We enjoyed the home! The location is close to restaurants and golfing! We spent a day at Mackinac Island, only about 25 miles away! We loved the sandy lake for paddleboarding & kayaks & swimming!! The sunsets are absolutely beautiful! It was our second year renting here!

The house was great for our family vacation. The beach and boat dock were what we were looking for, for our vacation.

We've been coming to IR and Burt Lake for years and as grandkids get older we keep needing bigger places. We found this house and it fit the bill quite well. And the beach front on the lake was great (sandy and shallow for a long way before the drop off). Nice dock. Evenings around fire pit.
Owner was great both before our arrival and post trip. Communication was quick and he listened to suggestions to make his house an even better stay going forward. We'd definitely recommend the Case house for families and friends.

Our family was blessed to be able to find this listing. It fit all of our needs. The only thing I would suggest is that there are curtains on the livingroom windows that face West. When the sun sets- it gets pretty warm inside the house. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our week stay at this beach front home. The sandy beach was great for the kids to enter and exit the lake. We used the boat hoist for our boat, which was a plus we didn’t realize we had. We liked all the couches in the living room and the bedrooms meet our needs with four families. The owner was was readily available to answer our questions and help out.

The photos don't due the property justice. Nice home with plenty of seating and sleeping area. Lake is shallow (under 3 feet) for at least 60 feet from the beach. Mostly sandy bottom makes for a very clear lake. Owner has plenty of beach toys for kids and a nice outdoor seating set. Our only issue was our boat breaking away from the buoy during a storm - no ones fault - just be careful if a storm is coming. The kitchen could have a few more things like measuring cups and 9x13 inch pans otherwise it is well stocked.
House is a short drive to several areas - Petosky, Mackiaw City, casinos etc.
Overall we had a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful time in Burt lake. Cottage was everything we could need. Only issue we had was having to wash all the bed sheets and towels. With 11 people and 8 beds used this took the better part of 4.5 hours to do. I hate to think that the people before us didn't want to wait so they just made the beds and didn't clean the sheets. Other than that it is a great cottage and beautiful setting. Easy to get in and out of. Close to all kinds of places for activities for the kids if it rains.

We had a great week!
Outside:
The home is situated on a somewhat protected area of Burt Lake, so we found the water to be calm most of the time we were there. The lake is shallow pretty far from shore, so if you have a very deep boat, just keep that in mind. Great for swimming with children. Pontoons and most boats should be no problem. Lake has a hard sand bottom, no rocks or weeds to be seen. There is a nice dock and the beach is nice and sandy, with some small stones washed up on shore (if you look, you will find Petoskey stones as well). We really were hoping for an off-shore anchor to be available. We didn't think there was one, but after we were there almost the entire week, we ended up finding it. The bouy marker must have came off and floated away.
We love this part of Michigan because you have access to so many lakes and rivers, all connected by deep and well marked channels. Make sure you head up the Crooked River and see the swing bridge in Alanson and also down the Indian River to see Mullet Lake, the Cheboygan River, the Locks, and everything. Very cool stuff all accessible by boat.
The yard is big enough but not crazy big, and you are a little close to the neighbors, not unusual for most lake front homes. The only reason I bring it up is because it is not the kind of yard you can play a football game in - just play in the lake.
House:
The house has everything you would need and has been updated nicely. The home faces west so the sunsets are amazing - but the home can warm up on hot afternoons so be sure to close the shades and leave the windows open. If you are able, you might want to bring a few fans as well. The beds are plentiful and very comfortable! We were surprised at how roomy the house felt. It does have 3 full bathrooms, 1 of which is part of the master suite. TVs had cable and smart functionality if you are interested in watching Netflix or something instead of enjoying the lake :).
Host:
Available for anything and willing to help! Thank you!
Things I might change:
Maybe move the checkout earlier and have the cleaning service do the bedding - or have two sets of everything and have the cleaning service take the bedding and towels offsite for cleaning on check-out/check-in day. The book that details the house rules and so forth requested that we do the laundry including the sheets before we left, which is difficult to get all of the beds and towels done in time by 11am. For the price, it seems like a big ask.

Lovely home in good condition, exactly as described and met our expectations.
The lake is lovely at this location, with a nice sandy bottom and petoskey stones strewn around everywhere. It's great for floaties on the lake, but note that it stays quite shallow for about 150yds before getting deep enough for adults to swim.
The house is nicely furnished, and has really nice HD TVs. The beds are super comfy, and there are a lot of them stuffed into the bedrooms. The kitchen is well stocked (but a pet peeve of mine is cheap cutlery which is not fitting for a $3500/wk property).
The property has lovely outdoor furniture and a great fire-pit. Note that there is "quiet time" past 10pm, which was rather disappointing because that's really only 30mins or so after sunset in summer. It's understandable though as the property is very close to the neighbors. We had one neighbor complain at midnight because of the noise, and we were only conversing quietly. Please keep this in mind if you're like us and like to have a nice chat around the fire after dark.
Also, the owner called us and enquired about how many people we had staying at the property because he had been contacted by a neighbor about us moving in a mattress (which was merely a pillow-top for my father-in-law's bad back). That made us feel a bit "monitored" which I can't say I really appreciated. Just a small niggle, but deserves to be mentioned in order to give a fair review.
All in all, a very pleasant property in a lovely location, with just a couple of small caveats. Recommended.

There are so many great things to say about this home! We loved the spectacular views, great sunsets and well appointed kitchen. The sandy beach and lake bottom are great for boating and swimming. Each room was well outfitted and we loved the great room over-looking the lake, such a great place to have a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. The owners are great to work with and saw to every detail. Thanks for a great vacation!
