Our time in Lahinch was absolutely stunning! We enjoyed spending time with our family who we hadn’t seen in two years. The location was just perfect!
I have to say the house worked out well for our family and everything was great until I received an email from the owner blaming us for plumbing issues. We arrived and there was a little bit of water on the floor in the 2nd floor bathroom. I wiped it up and never saw water again. We received a bill for $532 because apparently water within the walls and floor (something no one can see, especially cleaners who take care of this house could see) it must have dripped down after water being within the walls and damaged the ceiling in the bedroom on the first floor. The owners have now blamed this on us. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They said nothing like this has ever happened before. We understand that but clearly a plumbing issue was not our fault. There was an issue before we even stepped foot into the house.
The owner first showed us pictures of the bathroom floor wood damage. Then changed his story and said the floor has gotten damage before because people have left the window open. Clearly that floor was like that before we arrived. Can’t blame us for that. Then goes on to say the ceiling damage is our fault. Again can’t blame us for water leaking behind the walls and ceiling.
If we would have seen a bathroom flooded or something being damaged we would have certainly contacted the owner to let them know.

As soon as the cow with a mustache moo’d his greeting, I knew we were in for a nice stay. House was warm, quiet and appointed well. We explored the whole region and enjoyed it!

Beautiful, cozy home in a wonderful location. Property owners were extremely helpful and responsive.

Joan and Brian’s place is wonderful! Just a few miles out of Lahinch on a hill overlooking the bay, it is in the perfect location. The house is huge and feels cozy at the same time. There is a great seafood restaurant right next door where we ate twice (and also took home a loaf of their amazing bread!). Brian was very responsive to anything we needed. We hope to return to Soheen again!

The home was beautiful and located near everything we wanted to visit. Three was plenty of room for the five of us. It had all the features most homes have. The view from this home was fantastic. Many mornings sitting outside with coffee admiring the panorama. Brian and Joan were easy to contact and responded quickly to any question we may have. Highly recommend this home.

Soheen is comfortable and cozy. The views are breathtaking and the home is a delight. We loved every minute. Lahinch is a great beach town with a lively atmosphere. Lots of happy vacationers enjoying the beach and gorgeous scenery.

We really appreciated our stay in this nice, spacious, and comfortable house! The kitchen / dining room has a large volume and great natural lighting from 3 sides. The house was quiet and with sufficient space for the 6 of us. The detailed instructions were very helpful.

We enjoyed our time here. It was a cold visit and we were happy to have the wood burning stove! We had plenty of space and enjoyed the time we had there. The owners were responsive when we had questions about the house as well!

Despite some wild and windy November weather, we had a very enjoyable stay at Soheen. There were just three of us, so plenty of room to spread out in, though we spent most of our time in the cozy TV room watching the World Cup and old movies after coming back from golfing. The large and airy kitchen was the perfect spot to watch the hail and rain roll by during breakfast - luckily only for brief spells every 30 minutes or so. The kitchen was well stocked with mugs, glasses, plates and equipment - it was great to have a regular drip style electric coffee maker. The showers have on-demand hot water systems which were quite effective. There is a good, firm mattress on the bed in the downstairs bedroom. The detailed instructions for using the heat and hot water were easy to follow. There was an issue with the internet (external to the property) but the owner got in touch with Sky for us and worked with the technician to get it fixed promptly. The rain and early darkness kept us from exploring the nearby beach, but hopefully we can come back in the spring next year! A nice rural vibe yet only about 5 minutes from Lahinch. Best of both worlds.

We spent our best vacations in this house. The house is very nice with a great turnaround for the kids. The house had everything we needed and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, from there you can do a lot. We can highly recommend this accommodation.

Wr loved our stay at Soheen and fully enjoyed the waterside location. Wr are twice at Barrtra’s and enjoyed a fire on two rainy days. What a comfortable well-loved family home we felt lucky to experience.

This is a wonderful big house with a nice spacious garden area! Unfortunately there are cameras located around the house and two are even inside the house - one in the kitchen/dining area, the other is monitoring the living room and the way to the bathroom! In every room there is also a motion detector and in combination with all the family members looking from the many pictures on the wall we did not feel home.
The property listing does not tell about the very weak internet connection and additional cost above 1GB/day. Well, in our case it was even not working for all 3 days. There was no real support but at least we got a refund for the extra charges using mobile phone data.

Lovely location, great layout, wonderful views and access to beach and town.

The location could not be beat - gorgeous sunsets and water views. This is a very charming home.

Wonderful stay
Description is accurate, home is beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable. Location is spectacular.
First floor en-suite master bedroom was a nice surprise and perfect for my older parents.
Technically there is Wi-Fi but the signal was very weak, insufficient for streaming on kids devices, communicating on Vrbo app, or for either my husband or I to hold a VPN connection on our laptops. We did have some remote work and video conferencing to manage during our vacation in Ireland so the Wi-Fi was a bit problematic for us but would probably be fine for a family that didn’t have such needs.
Overall this home is wonderful and we highly recommend.

Brian & Joan were wonderful in their communication and instructions for the operations of the house. These are a pair of very well versed home owners who have done a wonderful job of equipping the renter with what they need. We enjoyed the home tremendously and it was a great place to return after many travels on our visit there. The kitchen was full of light and it was a bright spot for sure to enjoy, even on cloudy days. We missed seeing the infamous dog "Ben" that we read so much about but we very well may have been gone too much of the time to catch the little guy. The beach was within walking distance and very unique, as is each coastline in Ireland. The rocks/bolders along the coastline made for some very special and dynamic picture taking. The weather was great on our stay. Loved the home/beach tremendously here at this location for our week+ stay! Thank you Joan and Brian. 🙋♀️

The house is comfortable, views are spectacular from upstairs.
Suggested dining spots were excellent. Great jumping off place to explore the area and relaxing place in evening for a game of bridge and a glass of wine

An absolute gem!
This is one of the best homes I've ever rented, anywhere. It was the ideal place to spend the first leg of our Ireland trip. The listing is accurate, but somehow I didn't realize how absolutely lovely the setting is - it's down a quiet lane in a small community, surrounded by farmland, and set up on a hill so you can see and hear the ocean from all around the property and most of the rooms. We laid in the plush grass and listened to the waves and the intermittent mooing of the nearby cows. You can walk to the end of the road to the beach, and there's a great restaurant just up the hill. Friendly local dogs dropped by for visits, which my kids loved. And on a clear night the stars are magical.
The house itself is spacious and my family of 5 was so comfortable here. The kids enjoyed the bunk bed room and there was a separate room for my baby to sleep in. The kitchen is big and BRIGHT with everything you need to cook a nice meal or just bring in, as we did. It's also so cozy - I loved the couches in the kitchen and the sitting room/den where we built fires. This feels like a cherished family home and not just a rental, and that was a wonderful thing to experience.
The location is also really perfect - Lahinch is truly adorable surfer town with great food, cute shops (my kids loved the book store), and an overall fun vibe. And it's a short drive to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. Lahinch wasn't on my radar, and I was initially looking for house rentals closer to the Cliffs. I'm so glad I came upon this listing, because the location was truly ideal.
And finally, Brian was an excellent host - quickly responsive with any questions that came up, left clear instructions for everything, and just seemed like a nice person. He even arranged for us to have some amazing weather in April :)
I wish we could have stayed for a month! If this home is available for your dates, book it.

Lovely stay..
We live next door, just rented this place out for a few extra rooms for a family gathering. Everything was perfect. Clean, warm, easy to check in and out... Would definitely recommend.

Great base to explore Lahinch and its environs
This is a lovely, spacious house in a convenient location for Lahinch, Spanish Point, The Burren, the Cliffs of Moher and more. The kitchen/breakfast room is large and well equipped and the living room is very comfortably furnished with sofas and armchairs. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and there was plenty of room for our family of 2 adults and 3 boys. The gardens are well kept with room for the boys to kick a ball and the adults to enjoy the stunning view with a glass of wine.
Two tips -
A car is essential to make the most of the local attractions.
Barrtra is an excellent restaurant only 2 minutes walk from the house but book well in advance of your stay.

We had a great time in West Clare at Joan and Brian's house. The house is very large and spacious with a good layout for sleeping and socializing (we couldn't hear each other when we closed the doors between the two areas, which was great for those wanting to nap or sleep while others stayed up). The kitchen/dining area is very large and airy with lots of windows allowing for loads of natural light. The garden and lawn is very large and well maintained and made for a great spot to watch the sunset each evening. The house is located between Lehinch and Spanish Point making it easy to get to both or pretty much any other attraction in Clare. You do need a car though, as there isn't anything in a walkable distance, but the rural location adds to the charm. There were several farm animals around the area (chickens, cows, and two very cute and friendly neighborhood dogs which would come over for a belly rub each morning). It's very peaceful and quiet all the time and we all felt completely relaxed and at home here. The owners were very communicative on email and text and flexible when we had a request. The only complaints we have are minor - the broadband/wifi isn't great if multiple devices are using it at the same time, and we could have used more towels (we were only given 3 towels for 3 people for 3 nights and could have used a few spare ones), and it would've been great to have a few beach towels available too. But everything else we could want (spices, soap, laundry detergent, etc) was stocked and plentiful. We would highly recommend booking here and are planning to come back in the near future. We've stayed at several homes and hotels in the area (Lehinch, Liscanoor, Doolin) and this has by far been our favorite. This property is fantastic and provides a real West Clare holiday experience. Thank you Joan and Brian and hope to stay at your home again.
