=======
Our unit is on the third floor, has easy parking (close to the elevator)—and only 150 steps to the sugar white beach sand.
Ginger at the Dunes is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with an ocean view -- located on the 3rd floor of the C Building. It sleeps 8, with a king size bed in the master, 2 double beds in the guest room, and a queen size sleeper sofa. It’s a NON SMOKING unit, and comes with a washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen, towels, coffee makers (regular and Keurig), Bose Radio, and free wireless internet. Unit has beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, and sand toys for your use.
The Dunes of Panama has over 1500 feet of beachfront so you’ll have lots of room to spread out and enjoy the beach. Beach chair rentals, jet ski rentals, para-sailing, banana boat rides and beach volleyball are all available. The property has an exercise room, basketball goal, tennis courts, and a shuffleboard with equipment available for check-out at the office.
* The Dunes of Panama is a family-friendly gated community, with onsite security. The primary renter must be 25 years of age or older and must occupy the unit for the full stay.
Even though we use VRBO, we’ve contracted with the Dunes to handle check-in and check-out, maid service, and maintenance. The rental office is in the same building, so checking in and out is a breeze! And onsite maintenance is awesome. If you have a problem, they usually respond within minutes. Many units don’t have this arrangement, and check-in and check-out can be cumbersome. Make sure to ask about this before selecting a unit.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
>> Why choose Panama City Beach (PCB)? If you haven’t been to PCB in the last 5 years, you won’t believe how it’s changed. PCB is the new Destin and Orange Beach! New shops and restaurants have popped up everywhere. And finally a shopping development done the right way… Pier Park is one of the best shopping areas I’ve every seen. Sugar white beaches, family friendly atmosphere, local authentic seafood restaurants, all the chain restaurants you can imagine, parasailing, deep sea fishing, boat tours, miniature golf, jet ski rentals… and more. PCB has everything you need to relax and unwind.
>> Why choose the Dunes of Panama (Dunes)? The Dunes is located at 7205 Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach, Florida… several miles from the most congested part of PCB, called the “Strip.” The Dunes has been a gated complex (with on-site security) from day-one. We like it this way and think it keeps things quieter and safer. It also keeps people from driving in and using our desirable beachfront.
If you’re looking for 10 foot ceilings, Jacuzzi tubs and lazy rivers, the Dunes isn’t for you. If you want to be able to walk to Pier Park, the Dunes isn’t for you. If, however, you’re looking for a well-maintained facility (away from the bumper-to-bumper traffic), with awesome pools and grills for cooking-out by the pool, a crazy amount of beach front (loaded with acres of sand to build castles, throw frisbee or play volleyball on), then the Dunes is where you want to be.
The A, B and C buildings at the Dunes are only about 6 stories high. This means lots of beach front area. Even during the busiest times of the year, you’ll have plenty of beach to claim as your own. Some condos on the Strip have tents and chairs stacked three rows deep on the beach. You won’t see that at the Dunes in the A, B, and C areas. The D building at the Dunes is 12 stories high and the E building is about 20 stories. They share a pool located between them. If you want to grab a drink or burger/sandwich, “Suds” sandwich shop is located in the ground floor of the E building.
>> Why choose Ginger at the Dunes? We can’t tell you that Ginger at the Dunes is the best unit at the Dunes, because no owner can make that claim. We CAN tell you, however, that we’ve tried our best to decorate and equip the unit with our guests in mind. We’ve stocked the kitchen with professional cookware and utensils, and added trim to give it a cottage feel… along with new tile, new carpet and new paint. But we didn’t stop there. We’ve done our best to make the unit usable for our guests. We mounted the flat screen TV in the guest bedroom on the wall in the corner (see photo), so we could hang a mirror over the dresser where most owners put the TV. This gives guests another place to dry hair or put on makeup. We added a custom-made desk (that also functions as a night stand) in the master bedroom so you have space for a laptop or work area.
The unit has 3 flat panel TVs, a 42” in the living area, and a 32” in both bedrooms. The TV in the guest bedroom has HDMI ports so kids can hook up their video game consoles. We also had a kitchen table custom-made from reclaimed barn wood from Tennessee. Some of our best family memories have been around the dining table playing games and laughing.
>> What’s nearby? Pier Park (shopping and restaurants) is an easy 15 minute drive from the Dunes. Walmart is 7 minutes. Publix (our favorite) and Winn Dixie are 5 minutes away and simple to get to in virtually no traffic. Capt. Anderson’s Marina (deep sea fishing, boat trip to Shell Island and more) is 4 minutes away. I admit we’re biased, but the Dunes is in a great location, away from the notorious PCB traffic. Several convenient stores are within a mile, and a large souvenir shop is across from the Dunes entrance.
Our daughter put together a Guest Guide Book (in the unit) that describes our favorite restaurants, lists menus, and gives directions to attractions in PCB… from popular chains like Chili’s, Carrabba’s, Olive Garden, Mellow Mushroom, and more, to local seafood restaurants where the locals eat.
>> How’s the view? Every unit at the Dunes has a unique perspective and looks out onto the ocean. It’s impossible to say that one unit has a better view than another. However, if watching a sunset from the unit is important, Ginger at the Dunes is one of your best options. You can see the sunset from inside the unit during all four seasons. On a couple of the longest days of the year (in late summer) the sun sets under the A building. But the gorgeous oranges in the sky are still visible. You can see the sun dropping below the horizon during all of winter, spring, fall and all but a few days in summer. Okay, now you know I’m an engineer, because I’ve actually studied this.
Ginger at the Dunes also overlooks the largest pool at the Dunes. And the only heated pool and clubhouse onsite are down below… especially convenient during the winter months. Several guests have commented that it’s possible to enjoy the beach from inside the unit, without actually stepping foot onto the sand. Please read what our guests have said about the view on VRBO. It offers a balanced view of the pool area (and of the ocean ) with a near-perfect view of sunset.
>> How far is parking? Parking is easy at the C building, even during peak season. I can’t say for sure how crowded parking is around the taller buildings, because I’ve never parked there. I do know the E building has a parking deck.
Several guests have asked how many steps it is to the elevator. I can usually park about 20 to 35 steps away from the door going into the lobby of the C building. The elevator is two steps from this door. Also, we have several handicap parking slots close by. If you prefer, it’s easy to drop-off someone right by the lobby door… about 10 steps to the elevator.
>> Weekly rentals? During the busiest times of the year we prefer weekly rentals, from Saturday to Saturday, because it’s easier to manage and most of the wear and tear on the unit comes during the moving in and out phases. We occasionally rent for less than a week (especially if it’s a week or so out and not rented)… just ask!
>> Our family story… My parents loved spending time at Ginger at the Dunes. I don’t recall seeing them ever step-foot on the sand or stick their feet in the ocean. They weren’t beach kind of people. Instead, they enjoyed sitting in the unit and watching the ocean waves break white, and the palm trees blow in the wind. But more than anything, they loved watching their grandchildren play in the pool down below. We almost sold this place when my father passed away in 2014. But Sue and I thought about it, and prayed about. When I told my brother and sister that Sue and I wanted to buy it, they were thrilled. Our parents would have wanted it this way.
Ginger at the Dunes has been (and continues to be) a special place for my family.
We want this to be a special place for you and your family.
Rest, relax, rejuvenate… that’s what we do when we’re here. We hope you’ll do the same.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Great location, cute condo. Enjoyed the view from the balcony, especially the sunset. We would definitely stay there again.

We have stayed at Dunes for 7 years. Stayed in many different condos but have never stayed in building C. It was amazing! Condo was clean and perfect. Soooooo much kitchen stuff!! Anything we needed was there to use. Tons of beach and pool stuff in the box on balcony. It was definitely one of our favorite condos! Thanks so much for having us!!

Loved staying here with my family, convenient to pool and beach. Will be staying here again for sure. Also, this part of PCB is the best for traffic. The western end has grown up too much and too crowded.

The condo was great. Very well equipped! The furniture was comfortable. The owners were very responsive. Could not have asked for a better trip!! Will probably use them again.

We had the most amazing stay at the Ginger! The condo is clean, cute, and exactly as described. The Dunes of Panama is a really nice resort and we enjoyed everything it offers. The sringray had a good mix of local music, dinner and drinks for nights we didnt want to venture out. The host are easy to work with, kind and have an amazing place to share. Would love to stay again!

We really enjoyed this vacation rental. It is spacious and nicely decorated. The living room had plenty of seating that was very comfortable. Loved the king mattress in the Master bedroom. We were able to see a few beautiful sunsets from the balcony before the late afternoon/early evening fog rolled in. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the rocker recliners. The only suggestion that both my husband and I have is to consider covering the dining table with a glass cover or replace it with a smooth surface top since the rough sawn wood was difficult to wipe anything off. Plus we weren’t able to host any games, dominoes, or card playing with our friends from a different building due to it extreme rough finish.

Very nice condo. Equipped with everything you need. Even had a new washer. Owner was great to work with. Will definitely stay again.

The condo itself was very homey and incredibly clean! Felt like I was at my home away from home. The beach here is not busy at all, but still just a short drive to everywhere we wanted to go. Sue was very quick to message me with any questions I had. I will ABSOLUTELY be returning here next year! The internet is also fantastic here and I was able to work easily during the day while my children were on their devices.

Love this condo
We stayed at the Dunes for 18 years. This is our second time renting this condo and we love this condo. Although the prices did go up. The washer this time made a loud noise but other than that was great. Now as far as the grounds we noticed this year that the pool area are not as picked up as usual and pool by e building was a little rowdy. The store has new owners which I think will be a great change. But Dunes of Panama always been out favorite.

Perfect Beach Getaway
Booking the property was easy and the property manager was very prompt and helpful. The check in/out process was easy. The condo was about 40 minutes from the PCB airport. The condo itself was very cute, clean, and the kitchen was well stocked. We used the washer/dryer daily. This time of year was perfect, it was not busy at all- no problem getting a table/chairs by the pool. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all-very easy access from condo. The condo even had some beach chairs, toys. Etc. Which was nice. They have a little tiki bar by the pool as well. We just went to relax and have fun with the kiddo for a week, and this place was perfect! Lots of good restaurants, mini golf, and boat excursions in the immediate area, bur not much else in terms of things to do besides beach and pool. Would definitely recommend if you want something less crowded and a little off the beaten path. 😊

Great Place and Location
Three generations came down for a spring break trip. Had a great time. The unit is close to the beach and pool. It overlooks the beach and one of the two pools. The kitchen was well equipped, and the beds were very comfortable. Definitely would consider staying there again. The book was so helpful, since I've not been to Panama in years, when my daughter was a senior [now a mother of teenagers].

Nice condo, loved the heated pool especially since the beach was double red flagged for most of our stay. Loved all the cookware! Also the beach gear on the deck was well used by my kids! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Perfect stay for our family of 6!

Annual Beach Trip
This was the third year in a row that we rented this property from the Mixon’s; and it will not be our last! We enjoy staying in this community and unit each summer. It’s always clean, homey, and convenient to everything we want to do. Being that it’s not a high rise, the beach is not every super crowded, even on the busiest days. We look forward to spending a week hear each summer, and always leave talking about coming back the following year.

Best vacation ever
We stay at the dunes twice a year. This first time at this condo. This condo hands down was the best. Already reserved it for next year. Owners of this condo was so nice and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Can do has ever disk and pan you would need. I’m staying in this condo from now on if possible.

Family Beach Trip
This condo was perfect for our family. It had so many extras in it that made it feel like home. I can't think of a single negative thing about this condo. It was clean, very comfortable furniture, cute decor, great location, lots of things were already there that we didnt have to bring from home or buy and the owner was super helpful and responsive. I will definitely stay in this condo again. It was perfect!!!
**side note: The only downside was the elevator did not work right majority of the week. Since we were on the 3rd floor, taking the stairs was not bad at all though.

Another Awesome Week
We truly enjoyed our stay in the “Ginger At the Dunes” unit!! We’ve rented several different units at Dunes of Panama over the years, but this condo was by far the nicest one. We enjoyed the clean, updated decor, and large open kitchen. Our group (of 3 families) gathered at our condo every night, because it was the most openly spacious.

What a great way to enjoy the gulf!!
Our stay was over the top wonderful!! Every amenity you need was there waiting for us!! Swimming pools were awesome walking on the beach every day was an experience all it’s own!! We will be back and am glad to share the joy of our experience!! The area has so much for all ages to do and many fun restaurants and small shops all close to our condo rental. The sunshine just added to the beauty!!

New Years @ Ginger at the Dunes
Wonderful place! Clean and had everything we needed. Comfy beds and good closet sizes. Laundry at the unit was very convenient. My husband and I enjoyed the views from the large balcony and my son loved the Christmas tree in the lobby, plus the toys in the "beach-stuff" storage box. We will love to come back. Helpful labeling around the house and the Mixson's left a binder with helpful info about good local places. 5/5*.

Awesome vacation
We LOVE Dunes of Panama and have stayed there several times, usually in building C. We like that it isn't a high rise, so wait times for the elevator are never an issue, although this unit is on the 3rd floor and we took the stairs most of the time. It is soooo close to the sand! The kitchen is fully stocked (the only thing we needed and didn't have was a pie pan, but we made do). My sister fell in love with the gorgeous blue dinnerware. Our beds were comfortable and we had plenty of seating for our group. We were able to rent a rollaway bed for the youngest person in our crowd and she said she loved it. The power strips are an added plus so we could keep our electronics charged up and ready to go. We loved the decor and the beautiful dining table. Check in was simple and the keypad kept us from worrying about keys. The resort is always kept up so nicely, we feel very safe there with the security personnel, and the pools are wonderful and not crowded during our stay. I would gladly give my recommendation to anyone considering the Mixson's beautiful condo.

This was the perfect home away from home stay. The property was clean and welcoming. There were games to play and toys to use on the beach or in the pool.

Amazing!
Everything about our stay was amazing! The owner was so easy to work with and was there every step that we needed her! The condo was clean and the best stocked condo we’ve ever stayed at! Dunes is on the quiet end of town which is ideal for families! We plan to book this rental again soon! Thanks for having us!

Roomy and Cozy hidden gem on the beach
Nice and clean, roomy 2 bed/2 bath. The location was perfect close to great restaurants and attractions. The condo has a large balcony overlooking two of the property pools and just steps away from the beach. There is a tiki bar at the pool for drinks and a grill at pool below too. Large kitchen with full size frig and keurig for your morning cup of coffee. Great fit for a family of 4 or 5. Would definitely stay again!!!

Lovely place
The condo was lovely. Had a well equipped kitchen. Lovely decor. Owner was very helpful. She reached out a few days before our arrival to let me know some things about the property and see if I had any questions.
Note: There is not a tub in either bathroom. I was not aware of that and bathing a 1 year old without a tub posed some challenges.
I definitely recommend this place.

Great condo and GREAT view!
We had a wonderfully pleasant time staying at this condo. Everything was clean, and just as expected. We liked the layout of the unit, and the fact that there were two beds in the second room. The view was spectacular. A fantastic view of both the pool and the ocean! We loved that the complex is small, which meant no crowded beach! We will definitely be back!
