Ambience
Everything is bad
No staff to manage the property
Property is left with a teenager who does not have any knowledge on what facility is available
The owner was very rude over the phone when asked about the facilities and we paid Rs7800 for 2 Hrs stay in the property
We vacated the place and searched for another property since the hospitality was bad..
Not sure how this property has a good rating on booking.com

This place is lovely. Amazing view; clean rooms and bathrooms; relaxed atmosphere. It is family run place, and Joe, the patriarch, owner and host is always present; knows the area well as his family is from there; is knowledgeable and engaged culturally; and is otherwise a great conversation partner! I highly recommend eating as much fruit as possible while there - grown on the property and in a garden down the hill. I would absolutely stay again.

The attention from Joe and his sons was incredible. We had a great time thanks to our conversations with them. Also the option to ask for food that could be not hot/spicy was great. The views from the room were astonishing.

Beautiful views from everywhere, great hosting, very good home cooking.

Truly a small paradise owned by such an amazing family. We had a perfect stay thanks to the comfort of the rooms, the tasty homemade food as well as the quiet environment.

The owner's family welcomed us warmly, and their lifestyle is independent. The room and restaurant are clean and comfortable.

We had a wonderful couple of days spending time at Mistletoe very well looked after by Joe and his lovely family! So hospitable, helpful and kind. Great to chat to and definitely felt part of the family! Would recommend for all travellers from families to single travellers.
The food was excellent- home cooked and local specialities we’d never seen on any other menus. They helped arrange an excellent guide - Raja - who took us around stunning tea plantations. And sorted candles, balloon and wine for a birthday!
The place is incredibly peaceful, so great to wile away a few days away.

Lovely small family run homestay. The owner is very hands on and engaging. His young sons help out and are charming. Despite being a little way out of Munnar town, the location and its views and some simple local walks more than compensate (some would prefer the isolation)
Nothing!

Joe and Jeena and their boys made us feel very welcome and helped to answer our questions and organise activities.
The view from the room was outstanding and the food was excellent.
Visiting their kitchen garden was a lesson in tropical fruits, vegetables and spices.

we loved our stay- breakfast was delicious and had dinner 3x in the restaurant which was great. filtered drinking water free to take. beautiful and clean rooms, wonderful views!
location meant that we relied on hotel to book taxis which were expensive. hiking tour did not include transport so was another Rs1000. do not take massage at hotel - was very very bad.

This is a fantastic homestay. The views are amazing. The breakfast and evening meals are very good, and so is the service. We ate at the homestay every night. Joe is very friendly and helpful with organising activities in the area. Would recommend and thank you for your help Joe!

Home cooked food by Jeena was exceptional. Joe provided us with a room upgrade which made our stay more comfortable.
The bathroom needs maintenance.

Fantastic place with pleasant host, delicious food and a breathtaking view over the hills. The host was very accommodating and helped us select activities during our stay. The room was beautiful and decorated with nice art pieces. Food was very tasty and had high variety. The view from the balcony was just amazing and is one of the highlights of the stay.

I loved the view from the room on to the adjacent landscape, and Jo is a genial host, who gave a warm welcome and was on hand to offer advice on things to do in the area. Jo put me in touch with wonderful guide who led a small group on a trek in the the surrounding hills and tea plantations. This was the highlight of my stay in Munnar.
The only downside is that the front of the house is on a road, and at times it is a little loud as a result.

Joe is super helpful and a great cook. He organised the car for our pick up from Fort Kochi and the drivers we had (Ajesh for Munnar to Kochi pick up and Maxin for travel within Munnar) were superb. Maxin showed us around Munnar very patiently with a smile on his face. In fact he took to his home to show us how cardomom is manufactured. Joe’s suggestions made this trip amazing.
Special mention for how tastefully Joe has decorated the Homestay. Beautiful and simple pieces of art can be seen everywhere. It’s a family run business and they’re very alert and responsive to your needs. I’d book Mistletoe again.

It was very personal, and the best bit was the FOOD - curated by the host himself. Rooms were very comfy, and the sunrise from the balcony was breathtaking.
The stay is a little far from the city proper, around 20 km.

The cerenety, the hospitality, the location

it was a beautifully built property . the only issue being it is very close to the road . the owner runs the property . you get to see lot of pairings there . good interior .

Our stay was amazing but there are two things we’d like to call out: the owners/ family running the homestay and the food. The family is doing everything to make your stay as comfortable and unique as possible. The rooms are super clean, homely and have comfy beds. The family is super helpful, honest and kind. And the food is amazing, every dinner we were surprised by the variety of authentic flavors-finger licking good. It surely isn’t the cheapest homestay but one of the best we’ve stayed in.
The only thing worth mentioning is the unstable wifi connection. For us as travellers the internet is very important when planning the trip, so keep in mind that the internet is good at reception area but weaker in the rooms and dinner area. Not a dealbreaker for us but good to be aware of.

It's a beautiful property with some amazingly beautiful views from the room. The rooms are spacious and with all modern facilities...
And the hospitality of the place is so home-like, right from the food to the ambience of the place , will give you the feeling of being at home !!
There are plenty of books which you can enjoy while staying here...and not to mention the beautiful plantation in and around..it's just so refreshing!
I guess the only drawback would be the distance if you are not travelling by your own car...it's little far from the main Munnar city...

The vibe, the build, its quaint peaceful quality, its furnishings, the color, the sense of security, the restaurant, the rooms.
Joe will make sure your stay is a great one. From travel tips to car rentals, to getting lizards out of your room (in case they pop up during monsoon) he is the best. the food cooked by his wife will make you want to give up touring Munnar and stay at the property just so you can have all 3 meals there. the Moru curry and tamarind rice are out of this galaxy. From small coffee mugs to tissue holders to shower was containers to fruit platters, the effort put into the furniture, crockery and the vibe will make you fall in love with it. If the gods of fortune smile upon you, you will discover this place and stay here.
only a fool would not like something about this property

From start to finish our stay at mistletoe was perfect. We were made to feel comfortable and at home. The facilities were spotlessly clean and every small touch had been thought of by Joe and his family. We had many great chats with Joe and he was very helpful in organising a trek and an independent walk also. We ate every evening of our 3 night stay there and was constantly blown away by the tastiness of breakfast and dinners and the personalised touch of the family. This is a must stay!!!

Hospitality. Joe and his family were just the perfect host that one could think of.
The decor of the homestay needs a special mention with artwork created by local artisans. The views from the room were indeed welcoming to God's own country.
Special thanks to his son, Nirmal, smart and an intellectual kid who encouraged us to trek and took us to sunrise point which was spectacular. Best wishes to him.
Special mention for the homemade pizza, Avocado salad and Avocado juice.
Once, again thanks Joe to you and your team for making our stay a memorable one. We are taking back some great memories with us.
We look forward to visiting you again.
Regards,
Falguni

It's a beautiful house with spacious rooms! They all have a balcony with a great view! Everything is in really good condition and cared with love for the details! The food is super tasty, they grow a lot by themselves! Joe and his family/team are lovely and helpful people! We did really enjoy our stay!
4.5
The time we reached was as planned and were able to manage to cover all the places which were in the list. Joe helped us in identifying the best places based in the limited time we had. The balcony view is exceptional, you don't need anything, just sit enjoy the view and sip a cup of coffee.
Every thing was great. We have our own limitation and choices of food. But they were able to handle it quite good.
