Our beautiful 60 x 65 foot completely fenced in backyard provides you with the privacy you deserve and peace of mind knowing your pet has plenty of leg room to romp about. Unlike most properties in this community, ours is flat without dangerous rocks jetting out of the ground or steep slopes and is equipped with a spectacular 4 foot diameter burn area circular fire pit with firewood provided, hand made Guatemalan Hammock, a gas grill, table with 4 chairs, and Adirondack chairs - the perfect environment for a family and friends get together for a BBQ.
Enjoy Wireless internet throughout the home / back yard and Basic Cable TV (150+ Channels). The living room features a HUGE 65 INCH FLAT SCREEN TV with an XBOX One S & a Playstation 4 which play CDs, DVDs, Blue-rays and have activated Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Commercial Free Hulu Plus Accounts giving you access to thousands of movies and TV shows at the touch of a button. Highland Lakes Cottage features 3 bedrooms (Bedding Provided) - 1 Queen & 2 Fulls (All Memory Foam Mattresses), 1 full bathroom (Tub, Shower, Toilet, Sink), 1 Laundry Room with commercial washer and dryer - No trips to a laundry mat, and an 8 x 20 Sun Room (SMOKING IS ONLY PERMITTED IN THIS ROOM)., Living Room / Dining Room, and a spacious Kitchen with a Waist High Oven (no bending) Ample parking is also provided in the front yard.
Guests have access to any one of the 5 pristine lakes in the community (no gasoline powered boats permitted on the lakes) to enjoy life guarded swimming & great fishing. Great hiking & boat rentals are only 12 min away at Waywayanda State Park.
Right on the corner of our block, just a 3 minute walk away, you will find a beautiful lake with baseball diamonds, basketball courts, tennis courts, jungle gym, and a concession stand with a bathroom as well. Enjoy long walks, bike rides, or a jog down winding country roads.
There is plenty to do in the surrounding area as well ... Highland Lakes is a Private Community in which all residents are registered with the town. As per a New Town Ordinance, all renters / tenants must pay a registration fee (Mandatory Fee added to each booking automatically) and must provide me with the First and Last Name of each member of your party, including minors, the Home Address and telephone number of the person who booked the reservation as well as state and plate info for vehicles. I am required to provide you with a copy of the By-Laws which you will find in the compartment of the coat rack mirror at the entrance of the cottage.
During the Summer Months, registered tenants my obtain parking decals & beach tags at $2 per day per tenant. Beach tags may obtained in the club house office, I suggest bringing an ID with you in case you are asked for it.

The beds, bathroom and kitchen were clean. We enjoyed the gaming systems a great deal. We also enjoyed to outdoor space with firepit and hammock. My kids enjoyed the outdoor toys and ability to fill up and small kids pool to play. Beach 1 was very close to the house but walking there would have been a challenge with 2 young kids on a somewhat busy road. Overall, we had a good time. The owner was quick in responding to my questions and concerns and made adjustments with our needs which was appreciated. I was not thrilled having to pay to use the washer and dryer and the home does need some updating.

My family of 5 and 2 dogs were in the area for the wedding and this property was perfect for all our needs. Michael the host checked in with us upon arrival and ensured that we knew he was there if we needed him. In addition, the property was full of detailed instructions of how to navigate the household and how to stay safe. My children loved the coin operated arcade and by using quarters it limited their time (so they can go outside and enjoy the fresh mountain air!). Everything was just as Michael had outlined on VRBO and his emails. The mattresses were nice and comfortable, we had access to on site coin operated laundry facilities just for us in case we needed it, the air conditioning operated well, and the TV was big and provided us access to watch the Olympics and pretty much any thing else we wanted (something I was not looking for but really helped at night). We did not get a chance to explore the area as much as we wanted to (but don’t worry, we will be back), but we were able to walk the dogs around on a road behind the house that gave us beautiful views of the lake, we did notice that we had easy access to delicious Jersey pizza, and if we wanted, could go to the water park or legoland. Finally, having dogs, it was nice to have a fenced in yard and space to place our crates. Our dogs loved the new smells and were exhausted when we came back home. We are definitely going to stay here again and would definitely recommend this property for any one with a family of

My family was down for the Spartan race weekend. The property is in a perfect location for proximity to the mountain, as well as Beaches and playgrounds for the kids. It comfortably fit four adults and two kids, and the fenced yard was great for the dog. Michael is a thoughtful and responsive owner, and we are looking forward to staying again next time we are down.

My stay here for an extended weekend was certainly nice. The cottage while on the smaller end is very nice from a design standpoint and the fenced in backyard is really amazing especially since Michael is extremely welcoming to dogs which we greatly appreciated.
My experience with Michael was great and he made sure check in was easy and checked in on us after the first day at the cottage, really nice!
I have to be 100% honest with my review despite having such a good experience with Michael, I have to say the listing is not totally accurate as the master bedroom does not have a memory foam mattress. My wife and I constantly fell into the middle of the bed, making sleeping difficult for us who are used to a firmer mattress. I have to also say that it’s very shocking to see a coin operated washer/dryer in the unit, with a cash machine, and a coin operated arcade game, all were a first for me in the many years I’ve been using rentals like this. And I mean good business, and definitely capitalism at its finest it’s just off putting and takes away from the charm you want when renting a VRBO. The only other issue happened on the second night there when the fire detector went off at 3am twice. It was also extremely hot, as the main thermostat was under a hotel style lock box, so while AC units are there, it battled with the heat, which I would assume costs more money then giving ppl access to the temp control but we made it work. Overall 4/5

We stayed in the house for a week, we liked it a lot, and the backyard for my dog was completely closed with fences. there are several beaches, lakes around, we kayaked, there are supermarkets nearby, and we even went to Kalahary an hour and a half from the house, thanks Mike, we will rent again soon

Great house for family. Nice fenced in backyard to keep the dog and toddler close and safe. Home was clean and just as described. The beach is beautiful but it was too early in season for swimming. Lifeguards on duty only weekend and everyday starting June 24. Will plan on returning but later in season to enjoy the beaches and water park. We went to Castle fun center and enjoyed our stay!

My husband is through hiking the Appalachian Trail and we needed a place to stay for a long weekend so he could rest. This cottage was the perfect place to stay. It’s located only eight minutes from the Stairway to Heaven parking area of the AT. The owner was attentive and answered all of our questions. The cottage had everything we needed. The fenced backyard was an added bonus so we didn’t have to take our two small dogs out on leashes. Thank you for a great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and all the extra touches that Michael has put into his home. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and all the labels of explanation were very helpful. The Highland Lakes artwork on the walls was fun to look at. The firepit was also a bonus.

This home was perfect for me and my two small dogs to get away and enjoy the Highland Lakes area. The house is beautifully appointed and has every convenience. The backyard is wonderful and completely fenced in and private. Michael was available by text and was helpful. I look forward to future stays at this adorable cottage.

For our small group, this was an ideal getaway for the Labor Day weekend. The backyard was fantastic, private and had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. It was totally fenced in, so we could let our toddler run freely without worry. There was an amazing firepit we used both nights of our stay and lots of chairs and tables. Michael was an exceptional host and I would definitely book this property again.

So we just got back home from our stay at Highland Lakes Cottage. The place was pretty much just as advertised and the perfect fit for our family (kids 9, 8, and 6). We loved being able to be "associate" members of the Highland Lakes community for the week. Our kids enjoyed taking part in the many activities they offered (both crafts and sports) and swimming in the lake. While at the cottage, our kids enjoyed playing catch and cornhole in the backyard and getting their video game fix at the end of a long day on the Xbox and PS4. We were also able to bring our dog and she enjoyed playing in the backyard and taking walks on the quite private streets surrounding the lakes. The best compliment we can give is that on the way home the kids asked when we can go back. Thanks Mike.

Cozy, Close & Great Communication
This Highland Lakes cottage was my family's escape from NYC for Easter weekend. There were many features that made it a just right choice for my family, but I particularly want to note the host's thoughtfulness. You feel it during every part of the process -- from early inquiries, to texts about logistics and check-in. Most importantly, you experience it during your stay. Michael has taken the time to label features of the house that are not self-explanatory, which makes staying in a new place so much easier. And joining delightful Highland Lakes signage featuring bears and their pals is a sign at the door conveying welcome to guests of every kind. These touches put us at ease, and the tall, swaying pine trees and fire pit n the back yard induced even more relaxation. And for families interested in visiting Legoland, you'll be less than 30 minutes away. All in all, a sweet escape we hope to repeat. Thank you, Michael!

This place was perfect for our needs. We were a short distance from family but had our own space when we needed it which was nice. The area is beautiful and it is a short drive to the lake, walking trails or the store. Would stay there again for sure.

Michael was a spectacular host. He was in constant communication on my reservation and any updates throughout our stay. His property has all the amenities for a weekend getaway or a week long getaway, for a couple or for bigger families. The property was clean and in a beautiful location, near the lake. The house was in a great location for all we planned to visit- Lake, the Daily Bean, horseback riding, hiking. It was our first time traveling with our dog, so we chose this property bc of the yard (and good reviews). we enjoyed the fire pit for smores, and the close lake (Beach One) was so nice. Note for pet owners: rules have changed and dogs are not allowed on beaches til after 6pm. Michael was very quick to respond and informative. My daughter enjoyed the large tv with xbox (it was near 100deg every day so we actually used the tv more than planned!).
