Overall great stay.

Great welcome. Location to beach.

Too many children in pool. People doing yoga outside room. Lack of bars and restaurants

Disappointing

Booking informed us that the check in time was 15:00 and check out 11:00. five minutes after making the reservation - non refundable - the hotel send us the message stating the check in time to be 17:00 and the check out to be 10:00. These are borderline check in and out times, but whatever. When we arrived at the hotel at check in we were told that we will not have beach access the day of check out. Considering that we booked only one night this effectively meant that we did not have a single day of beach access at all. We came to spend a day at the beach and paid for 3 rooms only to be told that we do not have even have a full day to spend at the beach!!!

Disappointed by service

Beach was fantastic Supermarket on-site very good idea Everything was clean and modern

We had a very bad experience with our aircon which didnt work for 2 nights out of 3...it was 38 degrees and we couldn't sleep. After complaining several times we were offered a 50$ refund which was less than 10% of the two nights. Overall poor value for money for our room. Pool was murky and unable to cope with the heat and number of people. Food was mixed (breakfast ok, Duna restaurant very good) Overall attitude of people towards our problem made it an uncomfortable stay for us

Loved the beach such a stunning location but the beach beds were numbered all over the place. As a family of 7 we were

loved the proximity to the beach and good standard of rooms. Receptionists were very helpful and friendly as were house keeping staff.Great to have allocated beach beds parasol and chair.

Needs better links to the centre of town and needs more restaurants on site. Standard of in house restaurant in Trattoria was below par and the beach restaurant was over priced. Needs another pool

Comfort is best - watch out for some changes

Clean well equipped room. Well organised with good restaurant. Great beach. Comfort and variety of activities for children always the best. GDS is still our choice although read below for some unexpected changes!

Significant changes at GDS this year! The surfing and windsurfing facilities that we used for the over 10 years are no longer available. This is a huge disappointment, as this is one of the main reasons we stay at GDS. Newer staff members at desk not very welcoming, new restaurant waiting staff not very professional and sarcastic with my family who didn't speak Italian! Pity that many of the senior staff have not been maintained.

It's very very family friendly hotel - absolutely perfect for staying with children. Super clean, even the children's playground was cleaned in the early morning. In this hotel you basically have everything and you do not have to leave the hotel area, pool, beach, restaurants, etc. We stayed in the main house and rooms were worth their stars.

They weren't able to make me an invoice at the checkout which today is really strange and the reason was that I didn't mentioned it when I made the booking.. later at the checkout the "system" doesn't allow to change the booking anymore 🤔

Great place for vacation.

Great location, with a very nice beach just few steps away. The staff is really kind, professional and always ready to help. Great breakfast. the rooms in the hotel are quiet and the rooms on the hill are fabolous.

Better suited for a young family but nice to relax at the beach

Location is very nice, close to the sea and surrounded by a pine forest. About 3Km from Follonica centre. There is a pool, secure parking and private beach access. Sea water warm and sufficiently clean.

Breakfast could be a bit more various, with more fresh fruit and better selection of baked goods, particularly bread wasn't great (being in Italy). Staff in general is courteous but cold, some of them seemed annoyed to being work there, felt a sense of forced smiling and lack of enthusiasm. The room was ok but some small changes would make it better, for example hanging the tv on the wall to save room on the desk, fixing the antenna signal, making the shower cabin bigger (I'm not massive but still had difficulties washing myself without bumping), having some bedside lights instead of a single big one on the ceil.
