"The castle was beautiful, and the hospitality was amazing. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left, we felt that all our needs were addressed, and the room was stunning. We enjoyed our stay so much and would love to come back again in the future!"
It may not be suitable for families with small children or anyone who dislikes clutter, though it's not a top priority for us.

We absolutely loved our stay at the castle! The staff was so gratuitous and kind, the breakfast was excellent, and the place was absolutely breathtaking!

We were well received by Joris and we loved our room and breakfast.

Everything was exceptional. The castle experience was the highlight of our 5 week vacation. We highly recommend the castle experience.
There is not one negative thing we could say. Other than we wish we could have stayed longer lol

Loved the character of the castle and all the old furnishings! Breakfast was great! It was very lush and green outside with a swan in the canal. The host was nice enough to give us a ride to the bus station in the morning and was very attentive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend staying here!

It exceeded our expectations
That we only booked one night

a lovely property, not over restored with a “shabby chique” vibe
nothing we did not not like

Super nice stay - beautiful Castle with a lot of history. Great breakfast!
Treated to a tour of the Castle and our host was very welcoming.

Breakfast was good. Host was very friendly. Beds comfortable. Location nice.
Entrance to property. Had to call to open gate when arriving. And property locks up at midnight and there was no main key to be able to get back in.

The castle was wonderful, it definitely exceeded our expectations! The area is beautiful, in the middle of nature, with plenty of walking and biking trails nearby (by car). The host was very friendly and helpful, he shared the story of the castle, ideas on what to explore, where to eat.
The room we stayed in was very beautiful and comfortable, made us feel like royalty. We also enjoyed a nice evening in the common area, with a fireplace, books and boardgames.
In the morning - the breakfast was delicious, with local products - and the breakfast room was just as lovely and atmospheric as the rest of the castle.

Excellent attendance of staff and very cozy

An amazing stay in a beautiful castle. The host was very welcoming and knowledgeable. He gave us a great tour of the castle and suggested places to visit in the local area. His friendly welcome really made us feel at home.
Amazing grounds and amazing breakfast.
Bathrooms are a little old but that is to be expected in such a historic building. Everyone worked and was clean, had a lovely bath in our room - but not the most modern facilities.

Amazing location. Such friendly staff and the owners who went above to tell us what to visit in the area ( thank you excellent recommendations we had a super day ). The castle is mind boggling, you feel as if you are living in a stately home that the owners have just moved out of. Super quiet, A huge room and we saw some of the others which were amazing too. The view from the tower is stunning. Plenty of clean fluffy towels, hot water, bed linen crisp and clean with comfy mattress. We had an issue which was sorted very quickly. Lovely grounds to walk round, chickens, guinea fowl, cows, a moat, a rowing boat to use on the lake.
We would certainly go back. Wish I was capable to add photos to show you.
We like a bath and this bathroom only had a shower. The bathroom was a little dated which I suppose you could say matched the decor of the house as after all it is old. Whilst the breakfast was good and the host ensured that you had enough and you didn't feel that it was offered begrudgingly, due to Covid portions were brought to your table, home made yoghurt, home made apple juice, boiled eggs from the chickens, croissant, jam, bread, marmalade which suited me but for the purpose of the review there was no hot option or cereals.
My only real complaint that the castle could do something about was a charge for bottle of water, it was out on the side so we assumed complimentary, it was only later we realised there was a charge of 4.50 which for the price of the room seemed a bit excessive.

This castle is in an exquisite area. With lovely grounds and walking paths nearby, plus several small towns in biking distance. Joris, who served a locally sourced breakfast daily, was super friendly and helpful with activity recommendations. The castle itself is a little dusty and overcrowded with ancient items, but made for a most interesting stay!
A nice perk would have been bicycles we could have borrowed from the property directly. Another nice-to-have would be a gate clicker to enter the property. We felt quite bad if we stayed at dinner late and had to call the property manager to let us out/in at odd hours.

Beautiful castle with beautiful rooms, staff was very friendly and it’s super calm and quiet. You can climb the tower, look out over the whole area and see Utrecht’s Dom from there. Breakfast was great, overall a wonderful experience.
The photo’s really undersell the place, it’s much better in real life.

An unusual stay. Excellent grounds for sitting, strolling, seeing rare wildlife. Generous breakfast.
Unfortunately the room was noisy, particularly from neighbouring guests given the bare wooden floors between floors. Note the staircase is difficult. Tea and coffee is in shared areas rather than in the room. It's not too far to travel for food/shops but it is beyond a walk. We had a bath only, no shower. Overall a nice stay, but not the most restful as part of our cycling tour holiday.

Great stay in the castle. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Joris showed us around and told us lots about the history of the castle. Definitely return one day.

The location is special. We slept in the castle. The room was spacious and authentic, yet comfortable. The breakfast was really nice with fresh products from surrounding farms. The bonus was that we were allowed to see the castle after breakfast, and to climb the tower.
Warm water ran out at the end of the evening.
