Excellent food and service
Toilet was rather old fashion with dodgy plumbing and inconsistent water temperature
9.0
Location as it was close to where our relations were staying and live. Staff were very friendly and helpful.breakfast was excellent lovely scrambled egg for instance.
A lovely garden to sit was a bonus.
A good family hotel
No Access for disabled. My sister visited but found steps very difficult as she is recovering from a broken femur at age 81. It would have been difficult anyway but she was very stiff that day
A ramp would have made all the difference but probably not easy for you to provide.

The breakfast experience was memorable, for the time it took between sitting down, ordering and receiving. There was no indication about the time-delay, until asked, when it was explained that there was only 1 chef on, and we’d come at a busy time. Despite the tardiness, the porage was bang on, especially with the berry compote and cream. The toaster needed turning up somewhat, being more ‘warm bread’ than toast (but seemingly typical of hotel toast). Couldn’t fault the fried brekkie, but couldn’t have space to finish it.
The staff were their secret, warm, friendly, helpful. Without prompting of any kind, the tardy brekkie debacle was offset by the generous wiping off our our bar-bill. Yes I’d go back. It’s a magnificent red sandstone building with lashings of deep carpets, hardwood panelling and character.
The toast.

Good location in a nice area with everything close by. Check in really quick😊 Really good breakfast served by friendly staff that went above and beyond.
We booked a cosy room and were given room 10 that was not like the pictures of the cosy room but was actually the picture of the single room choice. Far too small for two people and the bed was so uncomfortable we would not choose to stay here again ☹️

The food was excellent , staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel is really nice with lovely decor and atmosphere. Lovely and cosy. Good pillows .
The mattress was a bit too hard for me ,so unfortunately not a great sleep. Bathroom door in the room didn't shut properly leaving a large gap. Privacy issue if staying with a friend.

location was good and breakfast was excellent
property is in need of some updating
rooms were tired and bathrooms were seriously outdated
every room nowadays should have a shower and not just hoses fitted to the bath taps that didn’t work

The breakfast was fine
The mattress on our bed should have been put into a skip, it was bevelled in the middle and was very uncomfortable my wife and I lost a nights sleep which was totally unacceptable. It totally ruined our stay.
