Gorgeous little hotel. Recommended!

Delicious breakfast! Friendly, helpful staff. Room was on the small side but had a premium feel - modern, beautifully clean and well decorated. Have already recommended this hotel to friends and will definitely stay again when over that way!

The evening at the hotel was difficult for to the behaviour of some guests. This was quite simply not for the hotel to be judged on. What I can say is that the hotel have been fair without question having explained what happened. It is on Thai basis I provide a good review. The staff were excellent, the hotel beautifully kept and the after care/management excellent.

Property generally ok. Staff helpful .

Room 1. Near utility room and reception. Staff start shouting up the corridor and banging about in utility room early morning.

Avoid at weekend unless you like a party

last minute getaway & found a hidden gem

We booked here last minute & so glad we did. Lovely Lodge, dog friendly (they also provide dog bowls, bed & a chew) - our 12yr old Border Collie loved it here. We were in room 1 - ground floor room which was ideal. Room was spotless & couldn’t fault it. We decided to have an evening meal & we liked the concept that a minute up the road was their sister establishment’The FenceGate Inn’ The pies are beautiful, we ate in the pub bit as we had the dog but there’s a restaurant serving dinner. Then a nice walk back to Fence Gate Lodge. The hotel is a wedding venue too but music is turned off at midnight. We had a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely & tasty & a good portion - again they catered well for our doggie & set up a table in a nearby room & brought our dog breakfast too. Thank you to the staff for your hospitality. We enjoyed our stay & will be back!

Lovely stay

Lovely hotel, kind friendly staff however hotel far too hot, limited breakfast, a bit of a mix up checking in but sorted eventually also no idea how to work coffee machine need to leave clearer instructions for this. Also couldn't find numbers to call reception

nice relaxing Easter break

lovely hotel with really friendly staff - just what we needed for a weekend away with the dog. Was really nice to be able to take our dog to breakfast and he was treated to a sausage each day, very spoilt.

Won’t be going again. Too expensive for what we got.

No bath when I specifically asked for one. No upgrades available. Mirror was tiny in room. Too hot couldn’t turn down heating.

I stayed in room, 22 and the problem we had was when you were walking about in the room, the floor made a really bad noise. I think this is you need to look at

Fully flexible. we had a last minute change and needed to bring our dog! swapped our room to dog friendly (and they really were - lots of lovely touches). Great night sleep! and lovely breakfast!
