About this house rental
Welcome to Happy Landing Bungalow!
It’s a large house with a huge yard. Feel like you are in the country but be close to everything.
The Hide-A-Way restaurant is a stones throw away, the Jigger Shop a comfortable walk. Gretna lake, roller rink and rails to trails a short drive.
The house offers four bedrooms, WI-FI, Cable TV, Smart TVs, Sauna in the Primary Bedroom and a Jetted Tub (not a hot tub) in the Primary Bathroom. The lower level is handicap friendly, featuring a walk in bathtub, a kitchenette, a queen size sleeper sofa, a large flat screen tv, and a twin size trundle bed in the adjacent room.
The house and grounds also boast a creek, gazebo, decks, and a large covered porch, and lots of parking!!!
It’s close to Hershey, Lancaster, Lebanon, and Harrisburg, with a short 30 mins. to the Harrisburg airport.
For those first time guests that are not familiar with Mount Gretna, Happy Landing and all of Mount Gretna is served by our local volunteer fire department located a stone’s throw from the house, just across the street from the Hide-A-Way Restaurant. It is not uncommon for the siren to sound at any time of day or night. There is no reason to be alarmed if it goes off during your stay as it is the way that the fire company alerts the volunteers that a call has come in that they may need to respond. We appreciate your understanding.

Very spacious cottage for Mt Gretna. Lovely house and stay.

The house was nice and spacious. It had a very homey feel. I loved the historical pictures of how the house progressed over the years. The porch was so nice and loved drinking my morning coffee and listening to the birds. It was secluded yet close to restaurants and activities. A very nice stay!

We had a great time during our stay in Mount Gretna. Besides the Hershey Park fun we also enjoyed a self guided Covered Bridge tour, the Yuengling Factory tour and Ice Cream at the Ice Cream place in town....and the decks on the house were great...

We needed a place that would sleep a lot of people as we were traveling to a big lacrosse tournament with three locations with another family. This place was perfectly situated between the three fields we needed to be at and gave both families the space we needed to be comfortable. This is an annual tournament and we will definitely be looking to book again next year!

We stayed at the Happy Landing Bungalow while we were in town for our son's baseball tournament. There was plenty of house, and the yard was great. You can tell this home has been loved by the same family for years. We had a little problem the first day, but the owner took care it immediately. Would stay here again if we come back to the area.

Loved reading the history of the home and the families that have grown up in it. We felt very cozy and LOVED the outdoor yard. My son and I played football and my wife and I loved the swing seat to just watch nature. All the kids loved the bunk beds and my wife really enjoyed the sauna. The proximity of the restaurant was incredible. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your lovely home.

Love this place. This was our 3rd time renting. Great location and the family loves it.

We loved staying here! Wonderful home. All contact with the host, though little was necessary, was positive and timely. The only negative I would say is that you are almost forced to purchase renter's insurance; the alternative is paying a very hefty security deposit.

My family/friend group come up there every Halloween for the PA Ren Faire. This house was a cozy spot to stay with beautiful views, walking distance from the Hideaway restaurant/bar and got some AMAZING natural light. We hope to be back!

The house was very clean, and had everything we needed for a nice relaxing weekend. They provided the sheets, towels and even paper products! It is a lovely house in a very quiet neighborhood and we really enjoyed staying here - will definitely come back again!

We stayed at the Hideaway for Labor Day weekend and it was a charming house! Perfect distance from the event we were in town for and very pleasant for the remaining days we were in Mt. Gretna!

We enjoyed meals, walks, the lake, the tabernacle and the ice cream shop.

A comfortable, well-equipped house close to everything we wanted to see.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It was within walking distance of the Jigger Shop, the Playhouse, playground and the Tabernacle. The only problem was that the 4th bedroom in the back of the house required that you had to go through another bedroom to get to it. This was a mild inconvenience.
The kitchen was fully stocked and paper towels and dishwasher pods were provided. Toilet paper was also provided.
Nice place with a nice deck and yard.

My hockey team plays at a nearby rink and this is our 2nd year staying at this house. While it did rain all wknd so we couldn’t enjoy the outside, the inside was A+ for keeping us entertained. The upstairs has a kitchen with everything you could need and the living room hosted movies & games. We will be back!

Our trip was a get together for old friends. This place was perfect. Both the location and the space. Plenty of parking which was important as we had 5 cars given everyone was traveling from different locations. Mt Gretna is still a relaxing place to visit (we haven't been there in many years). The porch and yard were a big plus! Very clean and plenty of linens, towels and supplies like TP, paper towels, etc. I've been to several rental properties which usually have minimal supplies which are also low quality. This was a great place!

Plenty of room for 3 siblings and spouses to get together to celebrate a 70th birthday milestone. Kitchen well stocked with dishes and cookware. Great location for walking to see many unique homes in this village.

Everyone thought the place was a perfect fit for us. We were able to head to the Renaissance Faire for the day and when we got back, walked over to Mr. Gretna Hideaway for dinner and drinks. After that we were able to enjoy each others company by hanging out in the living area and screened in porch. It was also mentioned that the place was very well built because we couldn’t hear each other snoring through the walls….haha!
The house was well equipped and had everything we needed during our stay!

This house was absolutely perfect for our stay! We had family and friends staying with us while we were attending a wedding at the PA Renaissance Faire. It was such a great location! Only had to walk across the way for dinner and drinks, and the house had so many sleeping options and very comfortable. Everything we could have possibly needed was provided and more. I would definitely recommend this house for a large group, we plan on booking here again for sure!

It was just perfect for a girls getaway. 6 of us gathered to celebrate our friends 40th birthday!!! Super Easy checkin and checkout. Loved the sauna and the location tucked away.
The ONLY thing that we missed was tissues.

We had a wonderful and relaxing experience at this house. The lodgings and property were absolutely lovely. We enjoyed the VHS selection and excitedly explored the grounds. The bridge, gazebo, and swings were an excellent find. We tried the tavern across the street, which was a perfect walking distance, and we're excited to visit the roller rink. We will definitely come back in the future!!

This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed at this property. Our family adores it. Recently we stayed at a different property and it just made us appreciate this one even more. I love that the shelves aren’t bare and everything has personality. Plenty of necessities like toilet paper, paper towels and soap. It seems like a small thing until you go somewhere that provides nothing and you have to spend half your trip shopping. I brought 4 teenagers and even though my kids are on the quiet side, I still worry they’ll get bored but the location is perfect! Plenty of stuff to walk to and the property is beautiful. The owner and property manager are both responsive and friendly. Charlotte is super sweet. Thank you for having us again!

Fantastic stay!!
#1: the beds: the beds are the most comfortable ever. They are all topped with memory foam. There were plenty of blankets (super soft) and pillows throughout the house.
#2: bathrooms: there are 3 full bathrooms and they are well equipped with enough towels for 8 people who showered daily.
#3: property: this is one of the most unique houses I have ever stayed in. There is so much character and style to this house! Several areas for people to gather and talk, many TVs, games throughout the house and a huge yard! The decor is classic and tells you all about the history of the house and the area.
#4: the area: it took us about 25 minutes to get to Hershey. We ordered dinner from the pub across the street and the salmon was amazing!! The neighborhood is quiet and also very unique!
#5: the hosts! The hosts were fabulous. I left a necklace behind and they mailed it to me! Very responsive and kept us posted about a person coming to look at the house to do improvements, even though it would not at all impact our stay.
If ever in this area, we would love to stay here again!!

Beautiful home great location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The home is perfect for the three generations that stayed here during our trip to Hershey Park. Can really spread out with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms!
We enjoyed sitting out on the upper deck, and relaxing in the living room after a day of sun and rides. The downstairs reminded me in many ways of my childhood. The local fire fighters were kind enough to show my three year old grandson their fire trucks. Just a lovely, graceful place that brings you back to a better time, yet with all modern conveniences. We were minutes away from Hershey and would love the opportunity to stay again sometime. Thank you for your hospitality.

Location was great for our sports tourn. Plenty of beds for our large party. Great communication with owners.

Would stay again
Prime Location, very hard to find a place with so much property. (A croquet set would be awesome here!!) Price was reasonable.
The entire outside deck and sitting area needs to be power-washed. (Borderline gross).......and buy a full size coffee pot,..they are like $20. Those were my only two complaints.

Always a great stay :)
I believe this was our 3rd stay at this lovely property. My kids see it as a “home away from home”. Staying here is always a joy. It’s well stocked, and has plenty of space for the family or (multiple families even) to spread out.
No complaints whatsoever. Will stay again!
