This was our 3rd year staying here. The house accommodates us all pretty well and the indoor pool is always a hit with the kids. The location is a huge advantage as some of the families are within 1½ hour travel so they can commute back and forth for the two days. This works better for their families. We had it booked Fri night through Monday morning. Unfortunately the well pump failed late Saturday evening and we were without water. Cathy and Brian did bring many gallons of water on Saturday night and contacted the plumber who said he would be there Sunday morning. Not knowing the extent of the failure or how long it would take to have running water, we had to tell a couple of the families not to come on Sunday. The plumber did have it fixed by noon but it did alter the entire Sunday plan and we weren’t able to have the family get together we had hoped for. We also spent most of the morning waiting for a status on the repair and for the repair to happen. We realize that something like that is out of anyone’s control but when you are paying a premium price we were hoping it could have been corrected sooner so Sunday could have continued the family reunion. To say the least we were disappointed and it was quite a let down.

All I can say is that 24 people stayed here. Everyone loved it. Kids especially.
The history around Harpers Ferry is amazing.
White water rafting, harpers ferry ghost tour was great.it was a great area. And host kept me informed.

This house was just what we were looking for. The house was as advertised and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

The house comfortably accommodates a large group, with most having a private space and bathroom. The large loft with 4 bunk beds is a great way to include those without little children to care for - but the loft is not protected from the noise of the house. The common living spaces are perfect - the kitchen easily flows into the main family room, and there is another living room for smaller groups. We fit 25 of us at the diningroom table when we joined it with the kitchen nook table. The playroom is among the finest features, with lots of toys and games for toddlers and school-aged children. You need to get into a car to go for a walk or safe run, but you don't have to drive far. The pool is as-advertised and a big hit with the children. Our family is very cooking-focused and found the kitchen equipment to be of lower quality than we're accustomed to. We brought our own knives, cutting boards, and napkins, and recommend others do the same. The basement play space is great!

Great weekend away with our extended family! Plenty of room for all of us!

We had a large family gathering (30+ with drop-in visitors) and we had a great time. Beds and private baths for the “elders”, bunks and sofa beds for everyone else. We would come back to this house for another fun time!

We had a group of 13 family and friends stay here together for my daughter's wedding. It is a beautiful, clean property with plenty of bathrooms, and indoor pool, and a game room in the basement. I would stay here again!

This home offered everything we needed to celebrate our family reunion of 23 people of all ages. From the playroom, to the pool, game room with every table, to the yard games there was plenty of entertainment to keep our family occupied. All rooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed meals around the extra long dining table and the kitchen was well equipped. We truly appreciated that they seemed to think of everything!

Stayed at this location for a family reunion and was incredibly surprised at the space this rental provided! Our stay was perfect and the rental is as desribed.

Very responsive and helpful property management, spacious home, well stocked kitchen, tons of firewood for the pit, and has pool towels and toys and a kids playroom (toddlers) in addition to the larger game room (pool, table tennis, etc). Easy to get to from the DC area. Comfy furniture.
Overall, the place is nice and spacious, but nothing fancy. The kitchen could use a little attention (ex: kitchen has a broken cabinet door, the panel on the dishwasher kept falling off, one of double stove doors didn't close fully [so we didn't use it], the ice maker didn't work, etc.). I would also say the cleaning upon our arrival was good but not great. Finally, the outdoor trail we walked from the the yard was really overgrown w thorny plants. Not as big of an issue for adults but was too much for the younger kids. Just things to note, but nothing that bad at all!!

My family had a great reunion at Colonial Estates. Big beautiful home, great yard and pool for the kids and lots to do in Harpers Ferry.
We will be back!

We stayed at the Colonial Estates for a family vacation, adults and children from 9 months to 12/years. Location was fantastic! The house was spacious, clean and the pictures do not do it justice. I would highly recommend this house to anyone.
Thank you for all the great memories

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Colonial Estate with 15 family members. The house, grounds and all the amenities provided allowed us to create many great memories during our weeklong stay. Thank you for a grand time in the house.
The house’s location also allowed for our family to enjoy the many historical sites and many other activities available throughout the area.
Kathy, the hostess, provided great support and promptly responded to any questions we had. The house’s accommodations, game room, pool, fire pit, children’s area and other cared for amenities allowed us to have a carefree and memorable week’s stay.
Again, thank you for the opportunity to celebrate and create great memories for our family at this wonderful home. Our family will well remember the good times during the week for many years to come. We appreciate this wonderful way to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

We filled every bedroom with adults and kids. Such a cool space with plenty for everyone to do including the basement games, indoor pool, fire pit, front and side yards for games, backyard patio with seating, nearby trails, and the nearby historical and water attractions. House had everything we needed with grill full propane tank and the pool was clean and warm and had lots of pool towels and toys. Really like that the pictures included floor plans so we could plan room assignments ahead of time since people had staggered arrivals coming from multiple nearby states. Price was reasonable. Would stay there again for sure.

A wonderful house for our ladies retreat. The owners were so helpful and answered all my questions right away. I would absolutely use this property again for another retreat.

Absolutely stunning and perfect in every way. I cannot recommend this place enough!

We really enjoyed our stay. We had 11 adults and 11 kids. The loft area was a perfect hang out for the kids. All of the adults had there own private space. We would definitely do it again.

Bryan, Mack are amazing host. Both of them very responsive and listen to our concerns. they made our stay very much comfortable. A very rating for their support.

Great location in beautiful WV, spacious for large extended family reunions, pool and game room are awesome and were used most by our clan.

We had a fantastic family holiday weekend gathering with 20 adults and 2 children age 2-86 years. From the moment we walked in we knew, it would be a great house. It was very clean and nicely decorated. There was plenty of room to spread out with lots of comfy seating. The pool was large, clean, had towels and floats, and was a good temperature. The game room was huge. We enjoyed playing pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, darts, air hockey and foosball. We made a fire in the fire ring outside with the abundant supply of firewood. Beds, bedding and towels were nice and comfortable. It was great to have plenty of toilet tissue, soaps, shampoo/conditioner/body wash provided. We had an amazing time together and would definitely rent again. Thanks !

We had an excellent time celebrating my 40th birthday here. The house was clean and exactly as advertised - the only complaint I would log is that only one of the burners worked on the burner which made for a tough time cooking our Friendsgiving meal.
4.8
Our extended family of 14 stayed at the estate with plenty of room for everyone and large spaces for gathering together. The home was beautifully appointed yet comfortable. We enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool and, after attending a wedding reception at another venue, we enjoyed gathering at the fire pit. Many of the family members enjoyed the game room.
4.8
We absolutely loved staying at this property. Amazing game room, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, enough space for 16 guests. Can’t wait to schedule our next trip here!
4.8
Once again, our group absolutely loved our time at this property. We’ve returned for three years in a row now and are already looking forward to next year.
The new basement area is fantastic for large groups - more beds available and lots of entertainment. The grounds were kept very nicely, everything was clean, not a single complaint.

The following items were below expectations based on the high price we paid for this property 4 days/3 nights
1. The hot water only worked for few rooms. Most of the house including kitchen never had hot water during the entire time we stayed there.
2. The posted house description indicated that this house had 9 separate bed rooms and could accommodate up to 35 people. We have 9 different adult couples expecting to stay in 9 separate bed room, but actually there were only 6 functional bed rooms. Bedroom #5 & 6 shared the same entrance, but only the one in them had a bathroom. Since there was no privacy for Bedroom #5, the couple who was assigned to had to move to children playroom on the main floor. Two couples had no other places to stay except the open space without any partition in the loft. We had to request a portable partition to protect privacy.
3. The important built-in oven (upper) in the kitchen was not functional either and the door could not be closed
4. Several ceiling lights in the basement were not working
5. There were many other minor issues, which can be fixed during the break between the scheduled rental.

This was our second year staying at the property, and it was even better than last year! The rec room provided hours of entertainment for all ages, and the revamped pool room was a nice improvement. The hosts have thought of everything, including providing some duraflames for the fire pit out back. A great place to stay!

We had a weekend away with friends. This house had plenty of room with lots of bathrooms. Great location with lots to do.
4.8
The house perfectly accommodated our 4 families with so much to do, including indoor pool, 4 Square, mega game room, fire pit, and plenty of relaxing spaces. We loved that it was also so close to Harper's Ferry and the outdoor adventure places.
4.8
Very pleasant for large groups.
The property offers a lot for large gatherings. Plenty of room to sprawl out, along with the pool and large kitchen makes it ideal for a large group. Also the close proximity to historic sites and recreation is a huge plus.
4.8
Nice nice place, kinda quirky
Very nice colonial house in a colonial town. There were several “amenities” that weren’t listed, which caused us to bring too much. Plenty of space, plenty of washer/driers. The house was remarkably quiet for having 9 children and 8 adults! Unfortunately it needs a good insect extermination (inside and out) and the yard needs manicured. Caretakers were responsive. Everyone had a great time.

This house was PERFECT for our huge family reunion with 7 families and tons of cousins, uncles and aunts, and family in-between!

We were a wedding party, and this was a great place for us to get together to have both sides of the families to get to know each other better. The house and grounds need some sprucing up, but it worked well for 18 people.
