About this house rental
A recently renovated recreational paradise on the water in the Adirondacks with 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. The "Adirondack Stags Leap" vacation home was built as a large single-family summer home in the 1930's in the historic Adirondack "Camp" style, with major renovations in 2016-2019. It was designed by a well-known Adirondack architect on a double lot that includes a wooded area, private tennis court, volleyball courts (sand & grass), large yard, fire pit, boathouse with dock and wide waterfront. This camp offers incredible recreation and living space for multiple families, couples, friends, or extended families alike. It is ideal for a revitalizing spring, a fun-filled summer and an adventurous autumn and the famous Adirondack color-changing leaves. We have magnificent trees on sight and the fall view of the hillside across the Channel is a must-see.
The Camp includes a comfortable lodge-style living room with fireplace and wide screen TV with cable with a selection of movie channels, a brand new large kitchen with island seating 6, and a dining area with antique table seating at least 8-10. The kitchen opens up to a large deck (one of two decks) with picnic tables and barbecue nearby and traditional Adirondack chairs. Three of the 6 bedrooms offer king-size beds (linens provided) with private or semi-private bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms offer 2 twin beds each, one of which is on the first floor with easy access. an en-suite bathroom and TV. The sixth bedroom is a bunk room with two bunk beds; both beds are full-size on bottom and regular-twin on top. The home is fully heated with dual modern furnaces, if needed.
Outdoor living features a large screened-in porch with seating and a table, a sitting deck, the previously mentioned enormous off-kitchen deck, patio area and a large front lawn, providing ample space to read a book, hold great conversations, or just watch and wave as the boats go by on the channel. The property covers approximately 2.5 acres and includes rustic woods, private tennis & picketball court with basketball hoop, sand volleyball court, grass volleyball/badminton area (or bocce lawn), fire pit, patio sitting areas, waterfront dock, and a boat house with an open slip. We do not provide watercraft, but you are welcome to bring your own or rent from many local businesses - from paddle boats and kayaks to speed boats, and most things in between.
An attached laundry (accessible off the kitchen stoop) includes 2 washers/dryers for ample laundry capacity. The garage, accessed by ramp from the laundry, has a ping pong table, tennis gear, and badminton rackets. A few balls are also available for the basketball hoop, volleyball court and kicking around.

"rustic" is what to picture in your mind so you are not disappointed by the less than clean furniture if you have to spend a lot of time inside the house. The kitchen is nice and the outdoor space is great. (except maybe for the rule to put out your fire by 10) the tap water had an issue, so the owners made sure there was ample supply of bottled water.

Wonderful ADK Getaway!
What an amazing ADK lodge. Plenty of room for larger groups and the property had something for everyone - water, sports, and plenty of room for r&r! Great communication from the owner and clear expectations. We will definitely be staying here again.

Our week’s stay at Stags Leap was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Our group (2 grandparents, 4 parents & 5 children) had everything we could hopefully want at this beautiful property. The house offered ample room for us to spread out, and the kitchen facilities were excellent. The grounds & waterfront were outstanding! The tennis/pickleball court surface was brand new, and the sand volleyball and badminton areas were enjoyed by both adults & kids. The waterfront area was a hit with everyone for both fishing and swimming. We could not have asked for a better location to enjoy our family reunion. We are looking forward to returning next year to continue the good times. Thank you Liz & Brian for such a great home, and for all you did to make it so special.

Our 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration
The house was perfect! Plenty of inside and outside spaces to accommodate all ages. The sand volleyball court was especially helpful with young grandchildren. The dock made it so easy to launch our kayaks, and was a beautiful spot to rest by the water any time of day. Very well equipped and comfortable. We had a fabulous family celebration!

LDW 2020
We had an amazing stay at Stag's Leap over LDW with family and friends. We played countless games of volleyball on the sand volleyball court. Enjoyed morning kayak rides and nightly bonfires. The kitchen was amazing and comes will all the necessary tools to make gourmet meals. The home is large enough to have your own space even when vacationing with a larger group. The owners are incredibly kind and easy to communicate with. We can't wait for our next family vacation at Stag's Leap!

Stag’s Leap
Our large blended family loved your place. It went above and beyond our expectations! We were looking for a true “Adirondack “ vacation and were blessed by discovering your place. I see that we may have to book two years in advance to return in the month of July. Is that possible?

Glorious Week @ Stag’s Leap
Let’s say you are an extended family of 12 people of multiple generations and appetites for activities. Cooking - brand new kitchen which has been remarked on by others but deserves special mention for the great layout and nice touches like appliance garage, coffee and wine station and 2 sinks and garbage drawers.
Bedrooms were well laid out and comfortable, all slept well. Screened in porch was great for late night game playing while toddler and/or great grandparents slept
Tennis courts, fire pit, and dock all very well used.
The ONLY caveat here is that you will be ON the channel and you will have boats putting slowly by your shore all day Sat/Sun.
Overall this is fantastic place well suited for larger groups like ours who like to do some things together and some things not.
Owner was great on communication at all phases.

Best week ever!
We absolutely loved our week at Stag’s Leap. There was so much to do and we loved that there were fun options for everyone! We played volleyball, tennis, and card games. The kitchen was a fun gathering place in the evening. We brought kayaks and paddle boards and rented a pontoon boat for 5 days. We all had a wonderful time making memories together. Stag’s Leap was everything we hoped for and more!!!

Stags Leap is Great
My group of friends and family really enjoyed our time at Stags Leap. This was our 2nd year renting. The improvements to the kitchen and the master bedroom made our stay really enjoyable. Looking forward to returning next year.

Third year
Our family has gathered at this home for the last 3 years. This year was our best due to our grandchildren’s ages, the phenomenal weather, the updated kitchen and upstairs bedroom. Liz was responsive to a small problem with the garbage disposal. Given that the town only picks up garbage on Wednesday, we had a bit more work getting our garbage and recyclables to the transfer station at the end of our stay. Not the owner’s fault, just required better planning on our part.

This place has everything! Well appointed at the perfect location
Loved staying hear. We had five kids under ten, they never had a shortage of things to do at the house. The kitchen was very new and had everything you would want. A wonderful place and we would definitely return.

Perfect for a large group with kids.
We had so much to entertain kids 13 Years old and under. Tennis, volleyball, basketball were all options. Biking options into town. Easy access by boat from the end of the Channel into 1st Lake. Great vacation spot for larger families to stay in one spot!

Absolutely perfect
The place was large and roomy, plenty of seating spaces for everyone. Loved the large front screened-in porch. The beds were very comfortable.
I would recommend to everyone.

Adirondack retreat
It was a true Adirondack experience! The location is well positioned on the end of the channel near first lake and with easy access to town too. The outdoor facilities were amazing and supported our big family perfectly. House was extremely dated and could use some updates. The floor coverings throughout should be replaced. A good improvement would be to try and figure out how to get a common bathroom on the 1st floor. Additionally the kitchen and bathrooms needs updating.

Perfect Adirondack Retreat
Stags Leap was a terrific fit for my group of friends and family. The location on the channel between First Lake and the Pond was perfect because it provided quick access to First Lake for boating as well as the ability to take the boat in to town and enjoy the charms of Old Forge. The house is the perfect combination of Adirondack charm with all of the amenities you can expect from an upscale rental. The sand volleyball court and tennis court really set this property apart. My group and I absolutely plan to return for many years. Well done Liz.

Old Forge home
We had a wonderful, wonderful vacation. There were 15 of us, each family had a bedroom for themselves and the kids shared the bunk room. So. Much. Room! I don't think we were in house much as weather was glorious too! All the beds were made up with fresh linens and clean. Clean was one of my biggest priorities and the house was clean.
The sand volleyball court was amazing! We had a volleyball coach and former player with us, so this court was perfect. We played badminton, ping pong, a lot of tennis and quite a bit of basketball. We even rode bikes into town. Kids and adults alike were never bored.
We even squeezed in several hikes and a trip to the nearby water park. Also had time for ice cream and the cute shops in town.
Had plenty of room for our kayaks and two boats on the dock. Just perfect!!! And nice swimming spot off the dock.
Definitely will return. Kitchen was a bit cumbersome, but adequate and fully, fully stocked with pans, dishes, etc. So glad there was a dishwasher too. And loved the separate fridge in the garage!
Only real need was room for more garbage, 15 people make a lot of garbage and the previous renters left a lot of garbage and not much room for ours. However, we did the same to the next renters, and felt badly about it. We did take some home with us too!
Also, a very nIce touch, is the fire pit and all the firewood is provided. How sweet is that!
Owners and caretakers were very quick to respond to our need for assistance with the water pressure after a power outage-not their fault. The entire town was out for a few hours due to a grass fire.
I simply cannot say enough about this home, we thououghly enjoyed it. What great memories and fun. Thanks so much.

Great Vacation
This place is ideal for an Adirondack vacation. So many outdoor spaces and recreation possibilities. Near by Eagle Bay is home of the best cinnamon sugar donuts.

Amazing place with more space than needed for our extended family of 15!
Great yard with tennis court, sand volleyball, badminton, ping pong table in garage, space on dock to sit and relax and tie our pontoon boat up. Beds were extremely comfortable, inside shared areas were also very expansive! We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend Memorial Day weekend. Owner very responsive to messages.....

Wonderful
Great getaway for multiple family stay. Only downfall was comfort of the beds . Some people slept on couches due to hardness of beds. But everything else was awesome. Kids were never bored. Adults used tennis courts more than the kids. We saw a bear on a walk the very first morning we were there. Just a great place to vacation
