Very friendly staff, efficient and pleasant throughout, even when we arrived and pub was v busy. Great sized room with bath and seperate shower.
Nothing, but note this is a pub so expect noise until closing time in room above bar!

Really good location. Excellent breakfast ! Lovely children's play area
WiFi was intermittent in the room. Beds were not very comfortable.

Quite cool upstairs, poky bathroom

Good location for me as not far from cycle route plus nice walks near pub. Restaurant food was excellent and good value.
4.7
Everything was excellent and definitely exceeded our expectations. The room, restaurant and bar, food, wine and public areas. In particular, the staff were all friendly, helpful and exhibited an attitude of care. However, Ali was exceptional in many ways; a bright and breezy personality, knowledgeable and went out of her way to help and deal with everything. A true sweetheart.
Cannot think of anything.

Breakfast was copious and very tasty. Staff were very friendly and attentive, particularly Angela

The location and access from the ferry was good. The staff were helpful and attentive. The breakfast menu was good, and the food cooked and presented in an excellent way. The breakfast staff were particularly attentive and helpful. The accommodation was mostly good and to an expected level.
Access to the bedrooms was via a very narrow and unusually steep staircase which, to us late 70-year-olds, was difficult, particularly when dealing with luggage. The room was spacious and had all the expected facilities. However, some things were a little annoying and some small alteration could improve matters. There is a complete absence of handrails in the shower which made its use apprehensive to us oldies. The bath, which is exceptionally large, was a no-go for a similar reason. The pop-up waste in both hand basins did not operate properly. There was no seat, other than the toilet, in the bathroom. The TV was fitted on a fixed bracket high on the wall so that the only place it could be watched was from the bed and was practically unviewable from the provided settee.
The restaurant, which we used every evening, has a menu which is extensive. It is our view that quantity, both in the number of items available and portion size has lessened quality. I enjoyed several dishes, particularly the local sourced mussels, and the Sunday carvery was enjoyable. But I would not retry the pie which suffered from the classic soggy-bottom and a hard-baked unbreakable topping. I am still trying to verify what the bright green nettle-leaf shaped vegetable, that I was told was Kale, really was. The addition of some plain boiled potatoes instead of the packet mash would be an improvement.

Ideally situated for getting around the island ! Clean comfortable, good food and wonderful staff
Being asked if we wanted our room cleaned ! Its what you expect , to have your bed made , clean towels and your coffee and tea facilities replenished .

The room was very spacious and had a lovely view. The evening meal was very good even if the preferred choice for my partner, who has a gluten intolerance, due to a new chef adding flour.

This is a popular pub with rooms above and good dining options in the restaurant.
Rooms are spacious and clean.
Breakfast was excellent and all staff friendly and professional.
There are excellent facilities for children with a large outside play area for all ages and a smaller indoor area with games.
Nothing to mention

The Chequers Inn is in a very good location, 20/30 minutes from all the corners of the island one would like to visit.
Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Portions were abundant.
Our room was very spacious as was the bathroom. This was a lovely surprise.
Beds also were very comfy.
For the price paid, the bathroom was not very clean. There were some hair in the shower and after the first night, the bathroom was cleaned very roughly, as the hair found the day of our arrival were still there. Also, the bath (where I had a bath) had clearly not been cleaned.

Friendly, clean and comfortable.
Room & shower room were really quite small but they were very comfortable and they worked. I was working in Newport and The Cheqeurs is some way out so the cab was not cheap.

The Chequers is at the heart of the Island so everything or place is within a 20 minute drive. The bedroom was of a great size and very warm throughout our time there.

Everything! The location, rooms, dinner in the restaurant, breakfast and the staff were exceptional. We took one of the recommended walks and thoroughly enjoyed it. This was an excellent place to stay on the Island.

Exceptional property. Bedroom suite superb and excellent value for money. Very well located, excellent parking, and very warm welcome.

Friendly stuff, clean and nice room. Bed was very good size and room was big
Mattress or bed needs to be changed. It looks like heavy person was sleeping in the middle of the bed. Middle of the bed is lower than sides.
Bathroom windows needs cleaning (mould or dirt on the frame).
Breakfast was ok,but i prefer full English breakfast but not to choose between baked beans and hash brown.
All night something was banging cos of strong wind (might be handle or some metal thing)
