Away from the City and relax in the countryside. Service and food is excellent

The location is very quiet and green . The staff are wonderful with excellent service and the chef prepares great food , they prepared amazing vegetarian options .

A Cosy Oasis

A home away from home with well-sized rooms and comfy beds. The whole property is beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches. The garden is a lovely and relaxing oasis of flowers and plants, and the on-site Lebanese restaurant was delicious! We also loved the little shop that sells items made by local artists and artisans. Our only regret is that we didn’t have a longer stay!

Uncomfortable experience. Hoping it was a one off.

The grounds are lovely and rustic. There’s beautiful art all over the place, and the garden is beautiful.

The service wasn’t great. I was always waiting and waiting for assistance or information. Everyone seemed to be doing their own thing. On top of that I did interact with staff the main question asked by them is when I’d be checking out (I was also asked this as soon as I arrived), and it makes one feel unwelcome and rushed. When I finally got some dinner service, I was asked how I would be paying even before I had a bite to eat and the waitress only eased up when she found out (maybe from another staff member) that I was a guest of the hotel. I don’t want to read too much into it but it was not a pleasant or relaxing experience. Oh and I ended up late to check out anyway after waiting for breakfast service (again nobody came to take my order even after seeing me walk in). Food was good though.

Superb

The Hob House is an extremely charming B&B. The atmosphere fells as if you were at a beautiful home. There is a lounge, with comfy sofa to watch TV, and books all around. It was very sweet to find complimentary oranges and milk in the room. My room had a varanda where I could sit and relax, looking at the garden. It is shared with the neighbours, so be aware. The garden is a must! A large green space, where you can be served breakfast with birds around. It is just fantastic! The B&B has also a restaurant which is open to the public, where they serve delicious Middle Eastern food.

The only downside of the B&B is if the restaurant downstairs have talkative guests, you'll be able to hear the chat in your room. So if you are a super early sleeper, that can be a bit of an issue. But the restaurant is very small and local. So it won't go too late. So it won't be a problem to your sleep overnight at all. Be aware the B&B is is a calm area on the kind of outskirts of Nairobi. So it is not that you'll leave the b&B walking to see around. You'll need a taxi to go down to town.

This guest house oozes with character. The staff went out of their way to help, the food was absolutely delicious and it was home away from home

I was unable to get a queen/king bed for my husband and I but I booked rather late and appreciate that was not Hobb House's fault!

Great stay. We’ll definitely choose the Hob House for a return visit.

Rare boutique style guest house in Nairobi on quiet street and neighbourhood. Excellent breakfast if we exclude the final day of our stay. Maybe the cook was off as it wasn’t up to par with the other days. Very good Lebanese restaurant on site. Lovely staff.

Ground floor room not quite as quiet and cosy as others. Check when booking. The staff aim to please and do their best to accommodate.

A gem of a place to stay in in Nairobi - highly recommend it

Everything was great - beautiful garden full of flowers and birds, friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous room with balcony and lovely food.

Hob House is phenomenal. I don't normally bother with ratings, but this place is a dream in every sense. It's magical and beautiful. The food and service are extraordinary. I can't wait to go back! I didn't even want to leave.

Hob House was the perfect start of our trip through Kenya as we got to relax to the fullest!

The setting and the atmosphere at the Hob House is just great! It's a green oasis where you feel most welcome from the minute you arrive and the food is delicious.

Such a gem!

The staff was absolutely delightful. They went out of their way to make me comfortable from start to finish. Out of literally hundreds of places I’ve stayed this staff was top 5 ever.

The place gets a bit noisy in the daytime due to the restaurant customers directly underneath the rooms

Perfect for staycation. Great food, delightful gardens, warm hospitality & lots of artistic detail

Hob House is a gem. There are lots of beautiful details to capture your imagination from the art & décor, to the serene garden, down to the pillowcases. The staff were attentive and anticipated my needs (Special thanks to Rose & Naomi). The owner Kelly was friendly and genuinely cares for her guests' comfort. Perfect for solo female travellers.

No complaints from me. I'll definitely be back.
