About this house rental

Built in 1850, remodeled in 1989 for a comfortable lifestyle, all on one floor! Right across the street from Rockport Opera house, with a sunny southern exposure and a wrap around porch. Walk easily to 18 Central and the Nina June Cafe in the same block. This would be a great house to rent while taking a class at The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship or the Maine Media Workshop. Perfect too for attending the Bay Chamber concerts right across the street in the Opera House or at Union Hall . The house has a number of comfy chairs for sitting and reading, and a desk situated next to a window overlooking the harbor for writing. It is a restful house, but there are plenty of adventures to be had in the surrounding Camden hills or inland- day sails on a schooner, hiking, kayaking.
Our two bedrooms each open onto the kitchen/dining area, and each has a full bathroom. Each one has an air conditioner, although it is rarely needed. How many times we visited here in the summer, leaving a hot steamy Boston, and found Rockport chilled by a fog bank. Mom would say, 'Always bring a sweater when you come to Maine!'
This house is perfect for two couples on a getaway weekend, or as a home base during a longer visit to New England. We have all the linens you need, and a well supplied kitchen for cooks. Soap is supplied as well as access to washer and dryer.

Perfect size for 2 couples. The views of the harbor are gorgeous and we really enjoyed our stay in this quaint New England home! The beds were comfortable and lots of closet space. The kitchen was fully equipped to make meals. The desk was useful for one member of our party who had to do some work. Ruth was a very attentive and a wonderful hostess.

Lovely home overlooking a beautiful harbor. The house is very well appointed. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need, plenty of towels, and hangers in the closets. Highly recommend 18 Central in Rockport for dinner. Very close to Camden (about 1 mile) for restaurants and shopping. Great home if you want to enjoy the Maine coast.

The cottage was perfectly located. It was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment to make cooking an occasional meal easy.Ruth was a charming hostess. We had fabulous weather. We will definitely return.

Ruth’s home in Rockport was perfect! The stunning views from the large wrap around porch, the tastefully decorated rooms, the big dining room, the well equipped kitchen all contributed to our fantastic weekend at Ruth’s beautiful home. The attention to detail in every aspect made this property a true home away from home. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Rockport! It is a true gem with amazing views that will leave you with cherished memories!

Had a wonderful few days with my brothers. Have stayed at this house before and it always lovely. The house is so welcoming and clean. The views are fantastic. Close to everything. I definitely would recommend it and will definitely stay again.

The home was truly a taste of New England with its design, interior, antiques and colors. We enjoyed the home and how well equipped it was and Ruth, the owner , was a gem!!! She even brought us vegetables from her garden!

Rental in Rockport, ME, lovely home with many amenities, centrally located in small village, that has a harbor, ('Andre'the seal sculpture in residence), coffee shop, Gallery (photographer Peter Ralston), Opera House, great library, & seafood market/restaurant (just up the street) Only drawback is traffic;-driver/pedestrian safety, -beware. Home owner is very positively responsive. Husband & I greatly enjoyed our week exploring mid-coast Maine from Rockport base.

Great place to stay in the middle of the state able to drive up and down the state. Beautiful view from the porch and can walk to the harbor. 2 bathrooms and 2seperate living areas which was nice. Owner had great communication with us and it was clean and comfortable

This home is well equipped and comfortable, with a great view of the Rockport Harbor. The Host goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable, informed of the area, and friendly! Perfect location to enjoy Rockland, Camden and Owls Head. And a east drive to get to places like Freeport, and Acadia National Park.

A wonderful, historical and cozy house in the most gorgeous of settings. This was our second year and we are returning again next year. Although there are ample restaurants in striking distance we love buying local seafood & produce, cooking at home and eating in the screened in porch. This is the place for a mellow and rich holiday.

We rented this house to explore the mid coast of Maine. This property had nice views of Rockport Harbor as well as a great central location for visits to Moosehead Lake, Boothbay Harbor , Freeport , Camden and Manchester. The owners go above and beyond to supply you with everything you need to have a relaxing vacation. The house is exactly as advertised

The house is very conveniently located to most every place you want to go. ie Camden, Rockport harbor and two sensational restaurants directly across the street. We especially enjoyed daily afternoon cocktail on the balcony overlooking the beautiful harbor. The home is very well equipped with everything there is to do in this beautiful area. The real star of our vacation was the this wonderful home.

The house was spacious and clean and beautifully landscaped - we had everything we needed, and more. It was right across the street from the Opera House and had a wrap-around deck with views of the Rockport harbor. Lots to do - climbing, hiking, even rowing in Camden harbor. My wife and I and another couple drove up from NC and stayed a week in this delightful home in early Oct. 2021. It was everything that was advertised, and much more. The home is a classic -- cozy, warm, charming, clean, and neat. The wide pine flooring with antique nails was beautiful -- from an age gone by. The view from the spacious front porch of Rockport harbor is postcard-worthy. The location is ideal for sightseeing, shopping, and dining on the central ME cost. Ruth was a warm and gracious host. We're already planning a return trip next year.

We enjoyed our recent stay here at Rockport. The accommodations were were cozy, clean , comfortable, and almost walking distance or a short car trip to Camden, Rockland, and surrounding walking trails. Ruth, our hostess, provided us with everything that we would ever need, including a well stocked kitchen. Unlike many rentals in which we have stayed, Ruth provided sensible directions to manage all of our needs, from operating the entertainment system to specifics as to where to shop and suggestions for things to do. She even gifted us with some of her home grown eggs. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location over looking Rockport Harbor. The only drawback to this beautiful home is the busy street and some construction going on. We were out and about most of the day, so it wasn't that much of a problem. Very close to Rockland and Camden. Also, to many other beautiful coastal towns. Saw lots of lighthouses! Nicely furnished and clean. Very comfortable. We loved the screen in porch for our meals. Ruth Wall/Owner is very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our time in Maine.

Wonderful location at the head of Rockport harbor and just steps away from the Rockport Opera House for live performances, a couple great local restaurants (each with decks looking over the harbor) and the newly rebuilt local library. A very good wine and cheese shop is just minutes away and a great little fresh seafood shop is right around the corner. But with all these nearby amenities also comes a fair bit of hustle and bustle, especially from street traffic passing by in front of the house and construction activity related to a new boutique hotel underway just down the street. Still the location is tough to beat and the house is well cared for, very clean and comfortable in a somewhat old-fashioned sort of way.
