Serene and beautiful, inside and out. This is a very special home with all of the necessities for a comfortable stay amply provided. We so look forward to coming back.

We had a great time during our stay at the Mill Creek cabin! The views of the river couldn't be beat & we enjoyed spending time reading on the porch & watching the wildlife from the huge living room windows. We will definitely be back!

Cozy cabin, perfect for the two of us and our dog. Nestled in the woods with an active stream running by! We loved the quirky interior decor! Philippe was a great host and easy to work with.

We loved it!

We had a very cozy mid winter stay! The sound of the brook and view from the kitchen/living room was even better than pictured. Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely time at this cozy, comfortable cabin! The kitchen was amazingly stocked, and we had beautiful views of the river through the giant windows, we felt like we were in a story book! We had a wonderful time!

The setting for this home is lovely. A riverside cabin with complete privacy. However the interior was not to my liking. It definitely is in need of some comfortable seating. The view from the living room is stunning but without somewhere comfortable to sit and enjoy it was wasted. Luckily for us the weather was warm so we spent most of our time outside on the deck but in the evening there was nowhere to sit inside comfortably. Also if you are a senior like us having the beds upstairs and the bathroom downstairs made those late night trips hazardous. In the future I will be sure to check the description carefully. On a positive note the host was very quick to respond to any inquiries and the check in was simple. Having a later checkout time also worked well for us.

This was the 2nd time my husband and I stayed at Mill River. This time for our 20th anniversary and nothing could be better than a place surrounded by peace to connect with your life partner. There was a small hiccup when we arrived but it was swiftly handle by owner. We couldn’t have had a better get away. We will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mill River. Very tranquil area with wonderful walking trails near by. The river and dam on the property were more entertaining than television. The cabin was well stocked, especially the kitchen, and very comfortable for our week stay. We hope to return some day!

Lovely house with everything you need for a peaceful and gorgeous stay in the Berkshires. Right on the river; kitchen is well equipped. Beds are comfortable. Pet friendly, we found it easy to relax. Nice trails nearby. Host was very responsive. We would absolutely stay again. Only caveat, bedrooms are upstairs and stairs can be a challenge for children, the elderly, and older pets.

Beautiful scenery, many trails to hike, cooling babbling brook to wade in on hot days. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Philippe is a nice host and the location is stunning and well situated to lots of nature and country life. Great Barrington is not far away for more civilization. The house is quite cluttered and didn't leave much space for us to put our food, toiletries, etc. The kitchen needs renovation. It is a simple cabin (no WD or DW) and as that it is a special place, but really needs some work to make it a great stay.

My wife and I went to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary, we could not have found a more peaceful place to do so. This property is a place to unplug with a beautiful view of nature, as well as surrounding area. It has a very welcoming feeling as soon as you walk in, feels rustic, it's just what I was wanting when planning this trip. Sadly it did rain most of the time we were there, but this certainly did not ruin the trip. Just gives us more to do next time we go. If you are looking for a beautiful place to unplug to enjoy and explore nature then this is the place! Philippe (host) was extremely responsive to any questions we had. I highly recommend this!!!

All we wanted was a secluded cabin with a beautiful view where we can relax and rest for a week and we got exactly that! The property is gorgeous even in the winter months. We were hoping for a dusting of snow and we got it. We sat on the couch and watched the water day and night. The view at night with a fresh dusting of snow was like a scene out of a movie. We can't wait to return during the summer months so we can sit in the water all day. The house has a lot of character & charm. We felt welcomed and relaxed from the moment we stepped inside. This was our first non-hotel trip. We didn't know what to expect. Let's just say that we brought way too much stuff with us. This house has everything you need and more. Just bring your own food and drinks. All of the furniture is comfortable especially the upstairs bed. If you're looking for a place to watch TV all day then this place might not be for you. Who needs TV when you have a beautiful view? The cabin has a bunch of games you can play with the family or a lot of books so you can curl up on the couch and read a book. My wife loved to drink her morning tea and read in the little office nook. We're not nap people but caught ourselves napping once per day. It was sleep that we definitely needed to catch up on. My wife really enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. I enjoyed cooking on the outdoor Weber grill, it's right outside the door so cooking in the rain isn't even a problem. We travel with our dog so it was really nice that the property is dog friendly. Even our pup was relaxed all week. We can't wait to return.

The house could use some TLC. There were a number of things that did not work or were inconvient. The lights over the stove did not work, the stove only had two burners that worked, the dining room light switch was on top of the light (I had to stand on chair to turn it on) The TV was on the second floor in the master bedroom. Windows were dirty with lots spider cobwebs. The shower had an additional button to push to work. Couch was old and uncomfortable....but, thankfully the beds were not. BUT, the location was so beautiful, with the brook and waterfall right off the back deck. You soon forgot what was wrong and only enjoyed what was right. We went for 5 days without watching TV, we sat by the firepit, drank wine and just talked. The problems of the world were forgotten...there was no covid and no politics.... just us and the stars. I recommend this location ...just know it's not perfect.

Incredible Riverside Spot!
The house was extremely comfortable, very clean and filled with fun and eclectic artwork and fixtures. Grilling food and sitting in and along the river just steps from the back porch was the perfect summer Saturday kind of relaxing we came for. The river is clear, cool and beautiful! There is a spotlight and big picture windows so you can continue to watch the river all night. The babbling is incredible to fall asleep to! Host was lightening speed responsive and beyond cordial. Wine slushies and a tasting at the winery 15 minutes away and watching A A New Hope at Tanglewood we’re the only reasons we left the property all weekend. We cannot wait to return!!

Tranquility
Isolated enough for privacy and close enough to other homes to know that I was near civilization. Serene and calming scenery. Contact person was available, helpful and easy to talk to.
4.8
rustic, bucolic
A knockout setting overlooking a stone ruin and a stream. Comfortable and as well stocked as anyone would wish, but not far from a general store and 10 minutes away from two excellent restaurants. I am already planning another visit. LS

Tranquility and a babbling river
The cottage is secluded and peaceful, yet convenient to the joys of the berkshires. We love hearing the river as we sleep and the beds are comfortable. Definitely recommend!
