The home is absolutely lovely, very welcoming, in a quiet street, comfortable and had everything you could need including food essentials and central heating for those chilly nights. It is also very welcoming for pets and the yard is secure. It is located within a short walk to the lake. It is the most homely accommodation I have stayed in. Thank you Geraldine!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Skye House. The house was extremely comfortable and meticulously presented. Our host thought of everything that we could possibly need to make our stay enjoyable. The location is perfect, easy to walking into town or the numerous cafes around Lake Wendouree. Without a doubt we will be back. Thanks

Fantastic property, so close to the main town of Ballarat. In a beautiful part of Ballarat surrounded by gorgeous properties and streets. We loved wondering for a morning coffee and looking at all the lovely homes. The owner was just so lovely. The house was clean and nice and perfect. Great weekend away. Thanks for having. 10/10.

Skye House more than met up to expectations based on the description in Stayz. Communication with Geraldine was easy and responsive. She is extremely generous with what is provided for guests (including our furry friends), particularly in relation to what’s in the pantry and fridge. The house is in a very convenient location and is surrounded by other renovated and lovely houses. It was well heated, and beautifully appointed; very comfortable with several sitting areas; secure for our dogs, and Geraldine had left throws for the couches, and a towel to ensure the dogs were clean and dry when inside. We were sorry to leave, and will book again when we are in Ballarat.

I highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a lovely place to stay close to the centre of town. Geraldine has laid out a most welcoming home for out of town visitors, with a very well provisioned kitchen and larder available to make your stay care free. We just loved it.

Stunning/Elegant residence - property within walking distance to coffee and everything else. Was so beautiful and relaxing, like being at a wellness retreat without having to take away carbs. Owner was so thoughtful, beautiful human.

A most delightful home in a street with homes of a similar era. The generosity of our host was beyond anything we had experienced. We are experienced travellers in Europe, and Our stay at Skye House was so much better than impersonal hotels, no matter how grand
Best wishes Joan Light and Family.

Skye House is a lovely place to unwind, relax & enjoy. We enjoyed the warmth & tranquility with the added extras that made us, your guests, feel like we were staying with family. It was so cosy & warm on cold Ballarat nights, with the electric blankets on the very comfy beds. Beautifully decorated, very clean, a lovely cottage garden to wander around.
Thank you for a great place to enjoy our birthday break.

we stayed in this house for 5 days in early November and have no complaints, so I give 5 star rating. It is a good house with three good bedrooms. Very good location, about 10min walk to the city center and 10min walk to the lake.

Perfect stay
We stayed at this property for a weekend with 3 generations of family including one year old baby. We all found this to be one of the most welcoming, well equipped houses we have ever stayed at, nothing was overlooked, it felt like we were in a family home rather than a holiday rental. It was lovely and warm on a cool Ballarat weekend, and a quiet neighbourhood. Geraldine was a wonderful responsive host, very accommodating, always responded to queries very promptly, and we loved the treats, thank you! Close to the lake and other places of interest, great coffee shop just round the corner. Thanks for a great stay and would love to stay again when we are in Ballarat.

Dog friendly & perfect for humans too!
Just a few words to say thank you for our stay at Skye House.
We absolutely loved the house and our time spent in Ballarat.
The location, the ambience and the attention to detail was 100%.
From the bed linen to all the homely decorations and touches.
We are in the Hospitality business, and we all agree it is one of the nicest homes we have stayed in during our many travels.
The supplies in the pantry and the welcome gifts were very much appreciated. (especially the doggie treats)
I think we are all going home to fast as we have eaten so much!
We went to the Winter Wonder Lights at Sovereign Hill, and we also went to the Lola at the Provincial for a lovely lunch.
Both places were so enjoyable and memorable we can highly recommend them.
Many thanks

Home away from home
I'm not really sure where to start when reviewing this property as there is so much to say. From the moment you step through the front door, you feel like you are staying in somebody's very much loved home, and not a space dedicated to holiday rental. The decor is very much in keeping with the historical cottage that it is, and the use of all things old and beautiful is encouraged. The bedding and linens are of a very high standard, the shower hot with good water flow, and plenty of options for entertainment. The cottage is a short walk to everything of interest in the local area, and walking discoveries were a delight. The fridge and pantry are not only full of basic essentials, but there are very thoughtful gestures such as the bowl of Kit Kats sitting beside the coffee machine. Upon arrival we were met with a lovely welcome basket of edible goodies which was such a thoughtful touch. I can't wait to return to Ballarat, and to stay at Skye house again.

Wonderful multi generational getaway
Skye House worked wonderfully for our multi generational trip to Ballarat, with the master bedroom, ensuite and front living room providing an excellent haven for the grandparents. Wonderful location, beautifully presented, lovely and warm. Geraldine was an extremely kind and accomodating host. The property is well equipped with everything you may need for your stay. Moments away from a great coffee shop and just a short walk to the heart of Ballarat, would highly recommend. Thanks Geraldine
