About this house rental
Baraka House and infinity pool are on Watamu's prime beachfront. Set high on a ridge in coastal forest, opposite the famous Watamu National Marine Park, where there is the finest snorkelling and Kite-surfing in Kenya. All bedrooms have ocean views - five upstairs bedrooms with balconies, and one ground floor room. The roof terrace provides unsurpassed views of the Indian Ocean. Included are room stewards, security and a chef with fabulous menus. We are best for quiet or family groups as we are in a residential area.
Full of character, made from coral block, Baraka House is beautifully designed to catch breeze in the hot months and is protected in the windy months.
There are plenty of open spaces throughout the house for one to relax, not to mention the roof top terrace for early morning yoga, evening sun down downers and monthly moon-rises. Enjoy a beach BBQ one of your nights.
Guests have access to every part of their wing of the house and spill straight out onto the beach below. There is a dining room and veranda on the ground floor while the roof, with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean, has a covered daytime lounge plus an open area to sunbath and star gaze. You can dine in a different romantic location every night!
This is a self catering house which is staffed and serviced and fitted with security buttons and a night guard. House staff will be on hand during your stay to ensure you have an enjoyable and stress free break.
There is fabulous 24 hour, sandy-bottomed, turquoise swimming in all tides right in front of the house. This also makes Baraka the best spot on the beach for kite-surfing!
The exact description of the rooms (which don't fit exactly into categories is: 5 upstairs, ocean-view, balconies, double bedrooms, 3 with en suite bathrooms, 2 with their own basins and changing rooms but sharing a shower and toilet. Plus one downstairs double room with en suite bathroom/toilet.
Baraka House is beach front tucked into a coastal forest with indigenous flora and fauna. Sikes monkeys, sunis (tiny buck) and various species of birds are sighted from time to time as well as whales and dolphins on the horizon.
It is quite easy to get around using either tuk tuks (motorised rickshaw) or motor cycles or taxis. Nothing in Watamu is more than 10 minutes away. There are plenty of places to visit including eateries and details will be in your guest information.

Lovely stay on quiet beach
Loved our stay at Baraka, amazing part of the beach, nice and quiet yet only a 10 min tuk tuk to town. The staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating, facilitating everything from lovely food every day to getting a tailor in to make us kikoy trousers and robes. Overall, amazing stay

Paradise at the beach
We have stayed at Baraka house with our family of 9 adults. It was amazing! The house has beautiful places all around. But the staff was the icing on the cake! Emanuel, Dixon and Mozes have spoiled us to the bit. Thanks again for a wonderful time!

Splendid vila, but....
It was our second time in Watamu and 1st time in Baraka house. Its absolutely stunning property in ocean front location, 3 min walk to the beach. Chef cooks delicious meals to you order, i m already missing his breakfast pancakes with fresh mangoes ,rooms are very well cleaned every day, security guard at night, cant really fault anything. I believe there are 2 ladys Tara and Chekie ( sorry if spelled wrong) that managing property.Tara is spot on, very quick to answer any questions or sorting any issues, sadly cant say same about other lady that actually lives in the property although it listed as you will have villa for yourself completely. We had issues with Chekie from the 1st day, as she asked us to put music down and it was only small portable speaker playing and it was 11am. But the best bit came on the last day. Check out should be at 10:00 am, but we agreed with Tara to check out at 23:00 and paid 75% of full day price . Our chef ordered fresh fish and preparing for our dinner when Chekie came in and ordered as to leave villa latest by 4pm. We showed her all details that was agreed with Tara but she didnt want to know, she gave us back all the money for extra time we paid , she called us all kind of words and said that she hopes that will never ever see us again. It was really big shock for us, we started packing quickly, 1 of us went to nearby properties to look where can we stay for the day, and we had small child in our group that made things worst, luckily we got hold of Tara and she quickly sorted all this mess out and we stayed in house until 23:00 as planned, and Chekie never came out to even say sorry or apologize to us.If you decide to come and stay at Baraka House i m sure you will have wonderful time but please make sure you communicate with Tara to avoid any issues like we had. Apart of that we would rate Baraka house very highly, its probably the best villa we ever stayed in, if i could i would give 10 stars for our time at the house, specially for all the house staff, they would do anything to make your stay hassle free. Swimming pool was cleaned every morning, rooms done every day if you wish. If i ever decide to come back to watamu once more i would definitely tray to stay in Baraka house but would communicate with Tara only. Make sure you ask Stevens to have BBq on the beach and you will have experience of your life. Big Big thanks to all villa stuff and Tara .
