Love the pool!
10.0
- the location is simply fantastic. not even 10min away from Lovina Beach, so just a short scooter ride away, the family-size hotel (5 rooms) benefits from a quiet location directly on the (stone) beach and away from the noise from the road and "busy" areas of Lovina Beach.
- the infinity pool is breathtaking, cleaned every morning at 07:00, and has a jacuzzi on the beach side
- the friendliness of the staff (2 ladies at the reception/front desk/bar and one cook during our stay, all more smiling and helpful than the other)
- the possibility to book a snorkeling experience, a dolphin-watching excursion, a scooter, and various half-day/entire-day excursions directly from the hotel, for a reasonable price. For having done business both with the hotel and with local people directly, I can testify that the prices offered by the hotel are not the cheapest you can find, but are still cheap. So it's a perfect option if you don't want to go through the hassle of organizing everything on your own.
- a great advantage to have a cook for a hotel this size (again, "only" 5 rooms) is that they have the "luxury" of cooking everything on the spot. nothing is pre-cooked and/or prepared weeks in advance and then frozen : from breakfast to dinner, the cook will prepare everything for you with fresh products.
- Brad, the Ozzie owner of the place, is as friendly as they get. He will not impose his presence and will respect your privacy and space, but will always be there, helpful and with a smile, should you be needing anything, from a service to a simple advice. He will also not push for you to use the services he himself offers if he thinks you would be better off "on your own" (like when we wanted to go trekking in Munduk and asked if it was better to go there by renting a scooter from him or taking a taxi.
There was absolutely nothing we did not like at Kelapa Villas itself. However, a few notes of advice for travellers coming here :
- Covid has hit the region hard, so a lot of people making a living from tourists presence have had little to no revenue for over two years. You can feel that in how pressuring they are to buy them sarongs, necklaces, fruits etc. when you walk on the beach side. it pained us to be a little "rough" sometimes, but when saying "no" 5 times isn't enough, we had to take the risk of being seen as cruel/rude. We were not here to buy something from everyone just to be nice...
- not a negative, but a tiny potential point for improvement : we booked a massage but there is no "Spa" per say at Kelapa, so the massage was given on the bed in the room. It was a good massage, but let's be honest, it would have been better on a massage table - both for our own comfort and the masseuse'.
- again, for us it was perfect, but even though the Lovina Beach "effervescence" is only 10min away by scooter, there is little to do "by foot" from Kelapa. a few Warung (small restaurants) within walking distance (special mention to the tiny Warung right opposite to Warung Bambu, on the street leading to Kelapa) but not so many options if you don't want to take a scooter or call a taxi...
- beware : this is not Spain ;) forget ordering food after 19:00 from the Kelapa kitchen, and 20:00 from the surrounding Warungs. Go to Lovina Beach if you want to order food between 20:00 and 21:00, but you will struggle finding anything open to eat after 21:00.

The hotel is directly at the beach. Good sunset view. The area is good for relaxing and very quiet. Big swimming pool with sea view and a side bubble pool.
Friendly and helpful staff.
U can book different day trip sightseeing tours (pre-set and also individually according to your destination wishes) at the hotel for a reasonable price (cheaper than when u prebook online).
The area might be too quiet for some people. Can't order a grab car. Some grab motorbike taxis are available. Can't just have a short walk and find a bar or spa like in Seminyak and other busy areas of Bali.
For swimming in the sea not suitable. Small and stoney beach with shallow water. The bigger sandy beach of lovina is a 10 to 15 min. car ride west.
Breakfast is not available before 9. However, if u leave for a trip before they prepare egg, toast and fruits for u the night before.

Lovely friendly staff, personal touch as only 5 villas. Great location beachfront with a beautiful infinity pool. Good food, drinks brought to you by the pool. Nothing was too much trouble
No negatives everything was more than perfect. Cant wait to return

The hotel is small, quiet and nicely appointed. Service is excellent and the food very good. The units are attractive and well-designed.
The strawberry jelly served at breakfast was terrible. This is particularly irritating because Bali’s strawberry growing region in located in the nearby mountains where one buy excellent strawberry jam!

That it was quite
The place does not have any double rooms as announced in booking.com what they understand as double rooms is a one queen size bed room with 2 matress on the ground!!! After demonstrated that it was not ok for me the owner still did insisted that I paid for one night even though we went away!!! Highly encourage to choose another place... I felt cheated... And the bathroom was really smelly...

Cool breezes from the ocean. Very nice sunsets. The owner is very accommodating and ensured our stay was comfortable.
The bed could have been a little softer (personal preference), but was otherwise spacious and meticulously ckean.

Enjoyed using the pool, very relaxing looking out over the sea
Nothing I would complain about although due to covid everything was very quiet

Big pool, available 24h, water was clean and there are sunbeds on the side. In house everything was clean at well, also bathroom had a bath in addition to the shower. Shower is open-style.
Stuff was a little bit sad, but started to smile at the end :)

The place was very comfortable and clean - the room was well presented and with a good size
It is not in Lovina - more like Singaraja. Access was though some very tight residential roads with no signage. The breakfast offered was just Nasi Goreng, although the staff at hand helped by preparing some toast and eggs.
