We booked this because of its location for a canoeing trip we wanted to take. It was a nice secluded area that was very comfortable. We will be looking at this house in the future!

Farmhouse was great. Personally, I would night take my car on the gravel road to get back in the house again.

Very nice. Nice hosts. Very secluded beautiful area. Only negative is directions were a little hard to follow for some of us city folks and some of our party got lost. Maybe a marker on some of those roads would benefit. Also some of roads down there were very rough not for small low riding vehicles. Suv or truck is best to take. Other than that really enjoyed the stay. Was very relaxing.Thank you to the hosts

If you enjoy privacy this is a great stay! We got just what we expected at this home. We were away from the city lights and got to enjoy the beauty of nature! The gravel bar is absolutely amazing, our children really enjoyed playing in the creek. The hosts were very kind, making sure we made it and got settled in.

Rustic, Remote, beautiful scenery! There is great history associated with the property and the owners were friendly and available.
If you are an A-type personality, sensitive to odor, insects, cob webs, rodent droppings and cleanliness—-this cabin may not be for you. Then there was “Sid” the house black snake who resides in the basement!
The pull out couch was terrible, but the actual beds were comfy. The cabin was really better suited for four people vs six.
Part of the roads to the property are minimum maintenance and trucks, SUVs are more suitable than small cars. No Wi-Fi as stated, and the land line is a party line.
Overall, we had a good time and made the best of a less than ideal lodging situation for our particular group!

We had a lovely stay, soaking in the land and habitat that has been lovingly tended. There is a great diversity of flora and fauna, which the house sits comfortably among. It's a little ways off the highway and our cell phones didn't have services. It was perfect. Thanks!

This was the respite we didn't know we needed until we arrived! If you're looking to be truly free from distractions, this is your place(no wifi or cell)! Natural beauty surrounds you on all sides! Our family came thinking we would spend our time exploring nearby parks and historic sites, however, we found it was hard to pull away from the majestic woods and peaceful waters that flanked this property. Instead, we spent our first day kayaking and fishing Beaver Lake and Sinking Creek, as well as, an informative tour of the mushroom farm. The water-access-only cave and surrounding area is breathtaking! The owners were available and more than willing to give us a tour of their farm and its workings. We are so grateful for this beautiful place and highly recommend it to anyone looking to unplug and refocus on God's glorious creation!

Nice house.
Lake is 3 feet from house. Fantastic
Old barn on property and other old dwellings.
No cell or wifi. But isn't that the reason you come this way.
Would love to stay there again.

We enjoyed being in nature, checking out the creeks, lake, bird watching, and star gazing. We hiked around the property and found the cabin to be perfectly comfortable. We are already planning for another visit!

This property is so full of wildlife. We enjoyed watching all of the birds, deer, beaver, cows, butterflies, and dragonflies. The creek is so clear and a great place for the kids to play. Hosts were very accommodating. The kids loved looking at all of the old buildings and hiking around the property.

Great place to get away and enjoy nature. We spent most of our time swimming in the private creek and watching the deer and birds from the deck. It was very relaxing.

Great place to unplug and reconnect with family
My family had been down in the area a few times before, staying at Echo Bluff a couple of times and renting a cabin close to Eminence another time. We were looking for something off the beaten path and we definitely got it!
The house is out of the way, but the hosts have thought of everything. We stayed for 3 nights and had everything we needed. There’s plenty to do and we had no reason to drive anywhere during our stay. It was really hot, so we didn’t hike as much as we thought we would, though we did walk around some in the mornings and check out the mushroom farm. Our daughter enjoyed meeting the farm cats. We did get to bring home some mushrooms. They were delicious!
We spent much of our time in the creek, amazed that we had this beautiful spot all to ourselves!
We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the hummingbirds. We even saw a family of turtles sunning themselves on a log in the lake. Our daughter caught so many tiny little frogs. She thought they were adorable!
The hosts did tell us to watch out for snakes. We didn’t see any of those, but we did see plenty of spiders. I guess that comes with an old house in the woods!
Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

Wonderful place to stay
Our group of four spent three nights at the Beaver Lake house and had a terrific time. The property is beautiful, with lots of wildlife, areas to hike and explore, a nice, private gravel bar on the creek, and the lake, with its scenic rock bluff. The house is very nice, with updated bathrooms, a large kitchen-dining-living room area. The long lakeside deck that runs the full length of the house was a terrific place to lounge, look at the scenery or look for birds and wildlife. We enjoyed the lakeside fire pit as well, and the four outdoor folding chairs there. I wish we had been able to bring a canoe to take out on the lake.
The owners were very kind and helpful and we really enjoyed the tour of the mushroom farm.
Being disconnected from the internet, with no wifi or cell service made for a relaxing getaway with family (there is a landline if you need to make calls).
We had an issue come up the last night of our stay and had to contact the owners. They were very helpful and accommodating and couldn’t have been nicer.
This is a great spot, and one I hope we can visit again.

Wonderful off the grid getaway!
Beaver Lake House is a fantastic way to get off the grid and get away from it all. We swam in the creek and enjoyed watching sunsets on the huge deck. The house was clean and well appointed. We are repeat customers and hope to come back year after year.

Loved the wildlife we saw each morning in the pond: beaver, herons, muskrats, raccoons... Loved having 2 bathrooms and a washer/ dryer! Great place to come home to after a day of floating or hiking! It is rustic, but that's fine by us. We just want the basics and this has all of them, plus beauty and seclusion.
