About this house rental
** Minimum 3-day stay required **
A beautifully restored farmhouse, Eboleth House is the perfect retreat to enjoy both the oceanfront and a quiet, wooded setting.
Relax on the large wrap-around porch surrounded by a sprawling meadow that was once an apple orchard. Or take a short walk through the field that leads you to the private beach overlooking the Deer Isle bridge and the breathtaking views of Eggemoggin Reach.
Situated in Sargentville, Eboleth House is an ideal central location for visiting the nearby charming towns of Blue Hill, Brooklin, Deer Isle and Stonington. Take a day trip to the busy tourist areas of Bar Harbor and Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National park and then return to the peace and quiet for a relaxing and carefree evening.

- The spacious kitchen has convenient seating and all the amenities for cooking family meals.
- Next to the kitchen is a half bath with a new stackable washer/dryer.

We spend 4 days here and had a great time! We have a sheepdog that likes to run so it was great that it was secluded and he could run off leash. We loved the screen porch—big bonus! Beautiful view, nice beach. Loved that the kitchen was so well stocked!!!

As described. We were cozy and enjoyed the stay.

Plenty of space for a quick acadia hiking trip with my seven year old son and our dog. Beach access, fire pit and everything else on the property were great!

This property is perfect! We are a family of seven, two grandparents, two parents and three teenage girls. The size of the house and bedrooms were just right for us. Being able to walk to the beach whenever the girls desired was ideal. We took small trips to explore the islands and bought fresh lobster from the fishermen in Stonington. One wish for the property is a gas grill for BBQ but otherwise, it’s perfect! We would love to stay here again!

The property was a great find, very warm & open for a family. The screened in porch alone was worth the rental. The private beach is small but is a very good place to go fishing (my son loved it). Assuming the water is well-based, so it does have an odor, but it that should be expected. (Didn't bother us at all). We used it as a base camp to get to Acadia, and it was all we hoped for. I would highly recommend and would stay here again.

It was clear this property had recently had some renovations along with some new furniture and decorations, especially in the living room. It was nicely decorated and the furniture was comfortable. We would have loved a queen or king sized bed in at least one of the rooms.
One glaring negative in our experience was the extremely strong sulfur smell of the water. I honestly could barely stomach taking a shower it was so strong. A couple of times I decided to boil filtered water and use that to bathe in. The odor lessened a bit by the end of our week's stay. There's a substantial water filter under the sink in the kitchen which eliminates the smell for drinking and cooking water, but it's only connected to that sink. Anyway, I know this can happen in some areas depending on where they get their water from, but I would have appreciated someone mentioning it in their review. When I texted the property manager about it they said that wells in this area can have sulfur, and it's safe. Anyway, it definitely impacted our enjoyment of the house.

We have enjoyed this house two years in a row. It is spacious, clean, and well appointed. Best features? The screened in porch is wide and wonderful and has rocking chairs and rocking benches, so comfortable. I love the beach for swimming, the water is clean and clear and warmer than the open ocean. A bit of traffic noise didn’t bother us.

Beautiful house! Very private!
Fantastic screen porch, short walk to the water, large living spaces. Well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. The washer and dryer is in the 2nd bathroom, I think in place of a 2nd shower, so we needed a shower schedule for 6 adults, but glad to have the washer! Close to our Maine family and friends - I would rent this again!

We were happy with the house. It was right be Deer Isle and comfortable and only a short walk from the Reach. The hosts were very responsive.

Our three generations (8 people) gathered here for a week. We loved the fantastic porch, and the location was perfect for day tripping to Deer Isle, Blue Hill and Castine. We thought we would be spending a lot of time enjoying the water, but sadly you cannot see the shore from the house. The view of the bridge from the beach is amazing, but the proximity results in constant traffic noise, even at night. The beach is on Eggemoggin Reach, so we enjoyed a parade of every sort of boat skimming by when down there. Also, watch out for copious and healthy poison ivy along the shore— it was a battle to keep the dogs out of it, so they ended up leashed, and one of us ended up with a rash. The kitchen is well stocked (no dishwasher, undersized fridge!), and table sat the whole family together. We had a nice time and are thankful the owner listed the property during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pictures do not do this house justice, it is huge, clean and very comfortable. It is a short hike to the seashore and down some steps to a secluded beach. Loved looking for shells and rocks after the tide went out every day. We could let our dogs off leash to run without any worries. We bought fresh lobster in stonington and brought them back and cooked them soooo delicious!! Bar Harbor was about and hour away, we had an awsome time there one day. El Frijoles restaurant is a couple miles away from the house for a different change of pace and the food was fantastic!!

Exploring base near Deer Isle
Gorgeous perspective of Deer Isle bridge and water once down little path. The house was fine and had clean linens and kitchen supplies. A good launching pad to see areas from Castine to Acadia and easy access to groceries and good restaurants.(Some mix up with cleaners and a few bumps with cable and tv access made for irritating rainy days, but was seamlessly compensated.)
