Loved it all, Fred was the perfect host. Very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is what you would expect in the location of where it is and added to the feeling of stepping back in time. Perfect location for walking and exploring the town and free parking in the street. Fred even gave us a walking tour after a lovely breakfast before we left. Highly recommend.
The rain, ah but alass, Fred can not be responsible for that. So nothing.

Espace douche trop petit. Petit déjeuner classique (bonnes confitures, pain et croissant moyen)

The location was fantastic - just opposite a lovely laneway into the old town. The street is lined with trees and full of grand houses, shops and restaurants. Le Jardin was clearly one of the grand houses and has some beautiful period rooms at the front that are available for guests to use. Parking was easy in the street. The owner was generally chatty and speaks good English.
The bedroom was very dated with a strange toilet/bathroom layout. It could be a really lovely place with some renovation and improvements in facilities. There were no coffee or tea facilities in the room (uncommon now in France) - the owner said this was to protect the furniture, but the furniture was not as high-quality as most places we stay.

Frédéric was a great host who understands hospitality. We had problems with our rental car and he went to great lengths to help us, communicating with the company. The house is amazing, very tastefully decorated. We would have loved to see the garden in full glory, but alas, it was freezing and pouring with rain! We might have to come back som day. Thank you Frédéric!

A perfect location in the centre of the village.
The host was very welcoming and helpful.
The hotel oozes character and very clean.
The gardens are indeed secret and very tranquil.
A great place to chill with a glass of wine after a day wandering around the historic old town .
The host also speaks excellent English which is a huge bonus..for a non French speaker.
Breakfast was a delight..overlooking the garden
I can not speak highly enough of both the hotel and the very warm welcome and helpful owner who encourages the guest to feel at home..
Enjoy ! You will not be disappointed.
Having ro leave !!!

Great location. Simple but spacious, comfortable, and clean rooms. The owner was friendly, hospitable, and helpful. The included basic French breakfast was fresh and tasty. We’d stay again.
We’ve stayed in countless French hotels and B&Bs and often make the same criticism - a fan in the room would always be appreciated for sleeping on warmer evenings and to circulate the air. Not sure why they are so rare, but they seem to be across the country. That said, we slept well here.

location
toilet didnt work for two days, no interior extractor. breakfast piece of french bread and on some days a croissant, owner insisted on sitting at table with us whilst we had breakfast, eating space one table for two couples so had to go in 'shifts'.Owner at best exaggerated ! No change of sheets for 5 days and no cleaning of room. One small waste bin in the very small shower area, water at times hot then cold ! Common kitchen area was a mess and small !!

I loved that I could park right outside and it was a great location. Frederic was very helpful and friendly. The place is clean and had wonderful croissants and jams for breakfast. He even made me milky coffee! The gardens are beautiful and if it’s fine you can enjoy them to read or have breakfast. One evening we had paired wine snd cheese board and discussed the ways of the world. As a single traveling felt safe and welcomed.
I liked it all
