Property was perfect for us (4 people). Clean, comfortable. Property was perfect although a noisy local wombat made my sleep a bit interrupted. Not a bad reason to get some interrupted sleep though.

This was the perfect place for a long weekend for my sister and I. Jenny could not have been more helpful. The cottage was beautiful, warm and inviting when we arrived. A great location for exploring the area or just sitting in front of the fire chatting.

We really enjoyed staying at the cottage! It was very quaint but also very comfortable and very well appointed and provisioned. We particularly enjoyed the olde world atmosphere and loved the wood fire and back yard. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful too.

Lovely house which was well set up for a lovely restful break away. The combustion stove was set ready to light, wonderful kitchen, well stocked bathroom and surprisingly very quiet given its location. We'd definitely return for another stay.

Cute cottage
Cute cottage well supplied with little essentials like tissues, and pantry items that are so easily forgotten as well as all the usuals like sheets and towels. A little closer to the road than I expected and it was quiet and peaceful out of business hours.

Cosy and well maintained property
The cottage was very well set up with very need catered to. The decor was old meets new- vintage class with modern comforts. It was very clean with fresh linen and plenty of towels provided. The backyard was nice and big with lots of space for our daughter to play. And Jenny was lovely and very friendly

It was a good location but a little too close to the main road
It was a comfortable place to be for a few days and had everything we needed for the stay

Nice break in the Valley
Hampden cottage is on the Bowral side of the bridge and a 15-20 minute walk to the shopping area and cafes.
We enjoyed the location and as it rained one day and was cooler had a lazy afternoon with the log fire glowing.
Jenny the host also runs the kayak store next door so on Monday we hired a kayak and met them at Benalla for a liesurely morning in Lake Yerrunga.
Went out to the Thai restaurant and the Indian restaurant for dinners both were very good and also had lunch at The General store which again was very nice.
Went for a hike on the Three Trails walk which was spectacular when you look over the Shoalhaven river.
A nice weekend break.

Hampden Cottage
Hampden Cottage was everything we had hoped for our stay. Jenny has put a lot of consideration into the decor. It was comfortable and the kitchen, bathroom and laundry were very well equipped. The beds were clean and so cosy. We had our whole family staying near by at another property and we used the cottage to meet at and walk to the river which was only a couple of minutes away.
The gardens surrounding the cottage has wonderful little places to relax and have a cuppa. We would definitely recommend Hampden Cottage to anyone looking to stay at Kangaroo Valley. Can't wait to return sometime in the near future.

Beautiful and Relaxing
The cottage has retained much of the original fixtures and has all the modern additions. It was like stepping back in time when I walked through the front door. My son had never turned on a light with a cord which was quite funny. The cottage is spacious, clean and very cosy. The main bedroom is absolutely gorgeous and looks out into the huge backyard which is great for kids. There's a creek at the bottom of the garden too. It was wonderful to sit in front of the fire and just chill with a glass of wine, in peace. I would highly recommend this place for its location and beauty, a great cottage to unwind and relax in. Jenny, our host was so friendly and welcoming, providing history of the cottage and making sure we were settled in.

Weekend for two
This is one of those properties that real life pleasantly surprises you on arrival, as it is nicer in person than photos, albeit the photos were what attracted us to the property.
The payout of the place is great, very clean, close to all local local attractions and definitely a place my wife and I will return to.

Our second stay at this lovely cottage. Made full use of the wood burner this time: fire was set when we arrived and easy to light: plenty of firewood too.
Highly recommended!

Great cottage
We had a lovely stay. The kids loved the spa and the big backyard. The adults loved the fire and the comfy beds. The rooms are quite far apart which was tricky with small children but would be great for two couples or older kids. The walk to town is doable and the books, dvds and board games were a nice extra. The tea, coffee, jams and milk were a lovely touch. We wished we could stay longer.

A great long weekend away just outside of the village and right near the river. A quiet house with great ambience and a lovely warm fire.

Very enjoyable stay in lovely Kangaroo Valley
We had the pleasure of staying for four nights in this charming cottage. The nights were cold given that it was mid-winter but we were cosy, enjoying relaxing by the log fire in the evenings and tucking up at night in very comfortable beds with high quality bed linen and pillows. Host Jenny was very easy to communicate with in advance of our stay and had thought of just about everything to welcome her guests. The only problem we had was very poor wifi but that might have been an indication of a problem in the area.
We recommend a short stay in this very beautiful valley. There are many drives and walks to appreciate in the area. The effects of the devastating bushfires early this year were not in evidence in the township but a drive out to scenic Tallowa Dam soon showed us just how severe they were and how much danger this beautiful area was actually in. Fortunately the valley was saved and now the locals are very keen to welcome visitors back again.

Exceptional
Hampden Cottage combines heritage and comfort perfectly. The cottage is spotlessly clean, is larger than expected, with a good separation between the 2 bedrooms. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the fireplace ready to light on a cold night. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio with our wine and cheese platter listening to the birds and the sweet fragrance of the honeysuckle. Close to town, and hiking trails. Take a drive to the campground to see wombats up close.
Thank you Jenny.
