Amazing stay. Fab location, great staff, lovely environment. Breakfast and lunches were both great. Tended to eat out in the evenings.
Bathrooms a little tired - would prefer shower not over bath. But know it is due a full refurb

The food at the Colony Club is good - the staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. The property has a beautiful beach and gardens. been staying there for years and we are familiar with many of the staff - wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.
a facility ATM to withdraw cash instead of having to go into town. It lacks a small shop to buy essentials like sun screen and over the counter medicines.
Colony could use a makeover.

Breakfast was fine, location was good. Our room had a nice view of the beach. Most of the staff were helpful, if not exactly cheerful.
This hotel is past due for a facelift of the rooms. Plumbing is a bit old, tiling is a bit moldy in the corners, door locks are jiggly, etc. The rooms are pretty small, too. I really felt like it was poor value for money. We were paying $1,000/night for a hotel room that would have been maybe $150/night in the US. Not sure the view of the beach was worth the extra $900/night!!

Location
Property is run down, overpriced, old fashioned and is shutting down for a 9 month refurbishment, which I think sums up the property.

Excellent elegant hotel with beautiful gardens, very friendly stuff. Room was spacious with patio. Very tranquil atmosphere. Beach are well kept with comfy launch chairs. Waters are amazing. Hotel is located within short stroll along the beach to Holetown mall- A must visit. Try le Paris caffe- the best pastries there. Mall has live music, nice collection of shops, cafes, restaurants, icecream shop and grocery store.

Locatie is goed. Strand alleen zeer klein en druk.
Kleine kamer. Lekkende airco. Slecht functionerend sanitair.Accommodatie is verouderd en slecht onderhouden.
Prijs kwaliteit verhouding is heel slecht. Restaurant maaltijden matig.

The location and beach area were lovely.
It’s very tired. Everywhere needs an update. The dinner in the restaurant was our least favourite meal the whole time we were on the island. It also lacks any atmosphere on an evening.

l emplacement
la plage
le déjeuner s est détérioré très ordinaire pour la qualité de cet endroit. le café est vraiment pas bon et maintenant un cappuccino coûte plus de 10 dollars us et de mauvaise qualité. très décevant.

Cozy resort with private beach, spa, gym and pool, it has everything you need. Very nice breakfast. Close to Holetown (15 min walking distance).
The hotel doesn't have all-inclusive formula, which for the location of the resort would be ideal, since there are not many places to go around for dinner/lunch. You will end up with a nice bill for every extra (lunch, dinner, drinks, etc.). also, the menu offered doesn't change, so we ate all week the same stuff, except for a couple nights we went out to Bridgetown (taxis from the hotel are quite expensive...rent your own car!)

Good location right on the beach
Dated complex with average food at best. It seems a common theme in Barbados where all the hotels need some love care & attention

Excellent Breakfasts!
Canapes on the beach were a pleasant surprise.
Dinner food was excellent.
Water sports were excellent. Another hobie cat would be welcome as the one available was constantly in use.
Friendly staff.
Some wines on the menu were not in stock.
Restaurant service a little slow sometimes.

it’s relatively small and friendly

Breakfast very good every day
our tv in the room did not work , it took several days to find out you had to turn the tv off at the socket then turn it back on to find the wifi connection every time you used it which was a pain ............also our shower door leaked water every time you had a shower so the floor was soaking unless you put towels down to soak up the water................believe it or not we stayed in the same room 3 years ago and the shower had the same problem then !...........................however the rest of the holiday was great, been back to the hotel 5 times now and will go back again, even with the above ( hopefully they will of sorted this out for next time we go )_ !

Staff Were Friendly
Room we're very worn and dated
Beds very uncomfortable
No proper showers very dated
Airton very noisy in Bath and main room
Rooms very dark no natural light

the staff are excellent, without exception. from the front desk to the water sports, house keeping, we were incredibly well looked after. we stayed in rooms 127 and 128 which are more like a small villa on its own towards the rear of the property. we loved sitting on the terrace in the late afternoon and watching the monkeys picking and eating mangoes from the mango tree. great pool, and good facilities all round, plus a good location, with easy access to Holetown
not much, the restaurant is perhaps not as interesting as it could be, but we enjoyed trying lots of other places outside of the hotel anyway

Breakfast area wasn’t clean, location grand
Presented better
3.8
location and some of the staff
room was tired and very dated some of the staff not friendly at all
3.8
Great location. Pool area was excellent. Great landscaping. Beach is stunning. Lots of amazing sunsets. Staff were friendly.
Rooms were quite tired and in need of refurbishment. For example, noisy air conditioner which didn't work very well. Floor tiles chipped. Bed was lumpy and a bit uncomfortable as a result.
Food was ok but not exceptional and would possibly expect better in a 5 star hotel.

The Colony Club was absolutely gorgeous and just perfect for a stay on the Platinum Coast. the staff were amazing - friendly, helpful and would always have time for us. Our swim-up room was just stunning. The beach by the hotel was beautiful too!!
The main pool was out of action (maintenance) but back in operation now I believe. that’s the only reason I didn’t rate it a 10 overall. The hotel did compensate us for the pool being OOO, so that was great.
3.8
Great rooms and location. However the main pool was not functioning and we are not made aware of that at any point before getting to the hotel. So sitting on the main terrace and on the loungers was unpleasantly noisy and dusty.
Staff communication could have been a lot better. The younger staff was good, responsive and energetic but the old staff was a disaster, mostly clocking time, looking bored at every question, generally pretentious and unhelpful and making mistakes.
3.8
excellent location colonial style hotel. the staff were exceptional. the food was excellent. very clean and comfortable
there was nothing to dislike
3.8
Fantastic breakfast great location except the swimming pool was under maintenance We were financially compensated for this
The dinner 3 nights was excellent 2 nights not so good
3.8
British atmosphere, tranquility, good food and excellent service.
all ok

I must say that this is one of the most beautiful and appealing hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were spacious and tasteful, the grounds are so lush and well maintained, and pools and beaches are gorgeous as well. Such an amazing view of the sunset every night!
The only complaints that I had are that the bathrooms really need some upgrading and repairs, the food could be better, although its not bad, and the service was sort of up and down. All of these would go unnoticed in a more average hotel, but when you are paying this much, I would expect these things to be pretty spot on.
3.8
Excellent location. Room very nice. Some of the staff were very helpful.
Very sad to see what has obviously once been a beautiful hotel in a bad state of repair. There is some much needed maintenance required. Apparently the main swimming pool has been closed for several months and there are no signs of it opening in the near future. Shortage of sun beds. Sun beds were tatty and dirty. Service at lunch non existent.

The choice was good, and the location was OK, and staff relatively efficient. I especially liked the prepared Eggs Benedict which were cooked well, and the pancakes were done nicely too. Staff toured the sun lounges on the beach asking if you wanted anything, and came round with an ice cream refreshment mid-afternoon - nice! All in all, the standard of food was good.
The timing of breakfast which finished at 10.00am could be a bit later. We had one or two late nights and gym mornings so a 10.30am or even 11.00am finish would have been better. we stayed at the Crystal Cove the week before (all inclusive) which is part of same group, where it was 11.00am. Although there seemed plenty of tables they were not all set, so we had to wait (not long) a couple of times before being seated. A couple of times we had to ask for coffee capsules and milk / tea bags for our room as they weren't replenished after being cleaned.
3.8
the staff are amazing , front desk can not do more to help , was luck enough to meet the manager and she is amazing nothing to much trouble
the staff , the property is a little tiered but the staff more than make up for this .
3.8
location
old fashioned needs a. complete refit

The main pool was closed and we eventually found out it would be closed for months. Lack of communication between the (managerial) staff and customers. We weren't told about the pool being closed ahead of our trip nor when we checked in. We eventually found out, from other residents, that a room credit was being added in view of the pool closure, again this was a lack of communication from the staff. We complained about the pool closure but nobody came back to us. We then complained again days later and the issue was finally dealt with. The hotel also needs updating, which is apparently happening later in 2023. We have stayed here before and really enjoyed it but this time we were very disappointed.

Close to Holetown
Dated hotel that needs some updating. Hotel main pool was closed. Hotel car park is small and used by staff, some way to reception.

The hotel was in a great location, very comfortable & the staff friendly
All good
