We had a wonderful stay at the Overlook. The view was fantastic, use of kayaks & fire pit was great & we totally relaxed with our pup. The only thing we could have used was info on where the transfer station was, how to get the bedroom TV to work (we figured it out, though) & a starter roll of paper towels. Aside from these minute issues, this is a wonderful cabin to escape to! I’d definitely stay here again!

Great cottage for our vacation, weather did not cooperate but we had a great time. We did find a full diaper on the beach that was quite disgusting but other than that no compliants!

The house was clean. Has a beautiful view of the pond. (Seems more like a lake). Internet was strong, good video. Bring your own Roku or Fire dongle.

We loved our stay at this super cute little cabin. The view of the lake was so beautiful, the beds comfortable, and the place was clean. 😍
We were there in June and a heat wave came through with temperatures up to 95°. There is no air conditioning in the cabin and with those high temperatures it made sleeping uncomfortable.
The only other thing that was a bummer was that the next-door neighbor has a light that turns on at dusk and stays on ALL night near their dock. That light, ruins your stargazing and any night photos of the moon and the lake. I understand that the owners of this cabin can’t do much about their neighbors, but it was really disappointing (and unnecessary) to have light pollution at such a beautiful location. — Over all this little cabin is charming and we enjoyed our stay!

This little cottage was the prefect get away for our family of 5. Our children LOVED the upstairs loft area and having their own little beach with the kayaks. The beach is beautiful and very relaxing. The loft area is more for children than it is adults. I would say the cottage fits 2 adults (bed downstairs) and 3 children (loft upstairs) perfectly. We did need to purchase some items (toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, cleaning spray, and a sponge)- so plan to bring those items with you. Everything else was provided- towels, cookware, glassware, Keurig machine, etc. Neighborhood is very quiet. Bar Harbor is about 45-50 min away. Communication was great. We did not have any issues with service. Overall we loved our stay! Thank you!

Our family had an amazing stay at the cottage. It was clean and cozy. Having a beach right outside was very convenient. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming. We had an awesome vacation and highly recommend this cottage and management.

2nd visit to “the cabin”. This is one of our favorite places on Earth. If you want peace and tranquility in the most beautiful setting, this is it!

This property is a hidden gem! It wasn't fancy but had all the necessities. The queen bed was beyond comfortable affording us the best sleep we've had in weeks. Though we didn't get to take advantage of the kayaks and beach because of windy weather, it was a lovely place to start and end each day.
It was a little further from Bar Harbor and Acadia N.P. then we had anticipated. Round trip was usually between 1.5-2 hours. But it was worth it to wake up to that view and have that kind of silence in the evenings.
We would definitely stay there again. Thanks for the hospitality.

Really like the fun and convenience of staying in a cabin. This property needs a deep clean and a lot of maintenance. 29 miles from Acadia and most days/nights took us about 50 minutes to drive. Furniture is worn out and uncomfortable to sit in. Shower worked well. Price was a lot less than a Bar Harbor hotel. Best part was the waterfront location.

When we arrived ,after driving for 4 3/4 long days ,I spent the first day cleaning and scouring the stove , cabinets inside and out, the bath room fixtures , and front windows, fortunately it was raining ...but the view was
outstanding!. We left the place in pristine condition , clean, stocked with a new set of glasses, and necessary cleaning products. Nichole, you might want to hire a new cleaning service.
This cottage is a GEM! Gorgeous view , nice shore, and fire pit . We entertained dear friends for dinner, We cooked and ate more delicious fresh seafood .(Johnson's on Main St. in Blue Hill )
I would highly recommend this Maine getaway, on beautiful Toddy Pond .

You get your own beach with this place. You’ll want to be there all day. Great swimming and sunning. The cottage is cozy and well appointed. Would love to go back!

Lots of great things about this property:
Views
Beach/Lake right out the door
Clean towels and linens
Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay
Book and game collection
Kayaks/Paddle boat
A few things could use improvements but did not negatively affect our stay:
Bathroom was a bit messy on arrival - hair and sand in shower
Wi-Fi hotspot was out of data but we did not inform the host as we didn’t need it
Many of the windows didn’t lock but we felt very safe
Wood was cracked in bedroom window and door
Many of the blinds were broken/didn’t work but this didn’t affect our privacy
We would return to this property for another visit!

The house was in a great location. Unfortunately there was some housekeeping items that were neglected and I never got internet. The host was away but able to reach a friend to help clean and take care of some of the issues and she was gracious about refunding me some of the money.

We love this place; stayed there twice this year (2022); because it's on the water with the kayaks and paddleboard made it all so enjoyable. The firepit on the water's edge at night was a great way to end the day. I am from the south; my son lives in NYC and my daughter and her family live in New Brunswick so it's a great meeting place for us.
Also, the recommendations made by the owner/rentor of nearby places to go were totally serendipitous! (Blue Hill, Stonington, etc)
Hope to get back there many more times!

This rustic cabin in a perfect getaway with a VIEW that is simply THE BEST! Good location, easy drive to Bucksport and Cadillac Mountain!

The cottage was small, but had everything we needed. The loft was reached by a fold down ladder that was difficult for me to reach, as I am only 5 ft tall, and my sister that was with me, is not much taller than me...so it was a bit of a struggle.
The views out the window overlooking the pond were amazing with the color change of the foliage!
It was a nice place to relax, after visiting Acadia National Park, during the day.

We enjoyed ourselves, wish we knew they had a Kuerig when we packed. First couple of days was very hot in cottage (no ac) but we worked it out. Place needs some definite TLC.

Beautiful setting! Cabin could use a deep clean and some repair of the kitchen cabinets. Great kitchen cookware. Bed and cabin temperature were great!

Amazing view and setting
The lake location was ideal, bed was extremely comfortable. I have realistic expectations about cabins however upon arrival the floors were still dirty. I am also a very courteous pet owner, the neighbors dog however pooped on the rental property daily FYI.

Quaint Cottage for relaxation!
My boyfriend and I wanted to get away from our busy lifestyles. This cottage right on the lake was the perfect spot! Hearing the loons in the morning on the lake made it a perfect paradise for a relaxing getaway. The views were so lovely! The cottage was very clean and inviting. Definitely would stay again!

Maine 2022
Comfortable, good location, clean. Cabin needs some TLC, a few things were broken (cabinet door, shower curtain, window locks). We were hesitant to use the outdoor grill, due to grease build up in the bottom- fire hazard. Very quiet, no traffic and beautiful view of pond.

Nice and quiet, enjoyable stay
WiFi and TV situation no so good.
Book of instructions how to use TV would be helpful

This cozy cabin is a gem with a magnificent view of Toddy Pond.
The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, along with the gas grill outside. The queen memory foam mattress is amazing! We found the cabin clean and comfortable in a very relaxing setting. Sunsets on the pond are really special. Just know that the internet is very inconsistent here but the 4G signal kept us connected fine. We brought DVDs and games with us for the evening. Nicole was very responsive and accommodating to us. We would definitely like to return again!

Lovely Lake Cottage on Toddy Pond
We had a relaxing and wonder vacation in this quaint lake cottage.
It was very clean, well equipped and a soothing place to call Home Away from Home.
We would definitely return for another vacation here!!

Remote location with stunning views!
From the little dirt road to get to the property, to the breathtaking views over the lake, we were beyond happy with our stay.
The cabin was clean and had plenty of amenities. Beds were very comfy, kitchen was well equipped, bathroom is small, but water pressure was very good in the shower, and we never had any issues with hot water.
Its very quiet throughout the day, and especially at night you can hear the loons and slow movements of the lake.
We couldn't get a consistent signal from the included wifi (provided through a cellular mifi hotspot), but that wasn't a big deal for us.
Overall this was a wonderful stay and we would happily return!

Surry Lake House
This is a beautiful location and a nice property. If you are looking to "unplug" from the world, this is a great place to do so... and you will, as there is very limited access to Wifi. Not a large concern of ours as we did want to unplug, but not much access to streaming TV or the internet if this is important to you... bring some DVDs for entertainment. The lakeview and beauty of the surrounding area is the prime attraction. The kitchen should meet all your needs and we slept well. The property manager was hard to get a hold of, but we did not have too many concerns here either. Overall, a great spot to see Maine. The town of Ellsworth, 15 mins away, will meet all your shopping needs, and your are just under an hour's drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia.

What we expected based on the listing
Cabin was about 700 feet including the second-floor loft. A ladder is used to access the second-floor loft. It was kind of basic but clean and a good value unless you think you’re getting luxury :-) Beautiful view and sun set from the main room windows. The cabin contained pretty much everything we needed. pots, pans, dishes, basic spices, paper goods, clean linens and towels. We cooked chicken, etc. on the outdoor grill. Friendly neighbors. We brought materials for sanitizing etc. but didn’t feel it was necessary once we arrived. Having a campfire on the beach and the fire ring was nice.
We couldn’t get the provided US cellular hotspot to provide a constant video stream. Too much buffering. We ended up using our AT&T cell phones as hotspots to watch The provided Roku, Netflix, etc. This worked nearly perfect. There is a TV in both the main room and the “master“ bedroom.
Had a great week fishing on the lake including smallmouth bass around adjacent peers and at the rocks in the middle of the “pond”. Picked up some largemouth bass in the sheltered cove about 1/4 mile north. No trophies though :-( . Senco worms proved to be the most productive. I heard there was a bunch of perch out there but didn’t fish for that. there were life preservers and paddles for the kayaks and a small fishing rowboat. Some days were a little rough on the water from the wind but others were dead calm.

Great stay
Overlook cottage provided for a beautiful family vaca. The lake is gorgeous and the beach is perfect for swimming. The kids swam for hours on end. The cottage feels a little smaller than depicted in photos, but was fine for our family of four. Bar harbor and Acadia are about an hour drive which we did 2 of our 7 days, just to find something to help keep the kids busy. Fishing in Toddy Pond was also good, we brought a boat and had good early morning success on largemouth and smallmouth bass. Overall great experience

Location was great 👍🏻
Location of property and the view made this stay! Small for our family of 6 but we knew that heading in- view makes it worth it!
Only negative was the wifi was very weak. They have a “mifi” system for the TV (Netflix and Roku)
We hate watching TV on vacation but with 4 little ones it’s often a life saver.
Netflix movies never loaded due to wifi strength.
We luckily had 2 DVD’s with us and popped those in at very end of day to settle kids.
Close to many attractions- neighbors were very nice, beautiful sunsets!

We had perfect unexpectedly warm weather and the lake was calm and soothing, including the distant cry of the loon. Only negative note: a skunk was helping itself to garbage that had been left outside sin trash can.we let it be

Perfect Vacation
This cottage was exactly what we were looking for! Close to Acadia for hiking and Bar Harbor for some delicious dinners. We were also able to do some fishing off the canoe that was provided with the property. The cottage itself was exceptionally clean and had everything we could need. Very cozy! We would definitely stay here again!!

relaxation at toddy pond
was a great spot to kick back and relax and unwind. However the internet and therefor tv honestly didnt work at all. So that was not as described but i really wanted to get weather news updates. Place was clean and comfortable. Crystal clear water and faces west so awesome sunsets. Highly recommend.

We had a great time staying at this camp on Toddy Pond. The accommodations / location were perfect.
Perfect location. Private beach which had a gentle slope into the water which was perfect for our children to play in. Close enough to Acadia for day trips. Ice cream nearby!

Sweet property on a beautiful lake.
Our overall experience was good. We were two single women friends. One bedroom downstairs was perfect. However, the sleeping loft up a ladder could only be usable by children old enough to safely climb ladders up and down, and/or, younger, flexible adults under 5'2" tall. In the loft, the queen bed had no mattress pad and the blinds were missing from one window causing very early awakening! BBQ is rotted out and unusable. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to make a good meal and there were ample towels in the bathroom. All in all, a good stay, but should be stated that no man could fit in the loft without crawling on his hands and knees.

Cozy, light and bright cabin with amazing lake access
We had such a delightful stay at The Overlook. The cabin is the perfect mix of "tiny living", rustic, cozy, and modern. My boys (ages 7 and 9) LOVED sleeping in the loft. We loved sleeping in the comfortable temperpedic master bed. The house is well-stocked with exactly what you do need (enough towels, toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels) and none of the clutter left behind by previous visitors (lots of toiletry samples, cabinets of spices, etc). We had gorgeous weather for fishing, kayaking, and skipping stones on the beach as well as a lovely campfire in the fire ring. We did see and hear the loons! We had a rainy day during our stay and the cabin was comfortable for a family of five to lounge around and watch television a bit. The large windows made the house seem much bigger, even when our family of five was all in the living area.
The location is great. Very close to Ellsworth for antiquing and dining. We enjoyed a meal at a local pub there that was fantastic. We went to Acadia on the good-weather days we were there and the drive was easy. We really loved everything about the cabin and would go again and recommend to friends! It was friendly for kids and made our trip so easy. Thank you!
