Lovely property and sweet owners! We felt right at home. We got to see the moonlight over the ocean watching the tide come in over the rocks.

I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful waterfront property. It is perfect for a couple's escape. We were looking to be away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, and this stay fit that. The kitchen was gorgeous and had everything I needed to cook. The balcony was a peaceful place to eat dinner while listening to the waves.
The hosts communicates quickly but also gave all the privacy we craved. If I'm ever back in Maine, I will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the location of this quaint home that had easy access to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The property manager made us feel at home with a welcome basket. We found the directions very accurate and were able to take advantage of hikes during the day on the schoodic penisula as well as the firepit right on site along the shoreline to close our our evenings. The air conditioning window units cooled down the house if they were on for a few hours. The wash machine machine was a plus and there was a cooler in addition to bug spray and a lighter available for adventuring! We enjoyed our stay and experience in Maine with this great stay ❤️

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage in Prospect Harbor. It was equipped with everything we might need and more. The owner was so helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay. The space is homey, light filled, incredible views and stocked with everything you need. Might just be my favorite place I've ever stayed. The host was so helpful and offered great tips from everything from groceries to good restaurants to the best night to build a fire. I would absolutely stay here again.
Only thing to keep in mind is it's an hour from Acadia and local food options are limited. Not at all a negative, as it also meant you are out of the touristy areas and could really unplug. Just worth it to have a good amount of groceries to last in case you rather just stay in and enjoy what this peaceful retreat has to offer.

We were very pleased with our decision to book here. John and Debbie were on excellent hosts. The property is located in an attractive area with short duration access to many of the attractions that drew us to the area. The property was very clean and great for a stay. With an oceanside view and a nice area to sit by the water, it really was a great place to stay.

Beautiful place & location.

This was the nicest home we have stayed in. It was immaculate. The kitchen supplies were top notch, lovely to cook with. The view from the small porch is enchanting. Perfect place for a cup of coffee or glass of wine. We had a fire in the pit a couple of times…stars were amazing. Nearby there are several good restaurants, but especially recommend the homemade blueberry soft serve ice cream at Me and Ben’s. The park at Schoodic Penensula is very close and what wonderful views. The main park is a lovely hour drive away and very easy to get to. There is a lot to do and see right around the house, too. Nice antique shops. Each day, however, we were so happy to get back to our lovely cottage. A few tips; buy your own firewood along the way at a “camp wood” station…need cash. Wi-Fi was not very strong. Groceries in Ellsworth is best place to get supplies.
Hosts were prompt in reply and very helpful. Would highly recommend this stay!

This apartment was clean and on a beautiful peace of property next to the Ocean. The owners are right next door so there is no real sense of privacy to this place. The communication I had with the management company EVOLVE was the absolute worst I have had to ever deal with. A week before my trip, I sent them a request to reduce my stay by 4 days because I had to get back to be with my father who is at MD Anderson in Houston dying of cancer. I messaged them on the VRBO app and did not ever get a response for 72 hours. I finally got someone to respond by email but there was a huge lag in the time between sending the email and them responding. They offered me some minuscule amount of credit for leaving early. The WiFi did not work at all. The access point was in the owners house but too far away to get a useable signal. That apartment needs its own wireless router in there. The place and the area were clean and beautiful so it was not a complete bust. Will come back to the area but find a different place to stay.

This was one of the loveliest vacation rentals I’ve had. The views are incredible, the space has lots of little touches as well as being stocked with everything needed. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would love to come back soon! Thank you, Debby and John!

My husband and I recently took our first trip to Maine together and had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property! It was beautiful, updated, extremely clean/well kept up, bright with tons of natural light, and so comfortable - everything we could have asked for and more! We loved the location with easy access to Acadia/Bar Harbor and the activities we planned to do, but with the peacefulness and tranquility of not being in nature and not right in the center of the touristy area. We loved having our morning coffee with views of the water, and falling asleep listening to the waves gently lapping on the shoreline at night. It was perfect for coming back to and unwinding after a busy day. We had a wonderful time on our vacation, and are already talking about when we can come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Debbie & John’s property in birch harbor. The home was immaculate, property was fantastic, and the stars at night were amazing. We enjoyed watching the lobster boats while we were sitting around the fire pit. We were also just a short 8 minute drive from Schoodic Acadia.
Debbie & John were great hosts. They gave you privacy but we’re also fun to talk to. Their home offered us a perfect vacation.

It was great. As advertised

Except for the stairs leading up to the apartment above the garage (manageable, but steep!), the place was a total delight and very clean. It was a bit like living in a tree house because you're up high in the middle of a woodsy area. We saw blue jays and a couple of cardinals enjoying themselves as we took in the view of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean just steps away. The short 10 minute drive to the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park was an adventure that almost left us speechless for its natural beauty. If you're looking for Maine's rocky, wild coastline, take time to visit this portion of Acadia and you will not be disappointed, and this "Cabin" in the trees is the perfect location for getting to the Park, and Campobello was a very manageable day trip away. I would come back in a heartbeat. A caution for those visiting Maine before Memorial Day or after Labor Day, a LOT of restaurants, shops, museums, etc. are closed, so do you research before you make your reservation.

My husband and stayed at this property for our first vacation together to Maine, and it was everything we could have asked for and more. The cottage was beautiful, clean and updated, tons of natural light, perfect amount of space (nice big kitchen, seating and bed both really comfortable!) and so peaceful. We loved having our morning coffee with a view of the water, watching the sun set over the coast, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves on the shoreline. We purposely chose this property because we wanted something away from the super touristy area, a tranquil place to come back to at the end of an active day, but with easy access to everything we wanted to do. This property provided exactly that! We were sad to leave this beautiful location, and are already talking about when we can come back!

My Husband and I spent our honeymoon at this wonderfully peaceful property. The accommodations were excellent and the place very clean and charming. A bit of a drive from Acadia, but worth it for the peace and quiet right on the water. We’d love to stay again!

Debby and John's place was exactly what we needed to take some time away. The views from the place were just magnificent and the hosts were very prompt with their communication

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to escape after a stressful few months. It was quiet, charming, peaceful and close enough to Acadia and to Bar Harbor to be able to do everything we wanted to do. Debby and John were also fantastic and left us with a basket of goodies and great suggestions of things to do in the area. It was absolutely perfect!

Just what we needed
After many days on the road visiting national parks, we arrived for a few days of rest and to see Acadia National Park. Our lovely and cozy place with everything needed including a washer/dryer was above the owners garage. We had a small balcony which looked out towards the water. The location is just a few miles away from the Schoodic section of Acadia which is about an hour from the main entrance to the park. After a long day of hiking we looked forward to coming "home" every night to our cozy place.

House was clean and comfortable. The view and grounds were beautiful. The drive from the house to Acadia/Bar Harbor was about an hour.

Beautiful home in the trees
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment. This was very well appointed with everything you would need to dine in or out. We loved feeling like we were living in a tree house with all the greenery outside. Then the balcony in the mornings and evenings overlooking the water-! What more could you ask for? Clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated in a very relaxing setting. We loved it! Explored Schoodic, Winter Harbor and their Lobster Festival, day trip to Quoddy Head and relaxing in between. We had stayed closer to Bar Harbor prior to this VRBO and were happy to explore a more quiet, serene side of Acadia. Would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing ‘Tree House’
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful upstairs apartment. Wonderfully and fully appointed with everything you could possibly need, whether cooking in or going out. The unit was away from the hustle of the Bar Harbor area, but we loved the quiet, sitting out on the balcony in the mornings and evenings, exploring the Schoodic Peninsula, Winter Harbor and it’s Lobster Fest, as well as a day trip to West Quoddy Head.
Surrounded by trees, with the harbor out the front, we felt like we were living in a tree house.
The owners were very accommodating, making sure we had all we needed without being obtrusive. Absolutely somewhere we would stay again.

Incredible view, perfect place to relax
I cannot wait to return. I was a little nervous about staying in a rental with the property owners in the home adjacent to the apartment, but Debbie and John were absolutely wonderful and it was a perfect blend of privacy and hospitality. The property is pristine and beautiful and just the right size for a couple. The views from the balcony and the yard are spectacular, I highly recommend planning a night for a fire. The other great thing is the location. While it’s about an hour drive to Bar Harbor, the Schoodic section of Acadia is only a couple of minutes away and far less crowded so we could bike and hike there easily. And there are a few small towns nearby with great local spots to eat. We liked the slower pace and fewer crowds for sure.

Beautiful home by the sea
We loved staying at Debbie's guest house. It was a wonderful and beautiful home. The kitchen was equipped with everything that you could need for cooking. There were also some incredibly thoughtful touches from Debbie -- a gift card for a local ice cream place and some pastries.
Debbie was very communicative and made the check in process easy. She also followed up during our stay to make sure everything was going well.
The property is beautiful. There is a fire pit and lovely back yard that goes right up to the rocky shores of the ocean. Truly spectacular.
The one thing I would note is that the home is a 1 hour drive from Bar Harbor/Acadia, so if you plan to be visiting those areas every day, you should take the drive into consideration.

First time in Down East
This was the perfect place for our Maine get-away. Quiet, and surrounded by the beautiful, natural features of the area - a place that was a destination in and of itself. Very clean and comfortable, updated and uncluttered. The hosts had thought of everything a guest would need for a lovely stay. It rained for the first day and a half of our stay, but the place was so comfortable and the view was so great, that we enjoyed our time indoors. Very conveniently located to Acadia for when we ventured out for hiking. We plan to return here in the future!

Most peaceful and well kept home we’ve stayed at!
We so enjoyed staying here! The grounds were just beautiful and so well maintained and the living space was the cleanest we’ve ever rented. We loved sitting by the water right off of the property, relaxing in the hammock and just having our own quiet space. Unfortunately, we were further from bar harbor than we thought. We thought we could take the ferry but it was closed so about an hour drive to get there each day. So nice to go to bar harbor though and then have our quiet relaxing retreat to come home to. Would highly recommend!!

We had an amazing time staying with John and Debbie. The pictures are accurate but the beauty in real life was spectacular and can't truly be captured by camera. It was SO quiet and relaxing. We stayed two weeks and easily slept 10 hours/night. The apartment has everything you could possibly need to cook and feel like you're home. We hope to return in the future. John and Debbie are lovely and accessible should you need anything or want to just say hello! Anyone looking for a relaxing get away, this is your spot! I only wish it was not 14 hours from our home.
