I really enjoyed the quiet and laid back atmosphere of the guesthouse in December. Had the whole place to myself basically since it was a low season for tourism. All basic amenities were provided and everything was very clean.
While the location is beautiful and quiet, it's also a little further away from all the main things to do in Ishinomaki. Unless you're around in spring and summer for the outdoor activities provided by Yado, you'll need to make your way back to Ishinomaki central area for things to do.

We loved how the owner creates community and all the work he does with cleaning the ocean and bring people into the outdoors!
Nothing!

Very helpful owner. Nice clean place. Comfortable big bed.
Additional fees if you arrive later, which wasn't written on the facility policy 1000yen for each hour delay. Bathroom is outside the room and only accessible if you go outside the building then inside so if you are warm under covers and need to use the bathroom, you need to go outside the building in the dark and cold to go to the bathroom at night although it is next door but was very inconvenient. You need to take a taxi to the station or the port, not a walking distance

This was an exceptional experience, and I will definitely be back at some point with more friends... maybe to learn to surf! The staff was friendly and super helpful, and love to see his passion for being there.
Nothing... it was perfect!

The place was modern, comfy and clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I'd love to go back and try some of the outdoor adventures like SUP!
The dorm rooms are a little cramped, but it was fine for a couple of nights. The location is a little out of the way, but you can access it by bus or train.

Staff Ryodai-san was very helpful and friendly. We had a great time, he also brought us around the area to show us the amazing projects they did themselves to revitalise the area.
A little hard to access but taxis are usually available.

The owners are clearly committed to sustainable living and care about the area, organizing beach clean-ups and other events, and reminding guests of the impact of their decisions on the environment. The rooms are simple and basic, but everything is of good quality and comfortable: furniture, lighting, bedding, etc. The common room and the kitchen are very cozy, practical and well-stocked. Great place to learn about other community initiatives in the area.
Nothing.

I booked the hostel because of the good pricing. I was surprised by the nice common room and well equipped kitchen. The common room invited to chat with others and the owner Ryodai was very accommodating.
In the hostel a lot of activities are offered so I would recommend to check them out.
By train it takes a bit of walking to reach the hostel.

Very stylish and cozy guesthouse that feels like home

Great place! It was nice to have the communal room where we could eat combini food (the convenience store is right next door) and play games (they have some games you can play). The beds were very comfortable and I had the best sleep since we started our road trip.
There is only one shower and toilet outside so you have to wait your turn - not too bad but difficult if it gets busy.

The interior decor of the common space is very pleasant. Liked very much the stove. The kitchen is great: fully equipped and with also seasoning available. A great place for cooking. At walking distance there is a big supermarket. Strong WIFI. In addition to marine sports, the hills of Ojitaka Peninsula, near to the guesthouse, offer a lot for good cycling, and walking.
The toilet and shower accessible only from outside are a bit inconvenient on cold nights, but, on the bright side, help to keep clean the interior space.

The common room is super nice and the fact that the facility itself is part of the efforts of reconstruction after the 2011 Tsunami adds a lot of meaning to the stay. There is a convenience store right next to the place.
Rooms may be a bit small for some tastes, but in general this shouldn’t be a problem at all.

It was clean and tidy and the owner was very pleasant .
The room was also clean and comfortable
They charged for using the washing machine and there was no breakfast .maybe it was because it was out of season.
