Great family vacation

We had a great stay in Oxford, Maine. It’s exactly as advertised! We enjoyed the quiet lake and all of the water toys provided. Thanks for a great vacation.

Exceeded our expectations. The home is immaculate. The location is great. Very quiet! Communication with owner was great. Best experience we have had with a rental home yet!

Our host Tom was wonderful! and the house had everything we could need. The kids had a great time in the water and the boats. The game room was a big hit with the kids as well; especially the 1 day it rained. Close and convenient to the places we wanted to go. Great sunsets too!
Thank you, the Estes

Place was perfect. Well stocked kitchen and cleaning supplies. Lots of board games for indoor fun. Would recommend and would stay again

We had a great week, the house was well stocked with everything we’d need for a fun time inside and out. We particularly appreciated all the water toys — floats, canoe, different kayaks, and a great paddleboard — and used some to explore the rivers at the end of Hogan Pond. The fire pit was a wonderful surprise. Lovely sunsets!

The camp was so comfortable and it had plenty of dishes, linens and paper products. Comfortable beds, too. We didn’t lack anything. Also, had several kayaks and one paddle board to keep the teenagers happy. The owner was very nice as well as accommodating. Even though there was a campground next door, it was very private and quiet.

The property was clean and beautiful! Plenty of space for our group of 8. Quiet area and plenty of water equipment (kayaks, paddle board, canoe). The dock made it easy to have our jet ski there and to fish all the time. Very friendly and helpful owner that responded quickly.
We would definitely book this rental again!

We had a great week at the lake, house had everything you would need and the game room was a great bonus. Owners Tom and Nancy were great to rent from, very responsive and property was very clean and well taken care of. Only wish we could of stayed longer!

First, I have to say that Tom and his wife work really hard to make sure that you enjoy your stay. They provide everything you need. Linens, bath towels, beach towels, and they even have spices and sharp knives . Second, Tom has spent a lot of time and effort working on this home making it the best it can be. He clearly takes a lot of pride in this property and it shows.
The lake is pretty awesome too. The water is crystal clear. The lake is not crowded by any means. This property is pretty secluded. They have a very large fire pit, and even provide fire wood. They have corn hole, billiards, a large collection of board games, even video games in the game room.
They provide two refrigerators, crock pots, griddles, basically anything you could want to use in the kitchen. If you’re thinking about staying somewhere in Maine, we could not recommend this place enough. You will not be disappointed.

Great place, great owners, we will be back on our next trip to Maine!
You will not find the amenities and hospitality anywhere else for this price! Our group of 10 had fun on our Kayak/Canoe adventure, swimming, paddle boarding, fishing.... I could go on. And the kids LOVED spending their evenings in the game room. Thank you Tom and Nancy for sharing this beautiful place with us!

We wanted to stay longer to enjoy all that's available right at the house, garage, and beach! My family loved swimming out to the dock, floating in tubes, playing in the shallow water, and using the canoe, kayaks, and paddle board. The outdoor shower was awesome! The garage game rooms were a big hit with the pool table, darts, and foosball. We also enjoyed sitting around the firepit at night. The house is nice with comfortable furniture, a well stocked kitchen, and lots of puzzles and board games. The unexpected treat was harvesting green beans and tomatoes in the garden for our dinners. Tom was friendly and responsive to our requests, even buying a coffee bean grinder before we arrived! A few things to note: both bathrooms are on the 1st floor (upstairs guests were careful on the stairs at night) the kitchen doesn't have a dishwasher (we all pitched in with the washing and drying), the tap water isn't potable (Tom provides drinking water), and the house had a mustiness in the high heat and humidity during our stay (Tom gave us fans for the bedrooms which helped). We thought this was worth mentioning but none of it would keep us from returning. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, loved all that there was to do, and appreciated Tom's availability and helpfulness.

My family really, really enjoyed our stay at Tom's house. I've rented many lake houses in Maine, many twice as expensive as this one, and this house had leagues more amenities than any of them. There were enough kayaks (canoe, peddle boat, paddle boards) for all of us, a ton of floats that were already blown up, endless firewood for the fire pit (most places make you buy your own), horseshoes, sooo many board games, and most importantly: a two floor game room in the garage with pool, darts, bumper pool, a poker table, and places to lounge (and an extra fridge). This area allowed us to still have tons of fun on the rainy days and also to keep the noise contained at night while others were trying to sleep in the house.
The kitchen has every pot, pan, and utensil you'd ever need, and there was tons of extra bedding. It was also so nice having a little kids area with some books and toys in the upstairs area between the two bedrooms. The kids spent tons of time up there and we were all happy they had a contained area so that we weren't tripping over their toys.
The bedrooms were comfortable and clean, and the upstairs bedroom with 4 beds is actually way more spacious and cheerful than it looks in pictures and my normally picky family members all slept in the room really happily. Their only complaint was that there aren't enough places to put their clothing & other stuff. They would've liked some small dressers or shelves.
The water in the pond is clear, there's a small sandy beach by the dock, the water is rather shallow so felt relatively safe for the young kids, and kayaking around the pond and rivers was really easy and lovely.
There's plenty of parking, an amazing hammock to relax on, and relative privacy. There's a neighbor's house on one side (pretty far removed) and a campground on the other but you can barely hear any noise or see anyone through the trees, and when you're on the beach there's tons of privacy. This is in stark contrast to Sebago and Long Lake where everyone is on top of each other.
We also loved the garden, the comfy couch, the clean & well maintained grill, and the fact that it's a 3 minute drive to Oxbow Brewery where the food and drinks are delicious and there's a sprawling outdoor area that is wonderful to hang out in.
The outdoor shower is AMAZING!
We're so grateful to Tom for sharing this wonderful respite from the city and we made tons of memories! Highly recommend this place to anyone!

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Tom’s house was more
spacious than it appears in photos and was FULLY stocked with everything we needed (cleaning supplies, firewood, tableware, linens, games, books, etc.). We spent every day outside swimming or paddling in the pond and exploring the area. A couple of us even took a short 20-30 min drive to mountain bike, though with the detached game room and tons of canoes/paddle board/kayaks, we certainly had plenty of things to entertain ourselves at the house.
Tom was very responsive and gave us a great tour upon arrival. He even checked in mid way through via text to make sure all was well.
I will absolutely come back with friends and family in the years to come. Looking forward to making more memories on Hogan Pond!

Great family getaway!
We had a great time with our 3 yr old grandson swimming, fishing, and kayaking! There even was a small kayak for our grandson. Our daughter and son and fiance also visited. We stayed at the cabin and there was plenty for everyone to do. We would recommend this for any family needing to get away to reconnect.

Annual family vacation the year of COVID
I did a lot of research to find a property that could accommodate our entire family which included a 3 and 1 year old. Due to COVID we wanted to be able to isolate as a family and have fun at the same time. We loved our stay. The property was probably the nicest we have ever stayed at and we rent like this yearly. The owners were so kind. There was enough to do on sight and we were able to take some scenic rides. The home was so clean and inviting. There was even a garden in which they shared their delicious vegetables. Loved the outdoor shower. Thank you. The Smith family

feels like home
Tom,
Again thank you for the use of your home. My family and I had a fantastic time and will remember it in the years to come as being one of the best vacations ever.
For those looking to stay here you will not be disappointed. As others have stated you lack for nothing, The house has everything you could ask for to make it feel like home. From linens, towels, pots pans and pretty much every kitchen utensil you will need to cook what ever. To directions on how to play darts in the game room.(not much time spent there we had great weather)
The lot is positioned in a way that gives you privacy. Front and back lawns giving perfect amount of space.(I will miss the sunsets from the swinging hammock) The lake is quiet, with plenty of room for water skiing as well as kayaking up the small rivers at the end of the lake.
Tom is more then hospitable. And when it come to info on the surrounding area. Where to shop, eat and sites to see. Hooked us up with a seafood truck that we took full advantage of. As well as teaching me that you put liquid soap on the outside of your lobster pot when cooking on a open fire to prevent it from getting black thanks Tom lol
I'm sure my review is redundant compared to others but i guess that's a good thing we all cant be wrong lol So in closing if you are on the fence about staying here don,t be you enjoy every moment.
Thank you again Tom best to you and yours
John (New Jersey)

Excellent Property with Wonderful Owners!
I wish I could give this property 10 stars because of the time and care Tom and Nancy put into making our stay comfortable. We found their home in wonderful condition, clean, and supplied with anything we needed during our stay! My family will never forget the relaxing week we spent on Hogan Pond! We were able to swim and kayak daily, as well as enjoy amores by the campfire and watch the glorious sunsets together! The outdoor shower was so awesome for my large family-and helps keep the indoor bathrooms clean-super idea!! And thanks for letting us pick from your beautiful garden Tom and Nancy! I was able to make a salad with beet root greens everyday! I wish you both good health and happiness always!

Great Vacation!
Beautiful property and house. The place looks even better in person, very clean and well maintained. We met Tom and Nancy upon arrival, they showed us around and gave us plenty of helpful information for our stay. Fishing was great, even cooked one of our catches up for dinner. Kitchen has everything you could need, nice new grill on the deck and everyone loved the outdoor shower and of course the game room. Lake is clean and quiet. We enjoyed the kayaks, pedal boat, canoe and floats. Spent most of our time just hanging out playing corn hole, swimming, sitting around the campfire, cooking s’mores, watching a movie and playing board games.
Highly recommend and will definitely consider this place for a future visit.

Tom and Nancy are wonderful hosts. This house is super clean and all pictures are accurate. We have rented several houses in the past and i must say that this is the most well-stocked home we have ever stayed at. You will want or need for nothing! These owners have thought of everything that you would need to enjoy your vacation and make wonderful memories. The owners are very helpful and attentive to every need. Excellent location, well equipped and clean
Had a great week at the house. Plenty of room for everyone. Deck was spacious, kitchen had everything you would need! Enjoyed all games and the game rooms in the garage. The canoe and kayaks were a big hit. We brought our own boat and Tom was extremely helpful in arranging the launch. The campground was right next door but it was surprisingly quiet. The fishing was great all week, caught several over two pounds. There was almost no boat traffic except ours all week which made it easy to teach the kids to water ski. They also went tubing every day, we practically had the lake to ourselves! Would definitely recommend staying here!

Amazing place!
Just got back from a week's stay in Oxford, ME. Tom and Nancy's place is amazing! It's right on the water and features just about every amenity you can think of (as well as some you might not be aware you wanted)! Our 2 families (3 adults and 3 teens) had plenty of space. We enjoyed the outdoor deck, fire pit, dock and pond. It was nice to have breakfast outside on the deck and then head down to the dock to relax. Plenty of water craft for everyone to get out on the pond to enjoy. The kids really liked the game room and had their own space to hang out at night.
Tom and Nancy have truly thought of everything. They greeted us upon arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back.

Absolutely Awesome!
We stayed at the house, with another family, from 8/19/17 - 8/26/17 and couldn't have been happier! There were 10 of us staying there, and we had plenty of room and wanted for nothing. The kitchen had every appliance or utensil we ever needed, and there were plenty of towels and linens for our large group, as well as comfy beds and spacious bedrooms. The kids would often be found having a blast in the game room, and, when we could drag them out, we had several awesome family wiffle ball games! We fished from kayaks early in the morning or in the evening often catching 1 - 2 lb. large mouth bass! We swam almost daily, enjoyed the fresh veggies from the garden at supper time, and spent most nights making s'mores out at the campfire. We rented a pontoon boat and tube over on Thompson Lake 1 day, and raced down the Attitash alpine slides in NH another! Even though we were quite busy, it was also quite relaxing and comfortable being there. The Hosts Tom & Nancy are very welcoming, and accommodating, just plain awesome! We would stay here again without hesitation.

Relaxation at it's best!
The moment we stepped inside, we were home! Tom and Nancy had thought of everything and were there to greet us and give us the tour. After we unpacked and settled in our first night, we grabbed our wine and a couple comfy chairs, and headed out to the end of the dock to watch the amazing sunset and listen to the loons. Our kids and grandkids arrived the next day and fell in love with the place instantly! The small sandy beach was perfect for our 6 year old and 18 month old grand kids, our son caught a couple of bass near the dock, we kayaked and canoed around the quiet pond, had as some tough competitions in the game rooms, enjoyed s'mores at the cozy campfire, and ate all our meals on the huge deck that overlooks the beautiful pond! The lake house was clean, cozy and well stocked. Plenty of room for the eight of us to spread out and have some quiet time, or hang out all together. I spent a little time working in the beautiful little vegetable garden next to the deck (a very nice touch by Tom & Nancy!). There were plenty of chairs around the property, so no need to bring any. We had brought our own kayaks, life jackets, floats and fishing poles, but didn't need to. Tom & Nancy had it all! For those who like little adventures, there is a little river (Little Androscoggin River) that connects Hogan Pond to Whitney pond, that also branches off in a few directions, for a very scenic paddle with many twists and turns. We saw 7 turtles on a fallen log, and possible bear and deer tracks on the muddy shores. We definitely recommend paddling up in here! Overall, it was a very relaxing, quiet week with plenty to do right there at the lake house! Many photos taken and precious family time enjoyed! Thank you again Tom & Nancy for doing so much to make it so special!
