The building was beautiful and loved the age of the building and its decor

I liked the entrance hall and the close proximity to the railway station
It was a run down facility in need of a facelift. It looked ok very highland however on close inspection everything looked as if it was just falling to peaces. The bar manager was rude to my sister and there were no toilet access once the restaurant was shut. The rooms were just ok and I had to use my inhaler a lot once I was in the room. It wasn’t good.

3.0
Its location. The food was very tasty though it seemed as if any remaining ingredients were being used up in the kitchen. Nice lobby.
The senior member of staff rushed our meal and kept staring at us waiting to finish so he could close up.
The bar didn’t remain open in situ to residents.
We couldn’t avail of breakfast the next morning (even though we’d paid for it) because it started later on a Sunday! Would have been nice before going to the airport.
Overpriced for the standard of the property.

Good location.
Parking!
Poor water pressure.
Dirty common areas.
Stale smelling.
Window was difficult to open.
Breakfast staff and food are mediocre.

The location was excellent. The room was fine, breakfast OK.
Terrible banging noise all night (coming from the roof?) - I got no sleep.

3.5
The location and old world charm of the hotel. The breakfast was simple but ample. Staff were nice and the room was cleaned, on request, to a satisfactory standard.
Noise from adjoining rooms was a problem and the windows were very dirty, covered in bird droppings and with some rotting timbers.
4.5
Lovely hotel right in the middle of Inverness Town. Lots of history and right outside the train station. 5 minute walk to the bus station.
Cooked breakfast expensive for what it was.

Excellent location, superb staff, lovely building, good food, clean comfortable rooms.
4.0
Beautiful place and great walkable location. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
Right next to train station and parking is very limited. When we visited a large portion of the parking lot was blocked off for construction forcing us to use a parking garage a few blocks away.

Homely and comfortable
Great value for money

It’s a great location and a lovely old building full of original features. The room was cosy and had a full bath which is always nice in a hotel.
The beds weren’t the most comfortable and the breakfast was disappointing. I also emailed twice to ask if there would be an additional child supplement to bring my son along after a change of plans and was told no, only to be slapped with a £60 charge on arrival.
3.0
Stair way which apparently inspired the Titanic designers in the reception area, and location that's about it.
Parking is very limited. Carpet in our corridor needs replacement, Bedroom was very run down mold in bathroom plus since we were on lower floors you could hear people walking in back alley of to the station which was annoying at night. Breakfast is very poor even by continental standards. Would definitely remove the Royal from the title. Had a lot better experience in a small B&B.
4.5
While it is an old hotel I think there has been an effort to keep up to modern day standards
Just that it was old and creaky
3.5
Really spacious room. Good location if you travel by train (next to railway station) or if you want to visit the inner city.
The hotel has 8 free parking spaces right in front of the hotel.
Bathroom very outdated. Breakfast is served in a huge room with long rows of tables. Looks and feels more like a school canteen than a hotel.
Service was poor, as well with breakfast as in the evening, when we tried to have a drink in the lobby/lounge.
4.5
The bathroom was huge. The room small. There was no lift. There was one person, on staff, who did it all. She was friendly and adorable. She checked us in, got us snacks/drinks and helped me print our ferry ticket which I had on my phone but realized they would only accept a printed at the last minute.

The package of room, one dinner and two breakfasts was great.
Parking was a nightmare. Limited spaces.
It is a traditional hotel and had a heritage feel but I was a bit disappointed that the bed linen had holes in it. Great if you are travelling to Inverness by train.

Room was adequate bed was very comfortable. Hotel is dated and rooms need renovated and updated but we were aware of that. Great location lovely staff.
It was as I expected.

Excellent location, food in Ash restaurant was brilliant.

Hotel next to the train station, friendly staff. Room in vintage style with beautiful furniture and old style bathroom. Titanic style staircase
Armchairs little run down

Great central location
Continental breakfast disappointing - very basic. Offered services (e.g. afternoon tea) but no mention of timing therefore missed it by 30 minutes. Bar closes 9.30pm and serviced by night porter who was busy with other duties and not always available. Hotel looking tired

Location by the station, large room, quiet, friendly staff, the staircase!
4.5
This hotel is excellently located for train travellers. The room was very clean and comfortable and included kettle etc. The bathroom was spacious and clean. I had been worried by photos on the website showing oceans of tartan everywhere but my room turned out to be restfully furnished and tartan-free.
I like a very cold shower in the morning and couldn't get the water cold enough.
4.5
Breakfast very good.
