Great house!

The historic, yet renovated home has everything you need, and nothing you don’t want.
Fully stocked with silverware, etc. There were even a few k cups. The beds are comfortable and the whole house stayed cool for us at 74-77 degrees. We did not need to set it lower.
Quiet neighborhood. We hung out in the front yard a lot on the rockers just talking or reading.
The beach chairs provided were comfy too.
Having stayed at many different rental houses in the past decades, we highly recommend the Whalers Cottage!

Yet another fantastic week at The Whaler’s Cottage. Clean, plenty of room, wonderfully themed, big TV, walking distance to shops and restaurants and also the beach. Very comfortable beds. Owners were once again an absolute pleasure to communicate with. We’ll be booking our stay for next year soon.

We had a nice week. The home is in a good location; close to the beach; a park where we took our grandchildren; shopping and restaurants.

Everything about this trip was wonderful. My husband and I celebrated our 10yr wedding anniversary with our 4 adult kids, their significant others, and my 5yr old granddaughter. This cottage was the perfect size! We spent our days at the beach and our nights playing games or at the shops on Washington Street, all within walking distance.
We loved the decor!! All the vintage items, the collector tins, Pyrex and Fiesta dishes, Coca Cola...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
We will definitely be back.

This place has the potential to be great however there is so much clutter, memorabilia, etc. especially the laundry area, downstairs bath and kitchen which are all very tight spaces. These areas also needed a good cleaning!

Great spot for friends and family down for Memorial Day Weekend. Great house with plenty of room and very responsive host. Close to the Mall without having to be right in it. Best of both worlds!

The house is centrally located, and even bigger than it appears in photos.

This is the second year the family has spent our Christmas family fun weekend!! We love the house. It’s big enough for all of us and still small enough for us all to be comfortable and not get lost!! It’s at a great location. Close to beach and shopping. If we ever plan another family vacation to the beach this is the place we would stay!!

The owners have done a fabulous job in renovating this property, yet not losing the historic charm. Plenty of space, all updated baths, kitchen, modern appliances - anything you can think of was in this property. Location was fabulous for our annual Christmas stay and proximity to events, shopping and parade was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!

My family loves coming back every year. Clean, plenty of room, nicely decorated, quiet street, and great customer service by the owners Scott and Rhonda. We love using the complimentary bikes in the shed too.

A beautiful house with lovely common spaces for the family to cook, hang out and chill. Bedrooms are on the small side, which is to be expected from an older/Victorian house, but they were clean/comfortable. The house is filled with lots of charming and interesting old collectibles...Always something interesting to look at.
AC worked well for interior comfort. We enjoyed the small backyard and adirondack chairs in the front of the house.
The house location is excellent...Walking or biking distance to shops, restaurants, and the beach and on a quaint, quiet street 1 block from a park. The park was a perfect place for my teen son to play pick up basketball games with other kids in the area.
Scott and his partner were super communicative and responsive hosts and were a pleasure to interact with.

We had a wonderful visit in Cape May at The Whaler's Cottage. It's adorable with fun decorations in every corner. It was perfect for our family. The outside shower, kid's loft, and sun porch were highlights of the house!

What a wonderful experience! We visited Cape May to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday and stayed at the Whaler’s Cottage. It was the perfect place for a great vacation. There were 5 adults in our group, and three wonderful and active children, ages 9, 6, and 1. The Whaler’s Cottage was spotlessly clean, welcoming, and fully equipped. We cooked “in” two nights and had every utensil and plate we needed. The Cottage has been creatively redone to provide a much appreciated spaciousness. There is a sunporch on the street side of the house, with pocket doors leading to the main living area. The house has an open design with a large, comfortable eating area that fits everyone around the table. Outside is a small yard with a patio for additional sitting space. It was highly convenient to have two bathrooms downstairs (a half bath off the utility room and a full bath off the mater bedroom). Our grandchildren were thrilled with the bedrooms. The 6-year-old chose the bedroom with bunk beds, and spread her “lovies” in the extra beds. She, of course, slept in the upper bunk. The 9-year old was delighted to have his own space up the stairs to the third floor, where there are two twin beds, a table set up for checkers, and many games. They woke up early each morning and snuggled in the bed upstairs to watch TV. This allowed their parents to sleep a little later, which everyone enjoyed. My husband has a bad back and the mattress was very comfortable for him. The entire house is decorated with beach and Coca Cola themed accessories, with many vintage tins lining the shelf above the eating area. Of course, Cape May is a lovely place to visit, and the Whaler’s Cottage was the perfect spot to return to after a day of siight-seeiing and fun.

The place was very nice and had lots of room for 8 people. Kitchen had everything we needed. Could have used a small hand mixer but other then that everything needed was there. Lots of games for the kids to play as well. Close to shopping area!

I don’t know where to begin. Let me start off by saying staying in Cape May during the Christmas season feels like you are in a Hallmark movie. The only thing that was missing was snow! The cottage was amazing and accommodated 8 of us gals very comfortably. The décor throughout the cottage was that of a vintage theme adding lots of warmth, coziness and charm. The cottage was clean and provided all the necessary items to enjoy a fun-filled stress-free weekend. The furniture was comfortable including the bedding. The walk into town is only minutes away and the street is quiet and quaint. Check in was very easy and the owners were very kind honoring certain requests. I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed and a lot of memories will be made.

Fun, beautiful house in a great Cape May location. Was walking distance to a Octoberfest celebration. Worked out perfectly for our family and we had a blast.

My family and I had a wonderful time here. We looked the comfortable furniture with plenty of room to spread out and all hang out together. The unique decor was charming and the beautiful block was an ideal distance from all the best in Cape May.
The first morning we had an issue with the stove that could have really inconvenienced our trip. Rhonda was super responsive, immediately arranging for help and stove service, touching base with me the entire way. She was calm, friendly, and super accommodating. We were able to continue with our days plans with no problem thanks to her timely service.

Beautiful home in a great location. We have been visiting Cape May for about 30 years. This is one of the loveliest places we have stayed. It is close to everything in a quiet neighborhood. Can’t wait to book again.

Cozy and comfortable!
This is hands down the best rental we’ve ever had in Cape May. The cottage is well kept and lovely and full of unique decor and character. Kitchen was well stocked and lacking in nothing that I could tell. Very comfortable beds and nice modern bathrooms. Honestly, it felt like staying a beloved relatives home versus your typical “empty house feeling” rental property. We were a group of 8 including 2 kids and had plenty of space to spread out and relax. Location is also great - close to everything but tucked away on a quiet side street with very little passing traffic. Outdoor shower was helpful for washing off after beach days, and it was a nice touch to include bikes that we could use for the duration of our stay, as well as beach tags. Owner Scott was very pleasant and timely in his correspondence. 10/10 would definitely stay again.
