About this apartment rental

This apartment offers everything you require for a delightful holiday experience, whether it be a short stay for a weekend of high quality golf/wine tasting/bush walking, or an extended beach and active holiday destination for the whole family. Its location - midway between bustling Rosebud and the charming village of Flinders - makes is ideally suited for one or two couples wishing to enjoy the many attractions of the Mornington Peninsula such as bathing at the Peninsula Hot Springs, shopping in Sorrento and winery visits in Red Hill.
The unit is located right on the RACV Cape Schanck Resort golf course, backing on to the 18th fairway. (Go to "satellite" view and zoom in to see its exact position.)

As this is an RACV resort, very attractive green fee discounts are available for RACV members, so be sure to bring your membership card with you. The RACV Clubhouse is a leisurely 5 minute stroll away if you feel like a coffee and cake and/or a restaurant meal.

Just 3km away, and adjoining the RACV Resort is the National Golf Club, a complex which comprises three world class championship 18 hole courses. Within easy driving distance of your holiday location are the following golf courses: Moonah Links, Rosebud Country Club, Flinders Golf Club, Eagle Ridge, The Dunes and St. Andrews, Gunnamatta. If you tire of these courses, you can travel a little further (15 – 20 minutes) to Sorrento or Portsea.

Features of the Banksia apartment

This is a luxury, split level apartment designed by the renowned architect Daryl Jackson in the early 90’s.

The upper level features a fully appointed kitchen, lounge, separate dining room and balcony, all with bush and ocean views. The lower level has a Queen sized bedroom with ensuite, a second bedroom with two single beds (can be made up as a king sized bed) and a laundry/toilet/bathroom. The apartment sleeps four and suits particularly well a family with two children or two couples.

Each area of the apartment has independent electric heating and ceiling fans while the living areas on the upper level are serviced by a cosy wood heater, ceiling fan and a split system heater/air-conditioner. The kitchen is fully appointed with electric oven, microwave and hotplates and a full range of saucepans, serving platters and other sundry cooking utensils. A Webber barbecue is available for use on the upper deck.
The tariff includes towels and bed linen. Onsite parking for two cars is available.

Attractions of the local area

Although golf is the first thing that comes to mind at Cape Schanck, the Mornington Peninsula offers a wide range of tourist and recreational activities.

The charming township of Flinders, 10 minutes away, boasts restaurants, coffee shops, a hotel, bakery plus antique stores and galleries, Red Hill is a picturesque 15 minute drive away and Rosebud less than 10 minute distance away.

In the surrounding area are several acclaimed wineries, many with fine dining and bistro facilities, along with tasting and cellar door sales. For the more energetic, there is access to horse riding facilities, bay beaches, surfing and an extensive variety of bushwalking tracks. In addition, the towns of Balnarring and Red Hill run country markets on a monthly basis as well as the excellent local Boneo market (5 minutes away). Another popular attraction is the Peninsula Hot Springs located conveniently in Rye but booking in advance is highly recommended.

And for something quite different for the younger family members, Dromana has a "Trebble Screen" Drive-in and a visit could be made to the Ashcombe or Enchanted Mazes.

So remember, Cape Schanck is NOT just about the golf, it offers something for everyone in the family, and Banksia is the perfect base for your Mornington Peninsula holiday. A folder of attractions, restaurants, maps and directions is provided in the apartment.

Please be advised this apartment is not suitable for pets.

We enjoyed a wonderfully restful three-day break in this cosy home with stunning views. Very quite location; we awoke each morning to birdsong. Fantastic decor and very well equipped kitchen. 20 mins drive to nearby Flinders, with cute bakery, great general store and cafe with great coffee and cakes!

The location at Cape Schack allows you to explore the back beaches and ocean walks, play golf or indulge at wineries and destination dining. This sparkling home has been thoughtfully curated for blissful breaks. The decor is contemporary, inviting and practical. The kitchen is impressively equipped if you are self catering. It’sbeautiful base to explore MP away from the crowds.

One week stay at Banksia
One week stay at Banksia
I can highly recommend a stay at this property. I have stayed in many accommodations world over and this was by far, one of the best. Location- located on the RACV golf course property, in a quiet and treed region with stunning views over tree tops to the ocean. Comfort- exceptionally well equipped kitchen with a pantry stocked with far more then one expects from a holiday pantry- spices, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, rice, cous cous, tin foil, cling wrap, foil disposable trays and more. Beautiful Webber barbecue outside. Working fireplace inside. Great sunset views. Excellent, quality appliances, linen, crockery and cutlery throughout. Comfortable beds, blockout curtains in the bed rooms and quiet surrounds makes for great holiday sleep ins. Extra blankets for the cold, air con for the heat. Ambience- tastefully and functionally decorated. Only one small and easily fixed con- the stove top is a convection stove- we found it finicky and quite tricky to figure out how to use. There are excellent and simple to follow instructions to use the microwave, the oven and the grill. Instructions on how to use the convection stove top would be very handy. Lovely stay in a beautiful accommodation and area, will gladly return for our next holiday in the Peninsula.

Peaceful getaway
The house is very cosy with a well appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds and a stylish but "at home" feel. It is in a great location, close to wineries and coastal walks, peaceful and the deck has fabulous sea views.

Better views than the RACV, beautifully appointed with all the amenities you could need, including a stock pantry, two separate outdoor areas and proxility to the back beaches and hiking, while not far from the bay. We loved the Marimekko cups. Great relaxing stay.
