Lovely walks and peaceful area.
The pub/restaurant was really good nice food and good selection they even helped us accommodate for a special birthday.
The ladies at the spa were really helpful too
The accommodation we booked is not what we were given . Lusty beg blames booking.com and booking.com blames them. (We wanted 2 double beds bit the rooms were actually a doubke and a twin)
The 'ensuite' was unusable as we couldn't actually get in the shower due to hiw it was set out and lack of space (none of us are overweight or particular large, I had no chance at 7 months pregnant)
The hot water ran out very quickly due to a small tank which made showering difficult. And overall the accommodation was a bit run down particularly the kitchen area
The reception staff were not helpful or accommodating . The other staff were much better but very slow service at the bar during the daytime.
The spa had a nice pool but it was a bit cold and no sauna/steam room

Breakfast was delicious and a lovely combination of cooked breakfast and buffet. The dining hall has beautiful views of the lake which is a lovely start to the day.
The double bed was a little on the small side but that's the only thing and everything else was just perfect.

Our chalet was very comfortable, we slept really well, really soft bedding. The setting is beautiful and peaceful overlooking the lake. Plenty of hot water. Fairy trail was lovely, the native forest is beautiful. Food for dinner in bar/estaurant was good pub type food. Take away tea/coffee was available. Swimming pool was nice, Massage in. Spa was brilliant. we saw a wedding here and it's such a stunning location for one, in the right weather.
Changing area in swimming pool is very small and gets quite wet as showers are too close.

The scenery
Some of the dining chairs may need replacing. I pulled my seat forward and the seat separated from the structure a little, enough to trap my finger which bruised my nail.

Food was excellent. We even indulged in a second strawberry cheesecake it was that good.
Decking and room has so much potential and would have been lovely 5 years ago. The decking needs a thorough deep clean. The room is also showing signs of wear and tear. Paint off walls behind stove, hole in bed headboard and a layer of dust on top. Mould in the shower tiles grouting. Living area lamp broken and a chunk out of the table it sat on. Overall vibe of the island has changed.. It’s like a party island nowadays..

Just love the location..so peaceful and relaxing.. as long as we are in a log cabin. Beautiful place

Fabulous location. Chalet overlooking the lough. Very quiet and peaceful. Great for dog owners, lovely to see dogs enjoying their surroundings and being allowed in the restaurant etc.
Had a terrible experience at the spa. I had booked a 75 minute massage and arrived early for my appointment. was given a robe and flip flops and asked to change in the ladies pool changing room which was crowded, wet and had no privacy. I changed in the cramped toilet it would have been nicer had I been allowed to change in the treatment room. The therapist then took me upstairs to the therapy room and told me to lie face down on the bed and she’d back with me shortly. I lay there for 20-25 minutes waiting on her to return but she didn’t. I was really unhappy and not feeling relaxed at all, so I put my robe back on and made my way back downstairs to the reception where my therapist and another one were chatting. I looked at the clock behind them and it read 10.20 so I knew for a fact I had been left unattended for 20-25 minutes. I said that I had changed my mind as I thought being left for 20 minutes was not right. My therapist said that she was just on her way to me. I re-iterated that being left for 20 minutes was not acceptable. She argued with me that it wasn’t 20 minutes. But the clock behind them clearly showed it was. I did not get an apology.
I returned later to collect my daughter from the pool and the second therapist called me over and asked me did I still want to have the seaweed bath that I had booked for after my massage? I told her no, that I was unhappy with the service and she just replied “Fine” Again no apology.
This really ruined my relaxing experience.

The scenery was lovely. Room was very comfortable.
The breakfast was cold. It would be good if there was a little shop for newspapers, milk etc and more to do

we stayed in a lodge and it was exceptionally comfortable
I didn’t like the uneven ground that we had to walk on in our stilettos en route from our lodge to the function room and especially when we were returning back to our lodge at night ☹️
I know to date of three guests that actually had a fall on the rough ground underfoot 😖

Lovely location . Food was delicious
The bed was the worst bed I ever slept in. Woke up the next morning with a pain in my back .
Room was quite cosy apart from that.
Service on both evening and breakfast wasn't very good. Firstly we had to ask for our order to be taken. We waited an hour and a half for our main course (which came out wrong) to arrive. No one came to clear our plates, we had to go up ourselves to the bar for a drink each time.
The girls were very friendly but not very attentive, the restaurant manager was not managing!!
We thought maybe it was a one off but breakfast service the next morning was also a disappointment. No-one gave us any direction, I had to find someone to explain to us where we go to get our food and where we could sit .
Food on both occasions was very tasty.
It's a beautiful setting and we would of liked to return with our kids sometime in the future but considering how bad the service was we don't think we would return any time soon.
