cosy countryside hotel for visitors of (not only) Ghent

The hotel has a nice, family-like, countryside feel. The location is great for an access by car (just a couple of hundreds of meters from a highway), the public transport to the center is not too far either (tram stop about 10 minutes of walk). A supermarket near was also a big plus. The inside of the hotel looks a little bit like a labyrinth first, but it turns out not to be a big problem. The room was OK, as was the bathroom. The breakfasts were really good, a great choice of chees, breads, hams etc. We enjoyed the light space for breakfasts, as well as the cosy bar for coffee or the seating outside (e.g. for a glass of wine or beer).

We found the pillows rather uncomfortable. Also, it took the water quite some time to turn warm (and then another time to turn cold again), perhaps due to the length of the building/pipings (?). In the very hot summer we would deffinitely use some air conditioning (at least for the future this seems to be a must). The rest was rather a bad luck: Rules for not leaving animals unattended need to be enforced more strictly (the poor dog kept barking in the room next to us for hours); after the fire alarm turning on due to some steam going out of the bathroom in a room on our floor, instructions (or at least signs) need to be added (it's common in other countries), I guess.

Great place, great service!

Very classy big old House remodeled to be in tip-top shape, very nice and spacious room wiith a BIG comfy bed, great breakfast included in price, easy to park at the property, AND VERY FRIENDLY AND NICE OWNERS.

It is not near the historical center, so you need a car or to use public transportation (there is a TRAM very near).

Superb hotel, high level of comfort, breakfast was so delicius. Location is very good, big advance is private parking if You arrive with car. We would stay longer if we could, but maybe next time if come again in Ghent.

Nice staff, good breakfast, clean room. It's a little bit far from the city center, if you are planing to use public transport be ready to walk 10–15 minutes to the nearest tram stop. There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel, but buses are rarely run.

the coffee facilities in the common area was not replenished. i would have expected fresh bottled water to be provided on a daily basis. also, a mirror in the room would have been nice.

Location was good as not too far from park and ride for Ghent or main routes so easy to find. Rooms were spacious beds comfortable and breakfast had a wide selection.

Great stay at Lepelbed

We had a great weekend stay at Hotel Lepelbed. If you are looking for a quiet place just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a great choice (private parking for free is a plus!) The city center is also easily reacheable by public transportation. Good breakfast and nice personnel. All in all, excellent place to stay for a city break.

A friendly, delightful place to stay as you pass through Gent.

A lovely family hotel with a relaxed atmosphere. It is easily accessible from the main highways. The common area decor is welcoming and relaxing. The breakfast is diverse without being wasteful. The accessible parking is a boon to travelers arriving by car.

During my stay a number cycling teams were staying (based on the decor the hotel has an historical association with cycling it seems) and were drying their gear in the hallways. While this is admirably accommodating for the guest cyclists, it was less so for other patrons. But this is the spirit of the place, and one can anticipate being accommodated in a similar way if the need arises. It is this spirit that sets it apart from the chain hotels where one is simply an entry in the booking system.

good stay but disappointing points from such a high standing place

We had a nice stay. Breakfast is very generous and staff is very helpful and kind. The room was clean but rather small, the hotel lobby is stylish, classy and cozy in the evening.

The room was very cold. We travelled with a baby and the ambient temperature was not comfortable. There are no heaters, the only way is to blow warm air from the AC above the bed. Also we requested a double bed and they gave us two single mattresses attached. For the price we paid these details count because they are misleading
