Simple Serenity Cottage is a 3 bedroom oceanfront cottage that is available for for vacation rentals in the Spring and Fall and Monthly seasonal rentals for January, February and March.

Simple Serenity is the perfect name for this wonderful beach property. As you arrive, you will immediately feel the peaceful, nostalgic memories of a childhood beach vacation or perhaps remind you of a scene from a 'feel good' book or movie. There is nothing fancy about Simple Serenity - it is just a clean, cozy, updated cottage by the sea. The cottage sit on an oceanfront lot just 3 blocks from the the center of Surf City. This location is within easy walking distance of the fishing pier, numerous restaurants and bars, a grocery store, seafood markets, a playground, ice cream shops, coffee shops, public boat ramps, sightseeing and just about anything else you would want to do on a relaxed beach vacation.

It is a cozy updated three bedroom, two bath, cottage with large ocean front deck. There is a common courtyard area with a gas grill, hammock, picnic table and hot/cold outdoor shower. It has adequate parking for 3 cars and even enough room for a boat and trailer.

It is cute, comfortable, and clean. Has everything you need for a vacation, wonderful oceanfront deck with rocking chairs, beach chairs and boogie boards. The owners are very accommodating and quick to communicate. We are already looking forward to the next time we get to stay at "Simple Serenity.

Great little get away house for the week! Had everything needed to make the week easy going and felt like home. Dish washer was broke but was told about it upon arrival. Unfortunately it wasnt able to be fixed and owners were very apologetic about it. Also they were in contact half way through the week just checking in making sure everything was good. Will be staying again no doubt!

We came down to visit family that lived local. They are at Camp Lejune so it is a ways away but this location is close to the bridge and within walking distance to many restaurants and the pier. The beach is steps away. It had everything we needed and when I had a question the hostess was quick to answer.

Great location, close to Surf City restaurants and shops. Wonderful deck right on beach. Very comfortable living space. Great place to relax and enjoy the Topsail Island experience. Prior to and during our stay Babs was very helpful and responsive to our questions.

That's all I keep saying when my friends ask me how the beach trip went... deeeelightful! This house IS IT. Four steps off of the house length-wide porch off the back is the beach.... you cant get any better than that. Babs is the best (owner) and it was so much fun being able to walk to everything in town. 10 out of 10!!!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed this house. We were so close to shopping and local restaurants. And the large ocean front deck was fantastic for our mother to enjoy the beach without having to traverse the sand. Babs was very attentive and kept in touch with us the whole trip, from booking to checkout. And Paige was a doll!! We would love to stay here again!

We’ve booked many VRBO homes but this was the best experience ever. Easy entry. Great communication with the owner. Words cannot describe the beautiful sunrise over the ocean every morning, viewed from your own private deck. The house is comfortable and convenient walking distance to the Surf City Pier, great eateries (Mac Daddy’s Grille and New York Corner Deli), the local park and pedestrian bridge over the sound, and of coarse literally a handful of steps to gorgeous Surf City Beach where you can watch surfers, parasailing , kite flyers, dolphins, birds or look for smooth rocks and shells. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room couches are comfortable, the TV has plenty of popular channels and streaming service and we got good sleep. Our dog had a ball watching all the beach action from the deck. They have a gate in the laundry closet you can use to limit access to the beach from the deck. They had a full tank of propane ready to go for the grill which was nice since we had to change it out. We were spoiled by Simple Serenity and highly recommend renting. We hope to do so again someday. Thanks Wagners!

This is a well-named cottage. With its oceanfront location and convenience to downtown Surf City, we had a very delightful stay. It is nicely furnished with a very well-equipped kitchen. The host/owner was very easy to work with and did everything she could to make our stay pleasant.

This cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Just the 2 of us with family that comes for a visit. 2 bedrooms are on the beach side. The in unit washer/dryer are so nice to have. Super large deck with plenty of seating. Everything you need to use in the kitchen is there. So close to town! Walk to restaurants, stores, & coffee shops. The pier is maybe 3 blocks away. The beach is super!So many items provided for the beach. Toys, chairs, boards, etc. Outdoor water to wash off the sand before going inside. We loved it!

We loved Simple Serenity! The view, the beach, the location and the peacefulness we felt during our stay are indescribable. Babs and Mike were wonderful hosts and always immediately responsive to any questions we had about the property, the town of Surf City or Topsail Island. The location of the cottage was excellent. We could walk to shops, restaurants, coffee houses, & the park . It was very clean, and a big concern was …the bed slept well. It was equipped for every thing we needed to enjoy the inside & outside as well. The extended front deck is so close to the waves, you could sit there & enjoy the whole day. We loved viewing the dolphins in the mornings & afternoon-so glad we took the binoculars . Enjoyed the owner, Babs, stopping in for a visit & making sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend Simple Serenity for a truly relaxing vacation!

We just rented this property for two weeks. We'll definitely stay here again. The location is wonderful and the large deck is absolutely amazing. This property has two additional two-bedroom units street-side that would make it the perfect place for a large family to stay with ample room for everyone to enjoy the amazing deck overlooking the ocean. All 3 units are pet friendly. The location couldn't be better, it's very walkable to many restaurants. We also rented e-bikes locally and rode the entire island.

My husband and I came for 4 nights to celebrate his 68th Birthday. It's not our first trip to Topsail but it was our first time staying at this adorable cottage. From the time we opened door and saw the ocean shimmering in front of us we knew we picked the right house. Sure there are big McMansions along the beach we could have rented, but there is nothing like staying in one of the few cottages left along the beach. My husband said this is a house that books are written about. Babs was wonderful and even had her husband drop off an extra tank of gas because I mentioned that my husband loves to grill. The house was spotless and had everything you could need in the kitchen. We're already looking at the calendar to see when we can go back!

Process was easy, Owner was great, Location was perfect for our two week stay at Simple Serenity. Loved being right on the beach so close to the water. We spent many hours on the deck enjoying Sun Rises & Sunsets, watching the surfers and the sounds of the ocean. We will definitely be back!

We had an AMAZING time at this property. It is literally 3 steps from the beach, you could not get any closer. Clean property, excellent communication with the property manager. I’d give this 6 stars if I could. Hope to return soon!!
