We had a wonderful vacation with our family! The house was perfect for everyone to be together! We had the pool heater go out once but I put in a call to management and left message and within an hr pool guy was there fixing it! Only problem I had was during the period from reservation to getting there. I believe they need to redo their website. Every time I tried to make a payment I had to call because site wouldn’t let me make it and felt like I was putting them out.

First, the property management company was good about addressing maintenance issues but other than that their follow-up and customer service has been lackluster to say the least. We have been working with them for several weeks on the issues described below and gotten nowhere. In the end they said they are standing behind the lease and that is it.
As for the house:
Positives: The location is great being right on the beach.
Negatives:
1 - We purchased the heated pool option. The pool heater failed every day. Depending on when it failed, the property management company would get someone out that day or the next day. $600 (with tax and insurance) for something that failed daily and required time to call in repairs for is not what I wanted my vacation to be.
2 - The hot tub is literally falling apart. Most of the jets do not work. In addition, we found a family of POSSUMS (8 total) living under it that needed to be removed
3 - Most of the screen doors either do not open/close or have large tears in them
4 - Several pieces of furniture have exposed ends of screws that pose a safety hazard
5 - Overall the cleanliness of the home, especially the kitchen left something to be desired
6 - The kitchen cookware is dated and should be replaced
7 - The heat/cool settings are locked out and cannot be changed
8 - The internet is extremely slow and laggy
9 - The decks are extremely worn. Wear shoes to avoid splinters

This house had everything needed for an extended family of 12. Plenty of space for everyone. While the pool looked like it could use a good scrubbing, it was great to have at the house, as was the hot tub and the pool table. A few minor issues and wear & tear can be expected at rental houses, and a few things that needed attention were handled by maintenance. House was very clean when we got there and the pictures are accurate. I was a little concerned after reading some of the more negative reviews, but overall the house met and exceeded our expectations. There is no “great room” but you can tell that from the pictures. And there was still plenty of space. I do wish the ocean view was better but I understand the need for the dunes. Our parents, who are in their late 70s, were able to walk the dune path to the beach with little trouble. The elevator came in handy for them as well as for groceries and packing/unpacking.

We travel often and almost always use VRBO unless staying at a hotel. I had high hopes for this home since were staying so long and due to the price point. So I will start with the pros: great location on the beach not being in the middle of all of the crowds. Located in a cul-de-sac so it was great for the kids and dog to play. Pool and hot tub were great having right there. Lots of fun at the pool table. All of the outdoor decks are great! Elevator was much needed and great to have. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and plates. Having two dishwashers was perfect!
Now the cons: Quite a few blinds were broken and in the shut position and could not be opened. Quite a few interior and exterior light bulbs were not working (the website says to stop by the office to get some, but honestly I don’t feel as that is my job to do). To have to rent linens in addition to the rental of the home is absolutely absurd, not to mention they are terrible. The pool heat went out with two days left - I texted and left a message and no one called me back, no one showed up to fix it and no one answered my request for a partial refund for the days it wasn’t working. The beds are very firm - all of them. There was ONE roll of toilet paper left in the house upon our arrival. The fireplace should be accessible for people staying there. Barely any of the pool deck rope lighting was working. Only one of the hot tub jets was working and it was pointing straight at peoples heads and couldn’t be turned off or pointed another direction.
Sidenote - the hike up the dune to the beach is a tough one and would be near impossible for anyone with a handicap to access. Plan on bringing plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags and dish detergent - we left our leftovers for the next guests so they wouldn’t be so inconvenienced. All in all the house could use a really good deep clean, updating and organizing - didn’t feel it was worth the money. It has a ton of potential.
Their “sister company” VayK Gear made errors in drilling off our rental items (two days late) and then argued about giving a partial refund for the delay, ended up giving a partial refund. We rented chairs, bikes and corn hole and all were nice.

The pictures online are a bit deceiving. This house is in some serious need of TLC. Upon first entry the house has a very strong odor of dog and must. We had to open all of the doors and windows to air it out. You can’t change the settings on the air conditioner and heat and by the end of the week the temps were in the 40s and for some reason the air was on and the house wouldn’t warm past 63. The pool area is also old and needs work. The pool needs resurfaced and the hot tub is very old and the jets weren’t working. The layout of the house is odd, the kitchen and living area were tight. We were also very disappointed with the lack of service provided by the agency that manages the property. There were no written instructions on how to work the TVs or trash days, no welcome basket w starter items and literally no communication whatsoever except to ask us when we were checking out. The only saving grace is that this house is right on the beach although the views were obstructed by dunes. You can really only see the water on the very top floor. We would not stay here again.

We decided to get away for Thanksgiving this year and couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, even more than we needed. Loved hearing the waves crash at night from the bedroom windows. The kitchen was well stocked and the table was very large! Perfect location to head over to Nags Head for some shopping or in the opposite direction to Avon for our grocery run! The smaller little grocery stores and Dollar General were perfect for in between or to grab little things. The beach access was right outside the door and the beach was very private this time of year. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and pool table! We truly enjoyed our visit and are looking forward to coming back!

Great location
Seconds from the beach. The house had lovely views from the top levels and nice hot tub and pool on the ground level. We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen and shared areas are a bit small compared to the number of people the house can accommodate but with a smaller group it was fine. Elevator is a great asset. Quiet cul-se-sac. Wish there had been a basketball hoop.

The location was great but the home needs some updates and a deep clean. I called in maint issues and no one ever came out to fix them. I will rethink this realty company before using them again.

12 of us rented this home August 2020. We got our key code about 5:30pm, so in advance of the 6pm check-in time. We had no power on the 2nd floor upon arrival and it was boiling hot on the 1st and 2nd floors. One of the smoke detectors was also beeping. We called the after-hours numbers, left a message and got a call back immediately. They helped us fix the problem quickly. The kitchen was well stocked although the coffee pot leaks slightly, but we made do. The air conditioner is set at 72 and you can't change it. The top 2 floors were cold, but the lower 2 floors were often very warm. It just couldn't keep up with the heat during the day. It got up to around 78 on those floors daily, but cooled down to 72 at night. The beds are hard as a rock and sheets are commercial type (very rough), but it wasn't that big of a problem. I should have brought my own sheets and maybe a mattress topper, that might have helped. I do wish they had curtains on the windows in the bedrooms as they get very bright very early and the blinds do nothing to keep the light out. The pool was awesome and we enjoyed it every day, although it really could do with a face-lift. My son loved the hot tub, even though it's rather old, and we think it has a leak as we had to add water everyday because the levels kept dropping and the hot tub cover is literally falling apart. But it works, which I guess is all that matters. The tiki hut was nice too and provided a couple stools in the shade. The kids enjoyed the pool table too. The walk to the beach was a bit of bear as the sandy path was beyond hot on your feet, even with flip flops on and it's a little steep to get over the dune so might be tough for older-adults or small children. Overall though, we had an awesome time. I would highly recommend this house and Sound or Surf Realty.

Great Multi-family Property
This house is great for a group. Bedrooms are good sized and most have private bathrooms and balconies. Downstairs area is a good spot for kids with its own fridge, a walk out to the pool area, pool table, bunk beds and twin bed bedrooms, and a single couch and TV for video gaming. Overall, the TV area is a little too small and the pool table is a bit tilted but our group of teens enjoyed it. There is also a really nice picnic area with two charcoal grills and tables right outside of the bottom floor right next to the driveway.
The upstairs had a great long table for serving meals to a crowd or playing group games but not a lot of comfy seating for watching TV or talking. However, we spent most of our indoor time hanging out at the long table. The kitchen was a little small for a house of this size and space was tight when we prepared meals together. We found it to be well stocked, though, with everything we needed except there were no pot holders or kitchen towels. The microwave needs to be replaced and the ice maker that comes with the fridge can’t keep up with a crowd. There’s a separate ice maker on bottom floor, though.
The hot tub was one of the reasons we picked the house and overall we were happy with it but it’s worn and you can no longer read the temperature on the control panel. The guys who cleaned it mid week didn’t thoroughly clean it or replace the lid before they left. They were in and out in a matter of minutes but we were grateful that they added more chlorine and checked chemical balance. We didn’t use the pool much since it was cold and it was an additional charge to heat it.
Check in process was fine with
the keyless entry but we didn’t get a code sent to us until sometime after 6 pm. Also, reaching the management office wasn’t easy by phone and I emailed them with some minor issues and didn’t get a response. (We assumed they were swamped with calls of people calling to rent homes.). Otherwise, I would have rated them higher.
The beach in front of the house was very nice and has a private feel to it. You can’t even see the house from the beach. (We recommend leaving some sort of marker next to the path.). Overall, our group really enjoyed this lovely house and it’s proximity to the beach.
