About this house rental

Crow's nest located at milepost 8.5 is fresh open space 4 bedroom, 2 bath, home close to the beach and Wright Brothers Memorial.
This is a NO PET home....Sorry
This home has a well equipped kitchen, microwave, fridge
w/ icemaker, blender, coffeemaker, dishwasher and more. High speed internet. Each room has a TV. Smart TV's or blue ray to do Netflix or other streaming. Family room with pool table . Small reading room for a bit of alone time.
Large open kitchen with bar to seat 6 and dining table to seat 5. Charcoal grill during summer months.
Within walking distance to the beach and many fine restaurants.
Payment options through VRBO.

During prime weeks of June July and August we lease from Sat to Sat. Check in is 4 pm check out is 10am.
I do have a rental agreement but could not get it down loaded. Once you book I will email it to you. or can send it for your review before booking

We had a great stay at this house. The living space was great. The owner was great also. If I had to pick one thing that was not as good, it would be the mattresses on the beds. They were very very firm. If you like that great, but it affected my wife and I greatly with headaches and back pain. Other than that, nothing to report.

It’s a nice little place to stay that is very conveniently located. It’s a little further from the beach than I originally thought, but still a very short little walk. It’s walking distance from multiple shops and restaurants. My younger two enjoyed shorting pool with me in the game room on the one rainy day we had. Overall- it was a nice place and a nice location.

Cheryl was of great assistance to us when we needed to know before hand what to bring with us and where we could shop for necessities. The house was very nice and cozy! Lots of pretty wall decor with positive sayings and some with Bible verses. It was fun staying in on stormy days to play pool downstairs and there are plenty of books to read during down time. The kids of course were happy for Netflix lol. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms and kitchen very clean, and the walk over to the beach was convenient! We were very happy with our stay and recommend this rental for anyone vacationing in this area!

The home was spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed our short walk to the beach. My family loved the pool table. We had a great week! Great communication with the host family. We are thankful and appreciative.

The home suffered water damage in the basement at some point and this portion of the basement/garage was locked and inaccessible. Although the additional room was not needed, the musty odor permeated throughout the entire home. Upon returning from vacation, all of our clothes, much of which were never worn, had to be laundered because of the odor from the home. There needs to be a dehumidifier put in the basement and run continuously. Someone with respiratory issue could not have stayed in this house in its current condition. Also, no public beach access within stated walking distance. Fortunately we arranged beach access through a nearby hotel. Picture on website are not current. These should be updated as well. Not sure when the owner was last at this property but they really need to visit it. Furthermore after driving 9 plus hours to our destination and not being able to get in on time because it was still being cleaned. Which we patiently waited for her to get done. Then to walk into the stench of the home and wish that we had an alternative place to stay, so we could call the owners and ask for a refund.

This house has an off the charts musty/mildew smell that permeated all that we brought and bought. The 4th bedroom is unusable. The smell is so strong it is almost petroleum like in smell. There is nothing the owner could have done to correct this issue other than to remove the walls in the lowest level and allow for the building to remain open on stilts as the other houses around it are. The owner knows about it too, empty plug ins and damp rids. There are NC state laws that prohibit rentals that interfere with health, habitability and safety. I came home with such respiratory issues I thought I had Covid and tested several times there and here. The issues cleared up by the end of the drive home. Regarding the other issues we had, they are too numerous to mention here. Buyer beware of the threatening contracts, the rules posted, the non refundable fee.

We really enjoyed our stay. The size of the house made it really nice for my family of Myself, wife, 3 kids, daughter-in-law and a baby. Everyone got there own private space and the common areas were plenty big enough to accommodate all of us. With it being just a short walk to the beach we’d definitely stay there again.

The renting and check in process were very easy. The beach access was close ,everything you need is all right there. Chairs beach toys all available for use. Loved the neighborhood, totally worth what we paid. Will rent again in the future

The house is roomy and you are not on top of each other. It worked perfectly for our family. However, beach access further than we thought from description. TV access is confusing if not tech savvy. Grass not mowed. Found clothes left behind by other renters.

We (me, my family and our friends) has a total blast at the Crow’S Nest VRBO. The property is very conveniently located and is clean. It is very near to the beach but at the same time is not noisy and we get privacy. The interiors are spacious and have lot of amenities to be used by guests of all ages. The outside shower was very helpful to get sand off the body before entering house (or for showering as well). Would recommend it to others for sure!

We really enjoyed our week at the Crows Nest and were thankful for a short walk to the beach. Our kids loved the pool table and sharpened their skills with many tournaments. :). This was our first family beach vacation in a long time, and we cherished our time soaking up the sun and playing in the water.

My family and I (8 adults total) stayed for a week and loved it! We enjoyed staying at Crows Nest and definitely would stay again! It felt like our home away from home. The only thing that we disliked was that the grass was high and needed mowed. It got mowed the day before we left.

This is our second year staying at the Crow's Nest. The house is in great shape and within walking distance to the beach. Overall, this location is very accommodating and resides in the center of the beach culture, shops, restaurants, and much more. I would definitely love to stay here again next year. We had a great time here at the Crow's Nest. Cheryl was wonderful to work with getting everything sorted out while booking and made herself available if we had any issues while we were there. Fortunately, there were none. Great location, plenty of parking and the amenities were perfect for a family beach week. Place works great for an older group, or even families with small kids. Would definitely be willing to stay here again in the future!

My husband and I just returned from a fantastic week at Crows Nest with our 1-year-old daughter who loved her first trip to the beach. We could not have asked for a more child-friendly home - there was a high chair, a tub, children's books, a door at the top of the stairs, and lots of open space for her to crawl around and play. This made our life so much easier on the rainy days! The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook several nights. The Oregon Avenue public beach access is an easy walk from the home as is Duck Donuts! We found that the beach was wider with more tidal pools up at the Hayman Blvd public access which was an easy drive up the road. South Memorial Boulevard is a quiet street with friendly neighbors. We would definitely come back! Thanks to Gary and Cheryl for making the whole process very easy and for having such a lovely vacation home.

Our family loves staying here. Cheryl is always easy to deal with and very responsive. Close to beach for us to walk all ages from 5-60!! Kids love the pool table at night! And the big dining table allows everyone room for game nights! Perfect stay every year!

Everything was very nice and clean at the house, and it was one block back from the ocean, where our friends had a massive house for their wedding, so we were really only using this house for a base camp, and it worked well. Everything was nice, and as advertised. The only complaint we had was there was a musty smell that seemed to soak into everything, overall a minor complaint and we enjoyed our stay.
