This three bedroom two bath 1200 square foot home is truly a Lake Safari cabin. The home has easy boat parking as the lot is relatively flat. Also, this home considers pets. From the driveway you walk up the steps to a large deck with a beautiful fire pit. You enter the home into the living room area with a TV with Satellite and stereo system that you can hook your IPod into as there are speakers on the outside deck. Off the living room is a dining area that has a door that open onto the side deck with the propane BBQ. The kitchen is off the dining area. The kitchen has a propane range, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The kitchen is equipped with dishware, glassware, utensil, and pots and pans for ten. On the other side of the dining room is a hallway that leads to the two guest bedrooms with queen beds and full bath. Further down the hall is the Master bedroom with its en suite bathroom. The home has air conditioning and heating for your comfort. Back by the kitchen is a doorway that leads down to where the washer and dryer are housed. Now the surprise! If you walk down the outside front deck to the side of the home, there is a door. Opening that door takes you to the Lake Safari game room that has two sets of bunk beds, seating area with TV, bar, Foosball and Pool Table. On the other end of the game room is a sliding glass door if you want to exit on the other side of the house. The game room has tile floors which keeps this room cool year round.

We enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would suggest is that the game room be updated with AC. Thankfully we didn't need to use the game room because not all that were suppose to stay showed up. There were a few things in kitchen that could have been updated i.e. coffee maker that takes coffee pods, can opener (both manual ones were broken), no trash bags supplied even though the manual said they would be under the sink. For our first time renting at the lake, it was overall a good experience.

Rented for a month while we commuted for work. Great family memories on the lake! Our 3 yr. old granddaughters loved the game room and s'mores on the fire pit. Very relaxing and loved all the wildlife! Would definitely book again.

Property and house were fine. Stayed in a more updated house last year but "Lake Safari" house served its purpose. No complaints.

Overall the location was nice. A couple small things came up and the property manager answered the phone every time. She was very friendly and took care of us the best she could. The neighborhood was extremely welcoming and made us feel right at home.

6 adults. 4 kids
kids ages 7, 12, 13, 16
loved oak shores. everyone is nice. very safe for kids. not walking distance to lake. if you have a large group bring paper plates and extra toilet paper. 90% of knives we found were junk (but that seems to be typical at rentals) so I always bring my own. we have Verizon cell coverage and we had absolutely no wifi or cell reception at the house. not a deal breaker because it kept kids off their technology. it did make it hard for my husband and I to get a hold of each other if one person was at the lake and one at the house. we loved the fire pit at night. kids enjoyed the downstairs pool table. no AC down there. so it was pretty warm for them a couple nights. washer/dryer was a benefit. grocery store is about 25 min away, so keep that in mind. we had a group of 10 and all seemed to fit fine. kids sat outside and ate dinner to give adults space on the table and quiet time. there is a nice bbq that we used. there were also tons of deer and turkeys. kids loved feeding them!

Perfect summer lake trip!
Amazing family friendly summer lake trip.
House was perfect - everyone had their own room. The downstairs room has two bunk beds as well as a pool table and fooseball table. We had all the kids down in that room which worked out perfect. Only downside of that room is no AC. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen is nice and big. All essential necessities were available, however, nothing fancy or good food storage available. Also - there wasn't a pantry for us to store food items so we just used the counter tops. Fridge also doesn't stay super cold.
Outside patio with the BBQ was a little small for our large group, but the combo of the outside patio and the kitchen table made it possible for everyone to have a seat for meals. Outside fire pit was perfect for that adult only end of the night wind down. All the neighbors are AMAZING! Super friendly and helpful. Lake is only a short drive down the street. Was able to hang out on the shore the first day and rented a pontoon boat the second day. Having the lake so close made it easy to drive down and load our belongings onto the boat. Would most definitely stay here again!

Good for chilling out with a family or 2
Quiet weekend in this house away from the hustle bustle. Community is very wonderful. The best part was the front patio but we could enjoy it for only one day. The fire pit and patio furniture is very nice and worked well for a group. The house and furnishings are ok but the downstairs bunk room beds were not good. My kids had to sleep in the sofa. Ofcourse the kids enjoyed the downstairs game thoroughly and popped in to the main house via the sliding door close to the dining hall which was fine. The property management company was very accommodating and easy to work with. The kitchen though disorganized, but had most stuff but some of the plates bowls had dried food stains. So we had to wash the dishes again and some by hand. The miniature golf was good but the horse riding etc were not close by and had to drive down south beyond Paso Robles.

Good but not great
We had a nice weekend at this home. The front patio is wonderful. The fire pit and patio furniture is very nice and worked well for a group. The house and furnishings are ok. The downstairs game room/bunk room has lots of fun activities. BUT, to access this part of the house you have to go outside, downstairs, and enter through an entirely different entrance. This worked fine for hanging out, but if you have young children and are thinking of having them sleep on the bunks, it's definitely not an option. Also, whoever does sleep down there has no access to a bathroom at night without walking outside and back into the main house. The property management company was very accommodating and easy to work with. The kitchen is dated and disorganized, but with enough searching it did have everything we needed even if it wasn't in the best shape.
